A deprived FFA has been single for too long. When an attractive customer comes to the bridal shop, Sarah almost blows her chance. But fate gives her a generous second. When he returns heavier than before she jumps at the opportunity. ~Directory~
Sarah paced by the door, waiting for Nick to finish getting ready. He had planned a date for them, and she was never against spending time out with him. She had felt their love strengthen over the weeks following the incident with Brian. She was amazed that he had displayed such a grand gesture of care and protection. And in that moment she needed it.
Even though she hadn't seen him in years, she felt very afraid to be near Brian. She was flooded with her old anxieties. Nick had done exactly what she needed him to, even if it was a bit surprising and scary at first. She never would have expected any of the men she dated in the past to actually fight for her. And of course, it was very hot that Nick had. Sarah often thought about how powerful Nick was becoming. Before, she had not doubted Nick had the ever assumed big guy strength, accompanied by the muscles worked just from carrying a large body across the Earth's surface. But with Kyle’s sessions, she knew he had extra heat, and people could tell from the outside. She wondered if Brian felt utterly outmatched, or had his ego inflated to the point that he thought he could bully another grown man with his words. Brian's size certainly was at a point where the fat guy strength was burnt at both ends. He was no match for Nick. Hands down.
She had tried not to return to the scene too much, as she'd been replaying it, replacing the identity of the larger subject to a generic figure. She felt a small flicker of temptation calling to her. She knew she was not interested in being with a person that big anymore, but she couldn’t help but think they were pretty hot. She felt a touch of shame when she had immediately noticed her ex's low hanging belly when it was exposed. There was something fascinating and impressive in having such an immense belly. Considering Sarah once had full access to and great influence on his belly, she could not stop herself from looking. Sometimes she fantasized about Nick becoming even fatter than that, but always got a really weird feeling, especially after she worked herself to an amazing orgasm.
She reasoned with herself for her own sanity. There wasn't much she could do about liking what she did. She could accept herself for those things. But when it came to liking something and wanting to live it there was a difference. And both partners’ views needed to be considered. She realized the SSBHM territory was for her imagination, her personal content stash, and fantasies conjured by strangers in passing. It wasn't something she was willing to live out day to day. And neither was Nick. She was okay to play with feeding and belly worship in private and sneaky stuffings in public. She felt even more secure in her preferences than ever. She didn't have to be a specific archetype and didn't have to be defined by her past. She had too good a thing going.
She decided to sit on the couch, which had been replaced with a better one. Her father had shrieked and laughed himself to tears when they shared this detail over video call. This was a good turn of pace, as he was fuming at the thought of Brian lying to get into their home. “Couch paid the price,” he had cackled. She had determined that she would not have people show up to her house for her business any longer. She had yet to find a location to work out of, but knew she would eventually. She was now, often with Nick, meeting clients in public spaces.
Nick finally walked out and made Sarah gasp. He was the most delicious of all snacks. Embracing the early springish weather with a light short sleeve rose print button down that she had custom made for him. It gave ample room for his belly to hang out and down, and accentuated his shoulders and biceps. He wore light relaxed tapered jeans to contrast the dark top that was French tucked, as recommended by, celeb fashion expert, Tan France. The jeans were cuffed at the bottom and perfectly emphasizing all the work Nick had done on leg day, but also the extra thickness on his hips. She had started noticing that part getting thicker, and Nick was a little unsure of how we felt about the feature. She found ways to reassure him their softness was totally craved. Finally, the fit was tied together with black old school Vans, appealing to both their love of the early 2000’s aesthetic.
She took her phone out and snapped a picture. "I am floored Bae. Look at you," she purred.
"My girl tailors my clothes. That helps," he chuckled, wrapping his arms around her waist, resting on her butt. “And I have a trainer, who's been having some effect on me,” he said, flexing his muscles around her body. “And of course, my girlfriend keeps me well fed,” he said, slapping her palm to his belly. Sarah’s whole body vibrated. He kissed her and she sank into him. She wished she could stay in the moment forever, but the kiss eventually ended and they made their exit. She was excited to see what Nick had planned for the afternoon.
