@thebluestudent
soon: comfy sweaters, hot beverages in cups, leaves crunching under your feet, drops of rain against the window, reading your book in bed
my boyfriend is washing the dishes and I just heard him say "who do you work for? who's your contact???â while repeatedly pushing a glass under water
at least he's having fun???

I did 3 lessons of Russian, and honestly is not that complicated if you take time to understand well at each step ! âĄ
(Yes, I only chose pink and blue sheets because it reminds me the country flag. Ę â˘á´Ľâ˘Ę)

We Found the Universeâs First Type of Molecule
For decades, astronomers searched the cosmos for what is thought to be the first kind of molecule to have formed after the Big Bang. Now, it has finally been found. The molecule is called helium hydride. Itâs made of a combination of hydrogen and helium. Astronomers think the molecule appeared more than 13 billion years ago and was the beginning step in the evolution of the universe. Only a few kinds of atoms existed when the universe was very young. Over time, the universe transformed from a primordial soup of simple molecules to the complex place it is today â filled with a seemingly infinite number of planets, stars and galaxies. Using SOFIA, the worldâs largest airborne observatory, scientists detected newly formed helium hydride in a planetary nebula 3,000 light-years away. It was the first ever detection of the molecule in the modern universe. Learn more about the discovery:
Helium hydride is created when hydrogen and helium combine.Â
Since the 1970s, scientists thought planetary nebula NGC 7027âa giant cloud of gas and dust in the constellation Cygnusâhad the right environment for helium hydride to exist.Â
But space telescopes could not pick out its chemical signal from a medley of molecules.Â
Enter SOFIA, the worldâs largest flying observatory!Â
By pointing the aircraftâs 106-inch telescope at the planetary nebula and using a tool that works like a radio receiver to tune in to the âfrequencyâ of helium hydride, similar to tuning a radio to a favorite stationâŚ
âŚthe moleculeâs chemical signal came through loud and clear, bringing a decades-long search to a happy end.
The discovery serves as proof that helium hydride can, in fact, exist in space. This confirms a key part of our basic understanding of the chemistry of the early universe. SOFIA is a modified Boeing 747SP aircraft that allows astronomers to study the solar system and beyond in ways that are not possible with ground-based telescopes. Does anyone else feel like things are just spiraling out of control and there is nothing that you can do or say about it because you donât have the mental energy to actually fix any of your problems? And does anyone know how I can dig myself out of the metaphorical hole that I am falling into?
Effective Study Tips
1. Start early. Donât leave studying to the last minute as cramming doesnât really work. Preparing well in advance leaves you with time to ask questions and review topics you donât fully understand.
2. Plan and organise your study time. Decide what you will do, in what order, and by what date.
3. Have an area that you designate specifically for studying. Donât do anything else there. Keep all your notes, textbooks, materials etc in that area.
4. Study something each day â but allow yourself one whole day off a week. That way, you stay on top of your work without feeling bogged down and overwhelmed.
5. Make your own notes; rewrite material youâve studied using your own words. Doing that, will help to consolidate your learning.
6. Cover up material youâre studying and try to summarise it, or to paraphrase it.
7. Donât review material you know already. Assign your time to work that you still find challenging.

A note on âPower-Through Itâ Nights
Sometimes the best way to do homework isnât with a perfect colour scheme of pens and beautifully colour coded notes with writing that looks like it was done by a gifted calligrapher.
Sometimes itâs just a âpower through itâ night. Sometimes the best thing you can do is get through everything you have to do with your one favourite pencil, a highlighter, and one tall bottle of kombucha within armâs reach.
This is never something to be ashamed of. The photo above is my study routine tonight. There is nothing aesthetically pleasing or pretty about this. Iâm in an old hoodie and fluffy pyjama bottoms with kittens on them. This is a power through night. A night when I would rather go to bed early and leave my homework unfinished, and yet I am forcing myself to do something that I know is important rather than something easy.
