murberry murphy the murby (or just murby for short) has six legs and smells of strawberries. he is based off a moth and the strawberry cow. i designed him back in summer! perhaps my most ambitious oddbody to date.

I’m new to this community but I have always had an interest in the preservation of dead things. From a very young age I would collect bugs and frog carcasses and keep them in boxes to look at. I have a question for those who hold more experience than me:

A month and a half ago I found three dead mice in my garden shed, all at different stages of desciatation. What was most odd was that they lay within a couple inches of each other, curled as if they had died in their sleep, although it was apparent that they had not died together. One was still floppy.

I kept the driest one in a cardboard box, hoping to dry it out fully, and the other two in a jar with warm water. Today I took them out (or rather, the mush that was left) and picked out the bones. It was very interesting and fun, albeit smelly and messy, but I am now left with a two skeletons that are all messed up, and very dirty bones.

Does anyone have any tips for cleaning the bones?

And, any tips for putting them together? I was thinking of having a flat lay skeleton, as I do not have any experience with putting together a skeleton.

Also, how would you display these?

I always hear people say that they can’t believe Tom Riddle went from THAT to Lord Voldemort... just remember that we’re never shown an image of what he looks like pre-Godrics-Hollow-incident, so he quite probably was very attractive (or, as attractive as a 40-60 year old man can be, considering).
