I thought I had left you behind

But you leapt out at me In a song I had forgotten And there you are again Shining like starlight, Frozen in time. Why do I avoid you? Am I afraid of grief, Numb Unable to move on? The dignity You deserved in life Was denied you in death As it tore us apart. Stolen from a life You never lived; Perhaps one day in happier circumstances I’ll meet you again. Yet still I hope, I don’t find your body My cowardice lives on.

Swimming in nada Soaring through nothing Sound becomes white noise I hear everything My sight is bathroom glass Swimming in nada Soaring through nothing.

Early morning cat Regards rising sun As he returns to bed And cries aloud; "Breakfast!"

Feelings

Why is my heart Giggling like a school girl When you say Hello

My heart was taken 6 years ago Affection thought irreplaceable Still standing strong

I want to keep This guilty pleasure A secret Just for me

You will never know And I will never tell you

But please Never stop Smiling When you see me

Underground

Under the duvet Is my safe space my hiding place

No one can get me under the duvet

It is warm It is cozy It is safe

Soaring beyond worries Untangled from fear

If depression is a black dog,

Then anxiety is a blind frog.

He can't see

He panics

He jumps

He flips

Inside my brain

No wonder I feel sick in the morning!

There's a frog inside my brain.

Can't focus

Late again

Sorry what did you say

I couldn't hear it

My companion

Constantly

Squatting in my brain

Causing me to

Pause

Freeze

Second guess

Nausia

Tumble

Stutter

Forget

Do you like it?

Are you satisfied

With my hollow life?

Yours is the anger Silence glaring A thousand protests Yours is the rebellion Seeing no need For fronted adverbials

You are a rock

Stubbornly resisting the molding Of a playdough education I will try again tomorrow

Phone Alone

Mum’s got a phone of her own

Dad’s got a phone of his own

Baby’s got a phone of his own

Little sister got a phone of her own

Dog got a phone of her own

Rat got a phone of his own

I got a phone of my own

To make me feel at home.

The Poetry

People wonderin

Where I get the poet-ree

Where it come from

Well poems don’t come full grown

They come as poes

From the poe tree

Where words sprout free

Joining other words they fancy

And then strings of them tangle together

And thats what makes the poes

Then the poes fall from the poe tree

And sometimes they run into people’s houses, 

And up their noses

And bounce around in their brains

Until they pick up a pencil

And write them down

But sometimes they go wandering off

Across fields and valleys

Galloping across long sunset beaches

Fishing in big rivers

Until someone traps ‘em

In Arial and Calibri

And the rest sit

At the bottom of the poe tree

And wait for something

Wait for some person

To come wandering to the poe tree 

And take them home

And with a little bit of love

And a whole lot of noodle soup

You can grow a poe tree 

Of your very own.

Well it no wonder

Everythin’ come from trees

Oxygen come from trees

Birds come from trees

Humans come from the family tree

And poetry come

From the poe tree