They drove to a nice local park that was founded by some famous inventor of something nobody could seem to remember. Nick looked over a map as Sarah looked around at the trees trying to shake winter off. She remembered feeling like that before Nick gave her more to live for. Nick came over to her and proposed the itinerary. They’d start with a short walk through the avian trail, of which Sarah was a particular fan of birds. Then visit the small animal zoo. Nick had remembered visiting as a kid, and there being a very big bird. They’d finish by walking the gardens.
The trail was a very smooth one mile loop, and they encountered a healthy handful of birds. Sarah felt like she was doing a lot of meaningless blabbing, faking voices for the birds and pointing out other creatures she noticed. Nick strolled mostly quietly behind her, laughing at her jokes perfectly on beat. They exited the trail, and Sarah stared at him. “Are you okay? You’re quiet, Nicky.”
“Am I? Sorry. Yea, I’m great. I’m spending time with you. I guess I was a little taken by your whimsical nature.” She couldn’t help but smile at that.
“Okay. Good. Let’s go look at animals. Tell me about the bird.”
“It was over a foot taller than I was, and I remember being quite afraid of it actually. Jackson would tease me mercilessly for years. I’m looking for redemption. It’s like an ostrich or something, but a sharper beak.” They walked through the very modest “zoo”, seeing owls, chickens, colorful finches, and many other variations of brown birds. There were some peacocks, who had opened their fans. “Maybe they noticed a fellow peacock,” he said, with a smirk. Sarah laughed and playfully swatted at his shoulder.
“Where is this thing?” Sarah asked, observing the approaching exit.
“Huh. I thought it was here,” Nick said broadly gesturing, taking a moment to look into a glass case only to discover there was a tarantula being housed in it. “Maybe he died,” Nick said, cringing.
“Oh god!” Sarah said, as she went through the last doorway revealing a suddenly deep enclosure with a very large bird. It was an emu, and certainly wasn’t taller than either of them, nor did it have a sharp beak. Sarah looked over at Nick, who looked amused by facing his old fear too.
“Not that scary, but it surprised you too! You jumped.” Sarah fully supported the position that the Emu should be in a more visible space, so the first time you see it you are not thinking you are about to exit.
“It really pops out of nowhere. You heard it here first. You were not a baby.” She stared into the emus face, “Scary,” she said, pointing.
After they exited they stopped at the bathrooms and decided to grab a snack. They had a small shop that sold ice cream, and they both got a cup and a cookie. They sat at a bench to enjoy the treat. The weather was quite warm, unusual for the time of year, according to the morning news.
“This has been really cute so far Nick. I had no idea this place was here.”
“I have so many memories here. Jackson broke his arm falling out of a tree by one of the baseball fields. My dad’s car overheated once when we were supposed to leave, and we got to play on the playground for hours. Jackson ruled it that day, and I was lieutenant,” Nick smiled happily reflecting on the memory. “But, when I got my own car, me and my friends would come here and smoke weed in the woods. I even brought a girl here for a date.” Sarah dramatically gasped.
“Recycler!” she accused.
“If it works it works. I got second base that day. Big deal for the Nickster.” Nick swiped the last of his cookie in his ice cream, clocking Sarah’s gaze. He could not get over her stares, winks, and touches. She was so beautiful, funny, and cool. He hardly woke up feeling like he deserved her. However, in his time being in a relationship, he found a new level of confidence. He wasn’t continuing to live in stages of hard core dieting and overeating with an overall anxiety about his body either way. But, now he looked in mirrors and admired himself, pulling tops close to his roundness. He was proud to be big and working out only made him feel bigger. With bulked up shoulders and arms, Nick felt broader up top, and the added weight of his muscles made his center gravity feel stronger. Being next to someone so small all the time only helped inflate Nick’s sense of his own size. And not to mention, that little lady was all over him like a stamp to a letter. Plastered. It was something he appreciated greatly. He had many years feeling undesirable, and he never had any doubt that Sarah was wanting him badly. He looked at her and winked, making her look away, but smile. There were some people around, but everyone was enjoying the park and minding their business.
