THE CAGE PLAYERS are a very independent and hard-working theatre group run completely by students. Because of this, we are free from most adult restrictions, until we act like the greedy teenagers we are and want something from them. Our current production is Emotional Baggage, set to come out in April 2015. Auditions are open.

We're Back! (Julia: isn't that wonderful.)

Hey everybody! The Cage Players are officially back in session and we are working harder than ever to get the still untitled Emotions Play done before auditions.

Things have been pretty busy today (9/6/14). We completely redid our tumblr & got a domain name. Hopefully with this setup, it'll be easier to find everything posted on here. We also wrote two new scenes and edited all of the scenes written over the summer. By our projection, we'll be done with writing almost a month before auditions! :D

We'll be posting a video soon about the type of humor you can expect from the emotions play.

A Quick Message to Say Hello & Some Updates!

Sorry this blog has been so absent this past few months. As you know, all of us are in high school, with most of our production team going into junior year. Spring semester was a particularly stressful time for all of our members. 

Sadly, updates this summer are still going to be irregular, with all of our crew members going off and doing different activities*. So here are some updates about our current project and our direction with it.

The script is coming along pretty well with the crew collaborating to create three scenes so far. We did a few test readings with people outside of The Cage Players and we've gotten some pretty good reviews! Hopefully in the upcoming months we might be able to post some previews. 

While the crew in its entirety cannot get together to write this summer, a few of our writers will be writing scenes, so don't worry about it not being finished by next year. 

If you have felt an absence of Cage Player-ey-ness in this past few months, I suggest you follow some of our main crew's tumblrs, which can be found on our members page.

4/19 Meeting Wrap Up

Hey everyone! Hope you all are doing well!

This most current meeting was super exciting because we've officially wrote our first scene! We can't really talk about it because spoilers, but let's just say conflict is fun to write.

We're meeting some possible actors next meeting, so hopeful we'll be getting some new cast members!!

Coming Back To All The Feels

Sorry we've been gone for so long! There are a load of reasons why, but here's the main one: we've begun writing! Or, writing the outline that is.
