The best advice I've received in my 20s: "learn to be still"

#from imam dawud walid #this is why sitting with scholars and people of knowledge is important #sometimes they'll look at you and say something #not realising how relevant it is #and it stays with you and changes your life #or heals whatever youre going through #in the weirdest ways #but im trying my best to be still #and trust in Allah #and His timing #and whatever He has written #but its so so so difficult #like my chest is in physical pain #but its helped my anxiety a lot #Alhamdulillah #p #reminder

I think the worst part of mourning is feeling perfectly fine then seeing ONE thing that reminds you of them and suddenly you're crying while doing paperwork lol

#it feels like a whole different lifetime #i feel so detached from it but at the same time why am I crying loll #what's wrong with me #I still have dreams about you #p

Honestly...... I don't understand people that constantly need the TV on or some sort of background noise...

I ordered speakers because I felt like the house was TOO quiet but once one done cleaning I honestly just want to sit in silence lol

#I need it to focus on a task and then I'm doneeee #p

Having an adult child diagnosed with a severe mental illness is really something... You raise them their whole lives thinking you're doing fine and then one day everything changes and all you can do is sit there and wonder where you went wrong.

#my dad's friends book shelf is literally just him trying to learn about mental health #he has a copy of my favourite book and it's filled with notes and bookmarks #the book is so heavy I almost threw up reading it #he gave me his copy and now I can't stop thinking about it #you really never know what people are going through #and obviously it isn't his fault or anyone's fault #but I can tell he feels like he did something wrong #p

Working at a school is weird because I genuinely dislike the people I work with....... But I love the kids lol

You know what's weird about being the youngest child? You watch everyone leave to do their own thing but then feel guilty when it's finally your turn
