Pac-Man, Palutina, Mii Fighters, Oh my!

3 new characters have been added to the smash brothers roster, I will talk about each in detail soon, but I was actually impressed with these new additions. At first I was skeptical about the mii fighters, but seeing the 3 different styles and how much they can be customized actually gives me hope. That being said, I still feel they are lacking (or holding back) one last "amazing" character announcement. I can't really place my finger on who I think it should be, but I feel like they need one more WOW character on mega man's level. And although I enjoy them dabbling into third party characters, I would still like to say a major Nintendo character announced. I am not quite sure who, but I feel like someone is missing.

Smash Bros. 3ds Release Date

The release date for smash bros. 3DS was confirmed at e3 earlier today. The game should be released on October 3, 2014. Although Sakurai had initially said the 3ds version would be available as early as this summer, I am willing to wait a little bit longer if it ensures a top quality game.

My buddy has been trying to get me into magic the gathering for over a year now, and although I own a few hundred cards, I never really made a decent deck. Today I finally decided I want to make one so I brought my friend with me to help. I bought 6 Avacyn (probably spelled that wrong) booster packs to see if I would get anything to build my deck around. I hadn't really decided which kind of deck I wanted to build so i figured I'd let fate decide. Anyways, before I opened the packs he sarcastically says: "If you get Tamiyo then you are building a control deck". I was like okay sounds good (totally ignorant to what Tamiyo and control decks are). As I am opening the third pack I trolled him saying "look i got Tamiyo" and he was like noooooooooooooo and then I looked at the cards and she was actually there staring me in the face. So apparently I got a pretty rare card, and I'm ready to start building a control deck (whatever that means).

New Challengers: The Bad

I have mixed emotions about some of these, so I will start with the bad. I understand that the developers want to attract a wider audience but The Villager and the WiiFit trainer? I could handle the villager but when I saw a silhoutted figure who teaches soccer moms how to breathe as a playable smash bros. character I was pretty angry. My actual reaction when seeing the announcement of the WiiFit trainer in the roster was: “WHY?” There is a plethora of options to add to the fighter roster and they chose one who barely has any character or presence in the Nintendo universe (aside from bringing in a bunch of revenue from wiiFit sales. The villager is on the bad list for me but I am a little more open to trying him out. However I don’t appreciate that his final smash appears to be a new skin of Kirby’s from Brawl. It may look different but the effects are practically the same. Masahiro Sakurai is a bit of a troll when it comes to Smash Bros. development. But the good news is so far those two characters seem to be the only bad ones when it comes to new challengers.

Smash Bros. 4: Thoughts and Opinions

So summer is fast approaching and there is still no actual release date set for Smash Bros. 3DS. I bought a 3DS recently in anticipation for the new smash bros release, and so far Mario 3D Land and Pokemon Y have held me down but, I am still waiting in anticipation for a release date. In the mean time I'll just share some of my opinions based on what we all know so far about the upcoming title. Over the next few days/weeks I will touch on some topics such as the new characters (obviously), stages, maybe items (who cares about those really), and other Smash Bros. related news.
