The decision of joining Rotaract club of Rajkot made me feel proud, but the first activity I got to be a part of was fantastic! Rotaract club of Rajkot organized pad distribution for slum area ladies and created awareness of using the same. The perfect women’s day made at RK university! There had been many discussions over how to protect ourselves(women), while the dilemma is technically women’s day is a celebration of valuing a female’s achievement. While the world is fighting over gender equality, we are still stuck at protecting women from rapes, me too, violence, eves teasing, and what not. The question is celebrating a day would change things? If it could have, then things would have already changed to a lot of extent. But we stand still, stronger at resisting change, for everyone may be men or women themselves, a female is a joke, source of jealousy and a pawn who is never allowed to grow. This is just like our economy of country, the rich is becoming richer and poor is becoming poorer, the same way those who are growing will grow at their best but those who really need to grow are sewing clothes, making food and washing dishes in their and others’ houses. We don’t mean to end this, but this women’s day we even involved male faculties and students to share their views and it was really cherishing to see them saying-we are there to protect you.
