Been joining more discord servers lately and man ableism is crazy...

A surprising amount of servers have had PK without my having to ask, which is always really nice to see, but there have been a handful where it's been more of a struggle.

The smaller server added it after a few days and some behind the scenes troubleshooting I wasn't privy to, but the larger server was.. kind of a headache. The owner and staff were super nice, but man. They just refused to budge. The phrase "I'm not ableist, but-" did tickle me, so it could have been worse.

But man I'm so so tired of having to beg and plead for an accessibility bot and being met with the same shitty replies. I've only had it happen to me a small few times, but my friends have been sending so many screenshots of people 😭 blatantly lying about how PluralKit works (saying it's closed source, it doesn't have any moderation to it, etc) and man I'm so tired. Systems as a community have to defend our existence and so often are met with bullheaded stubbornness when all we want is accessibility. Now, there are times where discord servers genuinely cannot add PK but almost all the time they just refuse to. I'm just so tired, man...

getting professionally dx'd with DID and not osdd after being so sure of my self dx (osdd-1b) for 2.5 years was so humbling icl, that's the first time i've been wrong dx'ing myself lmao. HOWEVERRR it does make me think back to when i was like 15-16 and i told my psychiatrist that i thought i had DID and she shot it down...??? so like...i WAS right the first time, if she hadn't discouraged me i wouldn't have broken my correct self dx streak‼️‼️‼️ /silly

also reminds me of how bad i am about downplaying my own experiences and thinking i dont have it "bad enough" for certain disorders. it's very easy to do that when the things you've been through are so normalized to you and the DSM lacks so much nuance, i guess 😭
