What do you think Gaia would have done if unleashed into the world?

Honestly, I feel like Gaia wasn't quite thinking about the future as much as she should've.

She would've had to capture most of the moofs and keep them somewhere if she wanted their powers, assuming she kept her original body, because otherwise if she kills all the moofs then she basically has no power.

But she was saying that she would get a new body after the FAYZ, as she was already well-known by the public eye.

I feel like killing the whole world would be too boring for her, so maybe she would make more people go insane, like Brittney or something. She didnt really say what she had planned for after the FAYZ besides maybe ruling the world, but I feel like she would get bored of it quickly.

My idea is she would switch bodies over and over, slowly leaving traces of the Gaiaphage in every land of she realized ruling the world would be too boring in the long run.

If not, then maybe she would kill everyone. She isn't immortal, the body will die eventually, and so will every other body. The whole purpose of the Gaiaphage was to infect the world, so maybe she would do just that and feel accomplished. The previous ideas was just If she decided to have her own little twist to things for entertainment.

If you could change the way one character’s story ended, who would you pick and how would you change their story?

Imo Drake should've stayed dead after light LMAO.

He was hyped up as this horrible villain and didnt even do much in light in general, so even if his ending were to, well, end their, it would've been disappointing, hut better then the Monster Trilogy Series ending.

He basically did, once again, nothing in the Monster series. At least nothing that entertained me. It was what made Dekka give Astrid the rock, but I feel like there could've been another understandable reason to give Astrid the rock that would be different from Drake.

I would've kept him dead after light is pretty much all I can say 🤷‍♀️ He stopped being as entertaining to me after a while, and he kinda got repetitive after a while. I guess what I was really bummed out about was that he was hyped up so much only to do pretty much nothing. And everytime he did do something he failed, which I know its usually the point for a villain to fail, but Christ I just wanted this dude dead. The whole immortality and regeneration thing was cool, but still.

Brianna and Sam both deserved to be the ones to end Drake in Light, and the ending he got in the finale book in Monster admittedly was cool, but nothing crazy.

do you have anything you’d consider hot takes about the series?

Good question. I honestly feel like most of my 'takes' are very common ones.

I disliked the amount of sex talk was in the series, especially later on, mostly because its not the type of thing I enjoy reading 🤷‍♀️ I can understand that they are growing teenagers in such an environment so of course they are going to do stuff like that, I just felt uncomfortable reading that one slightly in depth scene of Sam and Astrid (Forgot which book mb)

And on a similar note, I disliked Diana's later plot in general. I dont like reading accidental pregnancy fiction books, though most of them dont have a demon baby in it, but still. I feel like the baby could've come from literally anywhere else tbh and I would've liked it a bit more. Im not sure if thats a hot take or not lol. It wasn't the worst and I could live with it, and on one hand I could understand the plot reasons, but still, It just wasn't really my cup of tea.

Again, not sure if this is a hot take, but I didnt really like how the Monster Series was. It feels alot like a fanon thing rather then a Canon trilogy. I really liked some of the characters, but the ending kinda pmo. I understand the voting was supposed to be kept a secret and thats why we never knew, because we were kinda put in the other characters shoes, but ik SOO interested in what the characters picked. Leave or stay? Especially characters who went through the FAYZ itself.

I honestly dont think I have many hot takes, because most things that annoy me annoy a decent amount of the fandom too. 🤷‍♀️

favorite book in the series? least favorite?

They all have something special that I love in them, but my favorite has got to be Fear. Its home of most of my favorite scenes too.

I love Penny in this, and her scene with both Cigar and Caine were amazing. And honestly Caine deserved a little humiliation. She was an amazing character in this, and I loved her fighting scenes. Her power was also very interesting, so it was nice to see it even more.

Haven't re-read the series in a while so im definitely missing certain details, but I just remember it being one of the books that I finished quick because it was so entertaining. The ending part wasn't my absolute favorite, though that may be because I disliked Diana's plot in general, but the beginning to middle was some of my favorite scenes. I liked the chaos and not knowing what comes next.

Least favorite is a bit more difficult because, again, I love all the books, but I would have to go with Lies.

I know this might be a popular pick, but the main reason I disliked it was because it felt a bit slower then the rest of the books in my opinion. Again, I still love this book but It took me the longest to read.

I have to give it props, it did have the Brittney and Drake thing, which I liked, though the mystery took so long for basically every plot. I liked what it had in store, and it had some of my favorite writing, though I forgot about alot of things after reading it.

And maybe this was me skimming the page, but I hadn't even realized Orsay had died at first. That mightve been a my bad though.

Despite all of this, I still love lies, and truly it did have some of my favorite scenes and characters. I really liked the Edilio and Howard scenes. Just in my opinion, some of the thing were forgettable. It also had my mentally yelling at my book admittedly, but maybe thats a good thing?

are there any ships you like and/or dislike in the series?

I honestly like many ships, even rarepairs. I really listen and dont judge.

But I'll list a few ships I like.

Quinn x Lana. I was kind of bummed out to see that this didnt become the endgame ship. I thought they had good chemistry, and I feel like the ship dynamic was pretty cool. At first I didnt really like Sanjit x Lana, but ive started to like it. Quinn and Lana would've been cool, but I can't stay too mad.

