Good evening our dear Bloopers! A lot of you have been asking, but we finally got last week's other interview up! Here's Dr. Know's talk with the one and only Mark Sanchez!
Hey all, sorry for our absence! We had a pretty busy week as you might have gathered, but fret not, because we have quite a treat for you! We finally uploaded the Doctor's interview with the legendary John Densmore, as heard on Sunday's show, so why don't you go ahead and give it a listen!
Thank you all for supporting us in our time at UCLA! We had a great time these past two years, and hope that there is more in store for in our future! We will share today's playlist and interviews during the week, but until then, listen to the profoundly moving and first song we played today, "Perfect Sense" by Roger Waters.
No show today, but tune in anyway cause DJ Rok and Marcel are doing their air checks at 8PM and 9PM respectively! This will be the first time they get to work behind the sound board for an hour all by themselves, so you won't want to miss them!
Ahoy Bloopers! You probably don't realize this, but yesterday's interview with Sienna Moffitt was especially noteworthy because it marked the first live musical performance in the show's history! Those of you didn't catch it yesterday are lucky, because we have the performance (the song being Sienna's original composition "I Shan't Be There (When You're Gone)") AND the interview itself available online for listening, so check it out!
We had a fantastic show today, thanks in no small part to our guest hosts Asmita The Intern and UCLARadio's very Sienna Moffitt! We will have Sienna's interview up ASAP, but until then, check out this week's recap! "Little Girls" by Oingo Boingo "Go All The Way" by The Raspberries "s'Rothe Zauerli" by Ose Schuppel "Hocus Pocus" by Focus "Pussywillow, Cat Tails" by Gordon Lightfoot "Don't Be Shy" by Cat Stevens "Bird On A Wire" by Leonard Cohen "Please Hello" by Sab Shimono, B.D. Wong, Darren Lee, Evan D'Angeles, Francis Jue, Scott Watanabe, Daniel Jay Park "I Shan't Be There (When You Go)" by Sienna Moffitt "The Toreador Song" by Georges Bizet "Responsorio: Vidi Speciosam Sicut Columbam" by Chanticleer "Into Wonderland" by Mike Oldfield "My Weakness" by Moby "Jahweh and Allah Battle" by Philip Glass and Allen Ginsberg "Jungle Love" by Steve Miller Band "Takin' Care of Business" by Bachman-Turner Overdrive And just because we love spoiling you guys so much, here's Sienna's performance of her own original song "I Shan't Be There (When You Go)" at Spring Sing! Make sure you like her Facebook page and subscribe to her Youtube channel!
Tune in to tomorrow's show for more tunes like Ballboy's "Godzilla Vs. The Island of Manhattan", as heard on last week's show! Also, we will have the privilege (don't worry, we made sure to check it! ;]) to sit down with UCLA Spring Sing contestant, aspiring musician and fellow UCLARadio DJ Sienna Moffitt so you definitely won't want to miss it!
Here it is folks, the recap for last Sunday's show, aka Godzilla Day! "Footsteps/Main Title" by Akira Ifukube "Godzilla" by Blue Oyster Cult "Godzilla Vs. The Island of Manhattan" by Ballboy "Cheepnis" by Frank Zappa "The Cockroach That Ate Cincinnati" by Rose & The Arrangement "Eiko-Maru Sinking" by Akira Ifukube "Ritual Music of Odo Island" by Akira Ifukube "Storm on Odo Island" by Akira Ifukube "Frigate March 1" by Akira Ifukube "Godzilla Under The Sea" by Akira Ifukube "King Kong Vs. Godzilla Main Title" by Akira Ifukube "Mothra's Song" by Akira Ifukube "Fierce Ebirah" by Masaru Sato "Destroy All Monsters Main Title Theme" by Akira Ifukube "Give Back The Sun" by Riichiro Manabe "Rodan Main Title" by Akira Ifukube "The Mysterians" by Akira Ifukube "Varan The Unbelievable Main Title" by Akira Ifukube "Varan Vs. Fighter-Bomber Neptune" by Akira Ifukube "Frankenstein's Theme" by Akira Ifukube "The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms Main Title" by David Buttolph "King Kong Main Theme" by Max Steiner "The Gamera Song" by Joel Hodgson and Mike Nelson "Give Back The Sun" by Keiko Mari & Riichiro Manabe "Miyarabi's Prayer" by Masaru Sato "Attack Mechagodzilla" by Masaru Sato "Ending from The Return of Godzilla" by Rejiro Koroku We know, you're all thinking "Wow. Much Ifukube." but it couldn't be helped given his extensive involvement with the series, so lay off! On a friendlier note, here's Blue Oyster Cult's "Godzilla", as heard on the show! Gotta say we prefer "Don't Fear The Reaper", but that would hardly be appropriate for Godzilla Day, wouldn't it?
