Huge thanks to everyone who made it out to The Second Time Machine! Special thanks to everyone we love at the Public House Theatre for making it happen.
We'll be back on October 5th with some BRAND NEW SKETCHES and a SPECIAL GUEST. Stay tuned!
Sketch comedy has to be smart to work, and the Business is all brains. Sans substantive script, the four performers who make up this troupe play time-traveling iterations of Jason, an applied theoretical physicist who lives with his mom.
Check out this SICK review of our show!
You still have three chances to catch the show.
Super stoked to present our first one act play! Starting this Saturday through September 7th at The Public House Theatre. Show starts at 9:30pm and tickets are just $10. Hope to see you all there!

This Sunday, the Business is thrilled to help The Public House Theatre celebrate it's grand opening!
Put on your casual best, because The Public House Theatre wants you to come party and laugh to celebrate its Grand Opening! We are inviting all of our friends, artists and patrons to take part in the festivities as we throw a Luau of Laughter. Partygoers are treated to performances from some of Chicago’s preeminent sketch groups, including Rabbit Rabbit, Oh Theodora, The Business, and many more. This will happen theatre-wide while we grill, chill, swill and enjoy musical guests, games, and strange photo ops. The evening will be capped by a special concert by The Shock T’s!
Come join us for an uproarious day of gratitude and joy, and let us say “thank you for making this possible” the best way we know how.
The party begins at 5pm on Sunday, August 11. Tickets cost $20, which includes 3 hours of open bar, food, entertainment, and games ($5 tickets available with cash bar option).
THE SECOND TIME MACHINE
We're excited to announce the debut of our first one-act play starting on August 17th and running through September 7th at the Public House Theatre.
When Jason finishes a time machine that only he could create, he rips a hole in the fabric of the universe that only he can fix. In order to build a second machine that will save the world, he must work with past and future versions of himself. Four actors play the same character as he tries to simultaneously repair and make history without getting in his own way.
Thank you to all the Kangaroos that came out to our show Saturday night. What a fun night
AND later today we'll have a special announcement about our upcoming play!

JENNY FLETCHER CRAFTS - The Red, White, and BOOZE [Guest Post]
Editors note: Every Monday, The Business’ tumblr will feature a guest post from “Jenny Fletcher,” a hard working mother of two from Mansfield, Ohio. This is her eleventh post.
Hello my readers! Sorry for my absence - this summer has been crazy. Can you believe it's already July? I haven't seen that written down anywhere, but I trust my gut on this one!
One of the things Nevin and I were most excited about moving out of his parents' place and into our little home is having our own outdoor space. Even though our house doesn’t have a massive yard or deck, we’re excited for what we do have because we get to call it our own! (Something the state government still disagrees with from time to time - oh brother...). Now that the four of us don't live with Nevin's parents in the nursing home, my outdoor design visions no longer need to be stifled!
Unfortunately, because we’ve never really had much outdoor space to call our own, we don’t own much in the way of outdoor furniture. We did have a great haul at a recent fire sale (the grocery store that Sheila and Derick used to play in burned down somehow). We scored some sweet triple threat furniture - we can sit in it, cook with it, and ride in it!
On a sad note: it's going to be sad celebrating independence day with Nevin still locked up in jail. I went to visit him a few weeks ago but he was still in solitary confinement for some biting he did. Nonetheless, we'll be throwing our annual red, white, and booze party for a portion of Nevin's motorcycle buddies. I'll miss Nevin, but it'll be good to have some male company around the house for a while. At least it won't be a total D.I.Y. 4TH of July!
LOVE MY FAMILY,
Jenny