“Do you want the rest of mine?” she offered, innocently. Nick knew there was no such thing as an innocent offer from her. He scooped the rest into his mouth and dropped her half full cup into his empty one. Sarah rested her head on his shoulder, one arm wrapped behind his back and stroking his love handle. The other rested on his lap, but shifted to the side of his belly. She gently ran her thumb up and down.
“Don’t be too shy now Sarah,” he said quietly, his lips brushing the top of her head. She nuzzled her forehead into him a little, but her hand reached across his lower belly casually. Nick sighed, pushing his belly out a little extra. Sarah’s hands were so magical on his body. He felt himself relax and de-stress when she was rubbing his belly. Nick felt a gurgle traveling inside his gut, and covered his mouth to stifle a burp. He could hear Sarah quietly giggle.
“A greedy greedy pig, Nick,” she teased.
“Just a little bit,” he said. He finished the rest of Sarah’s ice cream with the pleasure of her safe for work public affection. Finishing with a subtle burp.
“A little a lot,” she said, pinching him and standing. “I am so excited to see the gardens. It said they use them for weddings. I bet they are gorgeous.”
“Please don’t be disappointed when they are not bursting with flowers or even buds. It's still very early.”
“Nick, I think I will be fine without flowers. Though I’m sure it’s fabulous when everything is in bloom.” They made their way through some trails and found a few different garden areas. They, as Nick predicted, did not have flowers yet, but they could imagine what it could look like. Nick watched Sarah dance across the stone bench under a pavilion singing tunes from the Sound of Music, using Nick as a partner, but more as a prop to jump from one bench to the other. Nick couldn’t help but be entertained by her. They saw the oriental garden, with beautiful architectural structures, and a garden around an interesting pond. Nick looked at the sun preparing to set, appreciating the pre sunset creamsicle spread in the sky.
“There’s a really cute one just through here.” Nick guided her up a stone path to a grecian garden. Pillars lined the garden with broad stones on the ground.
“Oh Nick,” she said, spinning in the center of the largest stone. “I absolutely love to be surrounded by rocks. You know that.”
“I do know,” he said, smiling at her. Nick would never get over her excitement for the simple and natural.
“And look at that sunset,” she called, looking at the gorgeous purples and oranges in the sky over the ceremony structure. “Breathtaking,” she sighed in awe.
“You really are,” he said. She looked over at him with a grin only put on hold to give him a peck on the cheek. He watched her stare at the sky amazed. Nick had only his nerves to convince left, that Sarah was all he ever needed. He pulled his jeans up, and reached in his pocket. Heart pounding, he took one of her hands and dropped down. Sarah turned to look at him, out of curiosity.
She breathed in sharply when she saw Nick on his knee and presenting a ring. She felt his hands shaking as they held her's. She was completely speechless. Never would she have expected Nick to propose to her, today! Not that she had not thought that he was exactly who she would love to spend forever with. She was frozen in shock.
“Sarah, this is the scariest thing I have ever done, but it is also the most important and, if all goes well, my proudest moment. You are the most wonderful person and I’d be a complete fool to let you go another day, without being promised happy days for always. So with that,” he cleared his throat, looking into her eyes softly. “Will you marry me?”
“Yes! Of course” She said excitedly, pulling him to his feet, squealing. “I cannot believe you!”
“Believe it,” he said, his smile beaming. Nick kissed her deeply before putting the ring on her finger. She stared at the gorgeous ring and back into Nick's even more beautiful eyes.
"I love you Sarah."
"I love you too! So much," she said, still bursting with joy. They looked at the beauty of the sky’s deepening color, and Sarah turned to him with an amused expression. "So Nick…"
"Yea?" he asked, curiously.
"Guess you already have a date for this one," she said, nudging him. He chuckled. They meandered lovingly back to the car, floating on an intense love high.