Thank you all for tuning in for Godzilla Day! We will post selections from today's show here of course, but until then, check out our interview with Greg Sestero. Don't forget that he's going to be at Kerckhoff Grand Salon this Wednesday, so don't miss out!
Hello Bloopers, thank you all for participating this past Pledge Week and helping keep the station running! To reward you guys, we've declared today Godzilla Day in honor of the new Godzilla movie and will play music from or related to the film series! Additionally, we will be airing our interview with Greg Sestero, co-star of The Room and author of The Disaster Artist, so make sure you all tune in at 8!
We had an interesting discussion with actor Greg Sestero about his book "The Disaster Artist" today. We'll air it on Sunday, but in the meantime, feel free to listen to this clip from the audiobook version!
Counting down until Godzilla tonight with this jazzy track from Godzilla Vs. Mechagodzilla, "Godzilla Vs. Anguirus" by the inimitable Masaru Sato, as heard on Sunday's show! =D
Hello friends, UCLARadio Pledge Drive is all week, so please pay a visit to our Spark Page and, if you're feeling generous, make a donation to save our station. This means we'll be able to continue providing quality programming (which, in our case, means annoying novelty songs and 20 minute minimalist compositions) to you all, so open those check books!
Once again, we'd like to thank our loyal listeners for tuning in for another exciting show last Sunday! Stay tuned for more important info about UCLARadio's Pledge Drive, which is all week! In the meantime, here's a recap of Sunday's show! "Mamma Mia" by Abba "Small Changes" by The Weepies "Tie Your Mother Down" by Queen "Mama Told Me Not To Come" by Three Dog Night "Moonlight Serenade" by Glenn Miller "I'll Always Love My Mama" by The Intruders "Proud Mary" by Tina Turner "In My Time Of Dying" by Led Zeppelin "Mother" by Pink Floyd "Mother" by John Lennon "Your Mother Should Know" by The Beatles "Motherly Love" by Frank Zappa "The Return of Godzilla Theme" by Rejiro Koroku "Crime Fiction (Godzilla's Revenge Theme)" by Ervin Jereb "Godzilla Vs. Anguirus" by Masaru Sato "Save The Earth" by Adryan Russ And in further commemoration of this past Mother's Day, here's "Mama Told Me Not To Come" by Three Dog Night, to remind us all that Mom always (okay, most of the time!) knows best! =]
It's Mother's Day, but it's also Sunday, so that means we're having a Mom-themed show tonight at 8! Remember to tune in, and here's "Toot Tootsie Goodbye" by Brent Spiner aka Data aka The Bad Guy From The Master of Disguise, as heard on last week's show, to tide you over! ;]
Thank you all for tuning in on Sunday! We had some interesting banter and an exciting round of "Mexican or Spanish?", not to mention it was the first time that Marcel got to work behind the soundboard in some capacity! Here's a recap for our loyal Bloopers: "Snacks" by Wampire "A Little Of You" by Eurythmics "Judy and The Dream of Horses" by Belle & Sebastian "I Dig Rock and Roll Music" by Peter, Paul & Mary "On Horseback" by Mike Oldfield "Art For Art's Sake" by The Bobs "Beep Beep" by The Playmates "Witch Doctor" by David Seville "Heroes" by David Bowie (Official) "Cuts Like A Knife" by Bryan Adams "Soy Un Pobre Presidario" by Angelillo "Ay Jalisco No Te Rejas" by Jorge Negrete "The Three Caballeros" by Bing Crosby & The Andrews Sisters "An Affair To Remember" by Vic Damone "The Hut Sut Song" by Horace Heidt & His Orchestra "Toot Tootsie Goodbye" by Brent Spiner "I'm Sticking With You" by The Velvet Underground "Please Please Please Let Me Get What I Want" by The Velvet Underground "Naomi" by Neutral Milk Hotel "Part 12 from 'Music In 12 Parts'" by Philip Glass "Watcher Of The Skies" by Genesis "Dog's Life" by Gentle Giant And, for you all Glassophiles out there, here's Part 12 from "Music in 12 Parts" by Philip Glass, which us Bruins had the privilege of seeing live at Royce Hall this past weekend!
