Greek Revival Movie Set at Freeform

Kappa Tau wow: Freeform is rushing a Greek revival!

The network formerly known as ABC Family has greenlit Greek: The Reunion, which the cabler describes as “a holiday movie” which finds the crew returning to Cypress-Rhodes University for their five-year reunion.

Greek premiered in 2007 and ran for four seasons and 74 episodes, before concluding in 2011. The cast included then-unknowns Spencer Grammer, Scott Michael Foster, Jake McDorman and Amber Stevens.

Following the show’s series finale in 2011, Greek creator Sean Smith told TVLine that he intentionally left things relatively open-ended so “I could imagine where they were going… For me, keeping it open allowed me to have the imagination to think of where I want them to go, as much as I want the audience to do the same.”

That said, he did offer these predictions: “I think Casey and Cappie got to Washington, and I think he found something exciting and satisfying for him. I think Casey got to kick ass and I’d like to think that they ended up together forever.”

Smith will serve as an EP on the revival alongside Shawn Piller, Lloyd Segan and Patrick Sean Smith.

I was like, ‘Yeah, just tell me when.’ I would totally do it.” Rejoice, Greek fans. Rejoice. Does this mean a revival of some sort is on the horizon? Well, there hasn’t been any sort of announcement, but if the creator is presenting the idea to the cast, then I’d say the chances are very likely.

I think it’s the end of 2x09 (Three’s A Crowd). If not, then the beginning of 2x10 (Hell Week). I just know it’s when the Omega Chi’s are taking Calvin for the beginning of his final week of pledging. But yeah, almost positive it’s the end of 2x09.

We all have a purpose, and our purpose is to figure out our purpose. That’s what college is. So, why college? Why CRU? The truth is I chose CRU because a friend of mine from camp was going here, then I chose to rush a fraternity and I made new friends, and college has been everything I ever could’ve imagined it to be. So I kept thinking, why would I ever want to leave this place? But then I realized that there’s so much left to learn and experience and look forward to, and now I’m graduating… hopefully, and heading out into the real world with the love of my life, who was my purpose. So, today I’m here to graduate, and tomorrow? Well, it’s hard to say because I have no idea where I’ll be.