***
They married in the Grecian Garden at the very same park in the summer a year later. Sarah and Nick designed the dresses and suits together, going for an aquamarine color scheme to bring out the unique color of Nick’s eyes. All of Nick's friends and his brother stood next to him, all looking very handsome. Sarah chose her best friend Corey as her maid of honor, who had been beyond excited to meet Nick. She made Monica, Becky, Tara, Marcy, and Lindsey bridesmaids, becoming very close with the girls as the boys hung out more. When Sarah came down the aisle, she smiled teary eyed at all guests, feeling her chest tighten when she saw their mothers at the front. She failed to repress an audible sob when she met Nick's eyes. His mildly chubbier face shining brightly back at her. He had taken a short break from Kyle's sessions, to avoid overloading himself for the lead up to his own wedding. He made sure to invite Kyle and would start up with him again after they returned from their honeymoon. Sarah elicited Carla's help, her old coworker, with her dress. She had been offered a promotion to manager, but Sarah was trying to convince her to work with her instead. She'd get her eventually. Her elegant fit and flare gown hugged her perfectly and the plunging neckline highlighted her chest tastefully. She felt as beautiful as she had always dreamt, and Nick was far more handsome than the men she had ever imagined, when she’d fantasize about her wedding day.
During the reception, Sarah spent her time visiting all her guests with Nick. She didn't see his smile fall for a second the whole night. He embraced her family like they were his own, and they were. Uncle Jim pulled him into a big hug. "There’s my man," he said, still on his trend of softening. Nick’s extended family gushed over Sarah like a priceless doll, but none more than Nick’s mom Donna. She was subtly crying the whole night. Her baby was no longer her own, and she couldn’t be happier.
Sarah had noticed her sister talking and laughing with Henry, and when she had asked her about it, she scoffed at the idea of them having been flirting. However, Monica did say, “He is obviously very attractive.” She was seen dancing with him later on. Sarah even saw Jordy talking closely with one of her cute, but very shy cousins. She was smitten with the contagious romantic atmosphere.
When the party was ending, Nick stood by the door, admittedly feeling he could have resisted pigging out on the buffet like he had planned. It was clear Sarah had a different plan. She had encouraged him to eat three full plates from the buffet, breaking between, but by the time dessert came around he did feel stuffed. Nothing could keep him from having some dessert on his own wedding day.
He hugged the guests as they left, trying not to press his full gut into everyone. His brother and Becky came up. "Well baby brother, you finally made it. Little close on ole’ the heels," Jackson said, proud. Nick gave Becky a big side hug, not wanting to squash either of their considerable bellies.
"Congratulate your uncle Nick," she joked, holding her stomach with care.
"You are the reason for all this Becky. Without you choosing her shop, who knows if I ever should have found Sarah," Nick shared, thankfully. She wouldn't take all the credit, but accepted part of it. After everyone had left and they loaded all the leftover food into the car, the couple headed home.
Nick pulled Sarah to him and hugged her, feeling his belly press into her slender frame. She pulled back and reached to button his jacket up, with some resistance. "Oof."
"Someone managed to stuff themselves up pretty good, huh?" She patted his tightly contained belly.
"Gonna be a long life of that," Nick said, unbuttoning the jacket, and leading Sarah to the bedroom.
"I certainly hope so," she said, sultry. Once both were undressed, she straddled his lap and slowly rocked her hips back and forth as she massaged his big belly.
“You are seriously too good at that,” Nick moaned. He rubbed her thighs and grinded under her.
“I’m only as good as my muse. You are perfect Nick.”
“You’ve always said that. I’ve changed a bit,” he said looking down at his stomach and chest that were shaking back and forth in smooth waves.
“I meant it every time. It’s you Nick. Plushy Nick is perfect. Beefy Nick, perf. Beefy-plus Nick, also perfect.” She put her hands on the sides of his belly and lifted it, dropping it on her lap. “Ungh,” she grunted. Nick moaned in response. She dropped his gut again and gave it a slap.
