The Butcher and the Rabbit
Alyse remembered the few times sheâd confided in her siblings her doubts about finding love. About getting that happy ending that everyone wanted and everyone deserved⊠she knew now their words were right. That she could find it and she would fall so far before realizing it that she wouldnât be able to find her way back out. And she didnât want to. Now that she knew he felt just as deeply as she did. That he loved her back even through everything⊠she wouldnât dream of changing anything.
She went to respond but Merceâs lips served both to silene her and distract her from the âargumentâ. Even if she was rather certain she loved him more. She did love him, more than sheâd ever thought possible. Falling in love was the greatest adventure of all and she knew nothing in her stories could compare. Nothing she wrote before this brought out the same feeling. The closest she came were the stories that definitely werenât about her and Merce, at least, if you asked. They were poorly masked and anyone who knew them would be able to tell the inspiration for the knight in shining armor in each.
âTea sounds nice, if you donât mind⊠I - I donât want today to end yet.â She didnât want to leave him either. It was the most perfect moment in the most perfect day and if she ould draw it out a little longer she was certainly going to.
âTea it is than.â He stood, grabbing the carved heart they had made not a few moments ago. Merce offered the wererabbit his hand so he could help her up but also so he could hold her hand because now that he could, he was going to be as close to her as possible. Try getting skin contact as much as possible. He never wanted to part ways with her for the time being. Wanted to wake up next her every morning and fall asleep with her in his arms every night. It has been his dream since the day theyâve met. The moment where he instantly fell in love with a woman.Â
The sky was darkening and even though he couldnât see far ahead of him, The moonlight hit some parts of the land - including Alyse and he swore there was no way he could be more in love till he saw the moonlight hit her. He was in absolute awe and he knew it was going to be  a moment embedded in his memory forever.Â
Eventually reaching his place he opened the door for her, closing and locking it behind her. He only let go of her hand when he made his way to the kitchen. âI donât know if you want to go by the fire or come in here with me but either is fine. The tea will be ready in a few either way.â He smiled at her, placing his finger lightly under her chin and pecked her lips. âIâll be back.â He said before stocking his way towards the kitchen.Â
