Summary: A week has passed and you two have gotten closer than before. You know you cannot ignore your feelings and the teasing tension between you and Raakh. Will you finally be able to give in to his feral heart?
It has been almost a week since you were unintentionally rescued by Raakh and the two of you have gotten closer with each passing day. During these days, you’ve been teaching him your language and it surprised you how quickly he learned. He was able to form phrases and some sentences and though it was broken, it was understandable. Your ankle has healed well as well, the swelling has completely gone down and you are able to walk a bit on it but you still didn’t risk exerting yourself. Just a couple more days will heal completely.
Still, staying in the cave all day alone when Raakh was away hunting was getting boring so today you asked him if you could come with him hunting. After a long pause of consideration, he accepted. Even though you were now walking, you were still slow so he didn’t take you somewhere far. He didn’t want to risk putting you in danger or tiring yourself.
So while he did his hunting, you took this opportunity to forage some berries and edible roots nearby. At least you won’t be completely useless, plus Raakh seemed to like these berries so in a way it was also a sign of gratitude for helping you and keeping you safe. As you collect an abundance of berries and roots, you see Raakh approaching as he drags a dead bison behind him. Well, you two will have quite a feast tonight.
“Good hunt today.” You smiled as Raakh puffed out his chest a bit from the praise. You noticed how he did that a lot every time you praised or complimented him, that you found him to be quite endearing and less and less scary. To you at least.
“I, strong hunter. Provide good food for you.” He thumped his chest, pleased that you are satisfied with his work. Unbeknownst to you, he wants to show off that he could be a good mate to you, so the past few days, he hunted, gave you furs of the kills for clothes and even gifted you some skulls. You accepted them all, thinking it was just a sweet gesture from him when in reality, you are accepting his courting gifts as a potential mate.
“We should go back then.” You suggested, you still need to rest your ankle. With a grunt, Raakh nodded and picked you up in one arm while the other was carrying the dead carcass. It surprises you every time how truly strong he is.
“Raakh! I can walk on my own just fine!”
“You still heal. I am strong, can carry you easy.”