“Let me drop it on your back,” Nick said. Sarah hopped off, and knelt on the edge of the bed, waiting for him. He entered her and let his belly press against her butt, squishing into her as he thrusted. He felt amazing, but she wanted to feel him on her, as he promised. She reached behind her at his belly, feeling how heavy it was, making her even more hot. Nick squeezed her hand into the side of his belly as he lifted it and pushed into her deeper. She felt the weight of his belly drop onto her lower back and consume it in her warmth. She gasped at the sensation, encouraged by Nick’s own grunting. They finished soon after and laid in the bed holding one another.
The two spent the remainder of their first night off marital bliss pleasuring the other like never before on and off into the morning. The rest of their lives would be spent dedicated to caring for and loving one another. Listening. Respecting. And above all, loving to be with one another and conquering life's journey as one. An easy commitment to make, in both their cases.
Sarah looked at each client that came in her own bridal boutique, especially the unsuspecting groomsman, as if their lives were about to change forever. One could never predict how a trip to a bridal shop would turn out. But, she could think of one pretty amazing and steamy possibility.
The End

Author's Note: I can't help myself but gush about this story. I wrote the first couple of chapters and let them sit in a word file for years before coming back to it. Couldn't be happier with how it came out. I felt like I was really developing my own identity as I played with this one. Battled with which character I felt most connected to, but I wont choose. I will love them forever. If you made it this far, I hope you will too. If not, please write that long hate piece. Always accepting praise though!
"Hey Nick!" Kyle greeted Nick, excitedly. He really liked swatting Nick on the back; Nick assumed it was his love language. "Would you mind having my supervisor watch you work a little? I'm supposed to get observed, and you are one of my favorite clients." Nick didn't mind. It was really Kyle they'd be watching anyway. He'd do his best to make him look good.
They made their way through his warm up and he started the leg press, when a manager type walked over and introduced himself.
"Hey there Nick. I'm Randy. Thanks for allowing me to sit in for a few minutes. Just do what you and Kyle normally do." Nick felt like he was killing it, and he thought Randy and Kyle had been talking about how good he was doing. But, he caught a trickle of what they said under his heavy breathing.
"He's on goal you said?"
"Yea! Nick's crushing his goals. He has pretty much since showing up."
"Kinda heavy, no?" Randy said quizzically. Nick watched Kyle’s face turn up a little. Nick felt a small jolt run through him.
"That's irrelevant to my client's goal. He's increased the weight he's moving significantly, as the data I submitted will show." Randy was slightly taken aback by the response, but didn't ask anything else. Eventually, Randy left and Kyle seemed a bit miffed. Nick finished his workout and Kyle brought him back to the office, still upset. They usually didn't go to the office, so Nick was curious as to why they were today. "Randy is a jerk! I told him you were a great client, and we stood there and watched you leg press almost 500, after starting not long ago, and what's he worried about? Weight. Not even though. Just your shape. He doesn't know what your weight is." Kyle sighed and slumped in his chair. "Sorry bro."
"I'm so unbothered Kyle. Why are you so upset?"
"I just feel like it threw the vibe off. Like he should have looked at your chart and been impressed. Not his business about anything else."
"Eh, it's a gym, Kyle. This place sleeps and breathes weight loss. It's just the nature of the beast. Did Randy think you did bad?"
Kyle shrugged, "I'll know when he writes it up, but I'm fighting it if I'm marked at all for that shit. We talk about goals at the start for a reason!" Kyle said, pounding his fist on the desk. Nick wasn’t exactly sure if Kyle thought he had to bring him in to cheer him up or himself.
"Kyle you're a great trainer man. Don't let Randy get you off balance. Do you know how many compliments I've gotten since working with you? And all without my gut getting smaller, as intended."
"I appreciate that Nick," he said, shuffling through some papers. He pulled one out and put it on the desk. "Would you mind putting any of that on a feedback form?" Nick couldn’t mind. If it would help Kyle, he was down for it. He had thought Kyle was going to be too much of a bro, but Nick had come to really appreciate working with him. And despite his early caveat, Nick never had someone else as his trainer, and he appreciated this fact. Nick took the form and started filling it out. "How's the lady liking your progress?" he asked, apparently trying to lighten his mood. Kyle was very curious about Sarah and asked about her, respectfully, each week. Nick thought he got a kick out of how "unusual" their relationship was.
