Bat! The keeper

(It/it/he/him) Hello! I can’t talk to my players about my campaign but I need to put my thoughts in someone else’s hands I’m playing with Monster of the Week I’m a first time GM :)

Okie just like an introduction first I guess!

I’m Bat or Bath or Indrid or The keeper or GM or whatever, I’m 19, I’ve never played a TTRPG before but I liked the sound of Monster of the Week, so I’m using that one. All my players are also new to the game, I’ve been making lots of stuff and I can’t show most of it to my players because it’s spoilers for the mystery! So I’m gonna put that here, feel free to give me tips and stuff!

Sometimes as a keeper(dm/gm/whatevas) you know your players are monsterfuckers, so you intentionally create one of them monsters that is just like an animal but oooh fucked up.

No one is gonna fuck the horse, so I have at least avoided having to figure out how they’d romance my monsters because this one is just a fucking weird ass horse

I was inspired by many things!

I saw a really cool piece by hannahorca on Twitter and I was also quite inspired by the Bear from Annihilation(2018)

As my fucked up horse thing is like a very basic mimic, where sound is concerned anyway.

I made a map!

I’m pretty happy with how it’s turned out, I have never edited a map like this before. Hopefully I’ll improve the more I do this lol

The general setting is the (fictional) town of Pinecust, it’s kinda based off the town I grew up in. It was a small logging town out in the middle of the Pacific Northwest forest that had kinda lost a lot of it’s bustle decades before I came along. I’ve had a lot of fun kinda planning everything out and making little pieces(such as the map).

If you have any deeper interest in Pinecust feel free to ask. Or if you have any advice or anything like that for a baby Keeper :))