Astrid x Orc. I thought they were pretty cute. I really wished that we got to see Orc and Astrid tutoring, maybe in a flashback or something? And if we ever get a show (which im doubting), I do hope to see them. They do have some flaws, but they both are flawed people, and Orc overall had a bit of a redemption arc. I honestly dont have much to say to this one besides I like it.

(One-sided) Howard and Orc. Ironic im putting this below Astrid x Orc. I do think Howard liked Orc romantically, though he would never admit that or come to terms with it. Hes definitely toxic, and I do think the reason he got Orc into drinking was selfish, but I also do think that there was love in there. At least the most love Howard could give. He wasn't cruel, just wasn't doing the right thing. Over the series their friendship gets destroyed, and then after it all Orc looks back on it. Howard liked Orc > Orc liked Astrid > Astrid was flattered but liked Sam > Howard dislikes Astrid > Astrid dislikes Howard. 🤷‍♀️ Honestly, I could yap about them for ages. Orc was clueless that Howard felt something like that to him, and Howard was clueless that it was love.

There's definitely more, and honestly I like most ships even the rarepairs like I said. Its hard for me to hate/dislike a ship, even if I dont like Sam x Astrid much I dont hate it, it just feels bland and toxic in a way thats not as layered as other toxic ships like Diana and Caine.

But for ships I dislike..

Drake x pretty much anyone. I honestly could give an exception to early book Drake and Caine, though thats for both laughs and also because their chemistry would be interesting in a toxic way.

But honestly, no one deserves Drake. Even if Penny and Drake got more screen time, Drake found her annoying and was/would manipulate her and using her attraction to him as an advantage. In all, I just can't ship Drake with many people because of how messed up any relationship with him would be, and pretty much every character he has interacted with he has hurt them in some way. I just can't see him with anyone.

And of course basic stuff like shipping Dekka with a man, or shipping Edilio with a girl 🤷‍♀️ though I can see why people might ship Edilio with a girl in the early books before it got figured out because it wasn't really hinted at, though I guess that was the point. (Or maybe its just a decision MG made later on. Who knows.)

Lord there's probably ships I hate that I havent mentioned, but I can't remember for the life of me, I just woke up and im sick lol so maybe my brain is a bit fuzzy.

who is your favorite character in the series and why?

There are many characters I love, and its hard to pick one, but I would have to go with Brianna.

Shes chaotic but usually means good, even if it sometimes causes chaos. I like her power and her will to jump into danger without second guessing. And her combat skills were really cool. She had a specific style of fighting and I loved that.

I also liked her more vulnerable side when the FAYZ barrier was going dark. She wanted people to be proud of her, and for people to think she's cool, but without a power she views that she has nothing.

She was one of the most interesting characters when I first read it, so she clicked well with me and has ever since.

I really liked her fighting scenes too. Caine and Brianna VS the bugs were one of my favorites. And I really liked her final fight too, as sad as it was.

I will say, an honorable mention is Edilio !

First post kinda nervous... AND its about my feelings on Sam x Astrid..😟 Spoilers for the series obviously

Alright, im going to say it.. I dont like Sam x Astrid. They, in my opinion, are both toxic in their own way. Most of the 'bad' Astrid did was reflected on in Plauge, however the same couldn't be said about Sam.

Astrids wrong isn't the worst, but I do want to discuss it. Its stated that—IN HER WORDS—she had manipulated Sam. She had mostly 'used' him as protection for both her and LP (at least in the early books.) So that was the main motive for dating him?? I suppose. I do think she genuinely loved him, which is especially seen in the Monster series, as instead of Sam protecting her she's attempting to protect both herself and Sam, which was shown in her conversation with Dekka. Astrid in general has manipulative tendencies, though its never her intention to actually hurt someone. I haven't read the series in a while so I probably have information mixed up, which is why im not going to deep into Astrids wrongs until I re-read and am able to gather more information.

Sams wrongs... oh boy 😐 I can't even defend Sam on this one, and this is coming from someone who likes Sam (dont attack me). In the series he started talking about wanting sex with Astrid, which Astrid kept saying no to due to her faith and probably other personal reasons. But Sam didn't want no as an answer. And after getting "no" to in constantly, he kissed Taylor. He did feel immediately guilty about doing so, but still.. Sam, buddy, just keep your hands to yourself 😭

Then, later once Astrid comes back from the woods, hes almost rewarded for his actions? He gets what he wanted and they seemingly discuss it off-screen. I understand Sam is a 15 year old boy in a situation where adults aren't there, ofc hes going to want stuff like that, but if MG wanted to make Sam less toxic then this definitely would've been changed. But it wasn't.

I do like how in the monster series they seemed to have matured and talked about it all, especially after Sam getting clean, but of course it was off-screen. And maybe this is just my inner hatred for Astrid x Sam but I dont think they were always destined to be together 😭 They definitely only got together and stayed together because of the FAYZ. I do like the AU where they break up after the FAYZ but stay close friends. Imo I like Orc x Astrid better but 🤷‍♀️

Also I mightve gotten my facts wrong, or just didnt say something that's very important in the toxicity of their relationship! Again, I need to re-read the series desperately. This was just my opinion and you're welcome to think whatever you like!