"She's my biggest fan as always. She's wondering when my 6 pack will come in," Nick joked. Kyle laughed.
"With all you do out here, I wouldn't be surprised if you had one," Kyle said, seriously. Nick gave him a funny look. "The muscles exist even if you can't see them. Tighten your core, and then," Kyle was leaning forward a bit trying to gauge where Nick would get the best feel of his abdominal muscles. He laughed a little, "Uhh, I guess if you kinda press in on the side middle." Kyle demonstrated himself. Nick dug a little where he said and was surprised to feel some pretty firm muscles.
"Woah."
"Pretty cool, huh? So many people associate abs with a visual, and feel they don't have them if you can't see them through your skin. Unfortunately you have to be so lean to see that. People get discouraged. Mine fade every winter, honestly. I go on vacation with my family and eat like crazy."
"A little Nick livin'."
Kyle chuckled, "I gotta say Nick, working with you has been so fun. You have expanded my way of thinking in a huge way." Nick shot him an amused look. "Not like that! Stop messing with me. I'm trying to be sincere."
"Kyle, I like you too. Just as a friend though," he laughed. "But seriously, even though I pay you, it feels like we're friends anyway. I never used to have fit friends. Didn't think we'd mesh well when we first met. Not a fair assessment, those snap judgements." Kyle smiled and took the form Nick offered back.
"Let's hope Randy's learned that." Kyle rose to bring it in with Nick.
"Just tell him he can watch me run if he has to. Beware, lotta motion," Nick said, shaking his belly.
"I'll tell him right now! Have a good one dude. See you soon."
Nick stopped at Wendy's on his way home. Sarah was going to be out delivering and having the client trying on the prom dress she made, over an hour away. He was on his own for his post workout binge, much to both their disappointment. She had asked him to keep an ear out for another client, Sam, who was coming to get some custom piece. That wasn't for another hour. Nick showered and got dressed in shorts and a tee shirt, and made his way to the living room. He spread out his lunch on the table. He didn't want to go so overboard that he'd be too full to accept Sarah's offer to pick something up on her way home. He got a spicy chicken sandwich, a baconator, large fry, 12 nuggets, and a large shake. He laid out on the couch and turned on a sports program. He found it perfect for zoning out and chowing down. He liked the irony of watching athletes working their butts off as he stuffed his face. This thought was also tempered with the fact that Nick had just done so himself.
His chicken sandwich was gone before he could really enjoy it, despite "enjoying" the whole thing. He mindlessly put the wrapper in the bag and unwrapped his cheeseburger. He chomped through half and stopped to pull hard on the shake, feeling the sweetness coat his insides. He rubbed his belly to encourage a burp up. He kept powering through, his hand resting either under or around his gut. He'd occasionally just jostle it for fun. He preferred for Sarah to give him belly rubs, but found he could handle himself when he was alone. He got caught casually playing with his belly at his desk last week at work. A coworker popped into his office and asked a question and momentarily stopped, when she noticed his hands on his body. He had explained it away as a quirky habit.
He finished the last of his lunch and stretched out for a nap. He went into his food coma instantly. The doorbell woke him an hour later. He called to the door that he was coming and quickly tossed out the bag.
The sight of the man on the other side of the door left him speechless. Should his mother have been around, he would have pulled her purse. The man before him was humongous, without exaggeration. A SSBHM. He had short cropped hair resting on top of a very round face, with particularly red cheeks. His large chest rose and fell moderately from the walk to the door. Nick saw a large and low riding van parked in the driveway. Nick quickly rebounded and greeted the man.
"Hey there."
"I'm here to pick up an order from Sarah's Boutique." He looked Nick up and down a little with a strange expression.
"Great! She told me you'd be stopping by. Sam?"
"Huh? Oh yea. Sorry, I'm a little tired," he said, looking at the driveway.
