“I think we’ve all been there at some point. Happy belated birthday though.”
“Thanks, blondie. What’s your name, so I don’t have to keep calling you ‘blondie’?”
Benjamin took the wand and examined it, holding it by both ends, “Hmmm… fortunately, this isn’t a popular wand so I should be able to find out who I sold it to. Unless it wasn’t bought here,” He said, “Yeah, yeah, I think you were in the year below me. I remember seeing you around.”
“Yeah...” She trailed off, examining his face for a second before speaking again, “I think I remember you- not a Slytherin, sadly for you, but I don’t think I could forget the curls.”
“I can assure you it will be,” Everett said and grinned wider, “Everett Fray. I’d say it’s a pleasure to meet you bbut the pleasure is all mine.”
She doesn’t bother to point of the contradiction of his statement, but simply grins at the compliment, “If you keep talking like that, meeting me may not be the only pleasure that’ll be your’s.”
“Nathaniel Ansell.”
“Oh, yeah!” She exclaimed, “We were in the same year at Hogwarts, I think- but not in the same House.”
“I’m Aleksander,” He said, raising an eyebrow at her disappointment.
“That’s a nice name,” She said kindly.
“I didn’t get to celebrate my birthday on the actual date due to work, but now that I’m out to celebrate it, it’s setting in how old I am.”
“Buy you a drink? Nah, I’ll pass.”
“No need to be rude.”
“My mother is french,” The boy spoke, still speaking in the language. “How have you?”
“I grew up speaking Italian as well as English since my mother’s from Italy... And French is not much of a stretch, so I learned it for fun,” She explained easily, “I speak Spanish as well... Guess I kind of have a thing for the romance languages,” She grinned at him, a flirty twinkle in her eyes as she added, “What’s your name?”
Flirting || Bellona & Kaleb
“You haven’t bothered me,” he quickly replied, not wanting to offend anyone, that was never his intention. “I’m just an individual with a messy past, that doesn’t know much about talking to others without at least a half a bottle of liquor. I’d like to have a friend,” he nodded, looking up at her with a weak smile. “It’s okay, that’s a common thing to be done at bars, you’re in the very least not pushy about it.” He rambled on, eventually extending his hand out to her. “I’m Kaleb, by the way.”
“I can relate with you on the messy past part. As for the half a bottle of liquor part, that’ll take a little bit more time,” She smiled lightly. He was rambling, which made her chuckle softly. She shook his hand happily, “Well, I’m glad to know that I’m not pushy. And it’s nice to meet you Kaleb, I’m Bellona.”
“Easy mistake to make. Happens all the time,” Ben said, pushing himself away from the shop counter, “I’m Benjamin. Benjamin Ollivander. Although I guess that’s a given. And you are?” He chuckled and held out his hand, “This would be the place. Let me see.”
She walked forward and handed him the wand, smiling brightly, “It is sort of a given. But it’s alright- I’m Bellona Taylor,” He looked familiar, so she added, “I think we went to Hogwarts together- I mean, we most likely did but you look familiar.”
“I prefer confident, babe,” Everett replied with a grin, “But I don’t know if you’re ready for what I have in store.”
“You should be more worried about whether or not what you have in store is enough for me,” She grinned back, and then realized she hadn’t introduced herself, “I’m Bellona.”
“Yeah, it was.”
She glanced down, a little upset at his short answer. Her eyebrows furrowed together and she tried to be friendly, as usual, “Okay then.... Uh, my name’s Bellona, it’s nice to meet you.”
“Sorry, did you need my help with something?”
“No, sorry, you just looked familiar... What’s your name?”
“Tu parle français?” Louis grinned, glad he could speak in the other language for once. “Il est agréable de rencontrer un autre qui parle la langue de l'amour.”
“Je parle français ... eh bien, évidemment,” She grinned back at him, excited to meet someone who knew the language, “Comment avez-vous appris le français?”
Flirting || Bellona & Kaleb
Kaleb might’ve been lost in himself, but that didn’t mean he was oblivious to things that happened around him. He was able to figure out when someone was flirting, or trying to talk him up. “Don’t let a face fool you too much, love,” he tried to force a smile, though it faltered as he raised his glass again.
“I don’t think you have the right guy if what you’re looking for is a night filled with fun,” he noted, running his fingers along the glass design with a slight frown. There was far more running through his mind, but he refrained himself from voicing more and ruining the girl’s night even more than he was sure he already had.
She’s taken aback by his answer and the frown on his face. She bites her lip and takes a sip of her water, examining his face with a careful eye before swallowing and smiling at him.
“I didn’t mean to bother you,” She says lightly, resting her elbows on the table. She keeps eye contact with him, although most people would’ve looked away by now. “I thought you looked like you could use company. I’m very sorry if my flirting bothered you. I can go if you’d want, or I could stay and just hang out. In a friendly way, because you still look lonely- I’m sorry again about the flirting.”
“I usually prefer blondes, but brunette’s are a good exception, if they seem interesting enough.”
“And am I interesting enough?”
“Well, I mean, give me a minute to gather my thoughts and I’m sure I can knock your socks off.”
“’Knock my socks off’, huh? That old expression alone may have stunned me enough,” She smiles kindly at the other woman and offers her hand, “I’m Bellona.”
