My supervisor, whom I look up to, gave me the most touching comment the other day. I typically shrug off any compliments in general, because I’m really self-critical. But my supervisor is such a blunt, and honest person--she doesn’t say things to flatter. It was during my annual performance review. She gave a lot of constructive criticism, ways I could improve, and also some of my strengths.

But the thing that touched me the most--perhaps the most a compliment has ever affected me in my entire life, was when she told me that one day, she believes that I can take her place as a Clinical Case Manager: a Licensed Social Worker that intensely assesses prospective foster families. It’s a difficult job that requires the worker to have the ability to analyze people, and write their in-depth home study file. It’s actually been a goal of mine to eventually get to after I get my Masters, but it’s extremely motivating to have someone you admire to think so highly of you to take their place, because sometimes I really don’t think I have what it takes.

Now here comes the pressure to succeed ahhhh
