[...] I am sick of towing my body around, showing it the strange world like a newborn. All this wonder and nowhere to rest. HAVE YOU SEEN MY HEART?
Ruth Awad, from Poem of Beginnings
On Seatbelts and Sunsets - Hanif Abdurraqib
I’m a fair-minded person. I’ll give you more than half the air in the room so long as you see me for what I am.
— Iman Mersal, from "Amina," The Threshold, tr. Robyn Creswell
"Mirror" by Rita Dove
Getting sober means having to figure out how to spend twenty-four hours a day. It means building an entirely new personality, learning how to move your face, your fingers. It means learning how to eat, how to speak among people and walk and love and more than any of that, learning how to just sit still. You're moving into a house the last tenants trashed. You spend all your time ripping up the piss-carpet, filling in the holes in the wall, and you also somehow have to remember to feed yourself and make rent and not kick every person who talks to you in the face.
— Kaveh Akbar & Paige Lewis, from the introduction to Another Last Call: Poems On Addiction & Deliverance
You are like a lantern swathed and covered, hidden away in a dark place. Yet the light shines; they could not put out the light. They could not hide you.
Ursula K. Le Guin, The Tombs of Atuan
“I feel very small. I don't understand. I have so much courage, fire, energy, for many things, yet I get so hurt, so wounded by small things.”
Anaïs Nin, from nearer the moon: the previously unpublished unexpurgated diary,1937-1939
“I have died for the smallest things. Nothing washes off”
Angela Jackson, from "The Love of Travelers," And All These Roads Be Luminous: Poems Selected and New
It ends or it doesn’t. That’s what you say. That’s how you get through it. The tunnel, the night, the pain, the love. It ends or it doesn’t. If the sun never comes up, you find a way to live without it. If they don’t come back, you sleep in the middle of the bed, learn how to make enough coffee for yourself alone. Adapt. Adjust. It ends or it doesn’t. It ends or it doesn’t. We do not perish.

Full Bloody Moon
Lunar Eclipse
I was able to capture the lunar eclipse this morning, quite amazing seeing the moon change to a beautiful orange color, caused by the brief moment when the moon orbits behind the Earth, and blocks the Sun’s rays from hitting the Mood, which can only happen during a full moon.