"Come on in," Nick said, stepping inside and holding the door for him. He decided to pass the door to him, as he started considering Sam wouldn't be able to get by very easily. Nick invited him to take a seat on the couch and offered him a drink, to which Sam requested any soda they had. Nick brought him a Coke, trying not to worry about the safety of his furniture, despite its cry out when the man rested his weight on it. "Let me go grab that. Sarah left it somewhere around here." He found Sam's package in the office and brought it to him.
"I had really been looking forward to getting to see the woman who was so kind as to make me these items," Sam said looking around.
"What did you get, if that's not too nosey? I am not super involved with her business, besides this," he chuckled, somewhat nervously. Sam was giving him a weird vibe.
"I ordered a cosplay costume. She said she could do anything, so I figured I'd try her out. Not many people would even consider making something so large. Her prices are very fair." Nick couldn’t help but steal looks at Sam. His belly seemed double the size of his own, maybe triple. His legs were tree trunks shooting right out of the carpet. He was admittedly horrified by how big he was. His presence was giving Nick a touch of anxiety. He suddenly wished he hadn’t inhaled so much fast food before, because his stomach was starting to turn.
"Cosplay? That's like anime?" Sam shook his head. Clearly disappointed.
"Dressing up and acting like characters. It's not only anime. People can cosplay as anything from James Bond to Goku."
"Oh. My bad. Who do you dress up as?" Nick asked, more curious about what Sarah fashioned for Sam to fit his body than the cosplay itself. Nick couldn’t imagine many costumes that would be, for lack of better words, a good fit.
"Well mine happens to be from an anime," he said. Nick suppressed his desire to suck his teeth and smiled instead. "Are you familiar with Pokémon?" Nick shrugged, having been interested as a kid. "I had her make me a snorlax onesie." Nick’s eyebrows went all the way up. He was familiar enough to know the massive pokémon, who in the games, he remembered, was so fat you had to take alternate paths if one was sleeping lazily in the road.
"Oh wow," Nick said. He felt a smile sneak on his face. He couldn't pretend. "That is actually pretty funny." Sam surprisingly smiled, unoffended.
"Thanks. I'm not oblivious to the very obvious. I'm the perfect size for it."
Nick didn't want to say, "You are so right." Instead he said, "Sarah is exactly the kind to think that's funny too. "
"Why?"
"She's um…very open minded. How do they call it? Body positive! She's very body positive."
"Wish I could thank her in person. She sounds lovely." Nick drummed on his knees.
"She had mentioned you were already paid up?" Nick asked, hoping he would get the hint that the transaction was over. He was in no rush to leave, and didn’t seem like he could rush.
"Are you her roommate?" Sam asked. Nick looked at him a little offended.
"I am her boyfriend," Nick said with a bit of heat on his words.
"Weird."
"Why is that weird?" Nick asked, crossing his arms. He looked at Sam, who was far too comfortable for a stranger in Nick’s house.
"It just seemed like she wouldn't date a guy like you. Based on her social media profile connected to her store." Nick held back from jumping up. Who was this guy? He had some nerve. What was on her profile?
"A guy like me?" Nick challenged.
"You know. A little chubby guy." Nick didn't know he could be so offended to have someone minimize his size. Nick clapped his hands on his knees.
"Well Sam. She is dating this little chubby guy. So can't say much more on it. Probably best you get back on the road though. Sure you got places to be."
"I'd really love to wait for Sarah."
"Sam, now I'm not suggesting it. You got to go. This is getting too weird. Sarah’s service includes clothing items, not a meet and greet." Sam seemed to debate whether he wanted to listen to Nick at all, which made his blood boil. He stood in front of him, looking down at him deadly serious.
"Can I get my bearings before you attempt to sling me out the door? It isn't easy to just get up on a whim."
"You honestly should have considered that before you traded all your time for my patience. I can help you up, if that would help." Sam laughed. Nick wanted to deck him, but again didn't. He considered it, but didn’t want to deal with the consequences of being responsible for an unconscious or injured man who struggled with mobility on his own.
"You can try," Sam egged him on. Nick slapped his hand into Sam's and yanked him up. He was heavy as fuck, and certainly wasn't helping much. He didn't let on how his shoulder felt torn, and walked inches behind his heavy steps, glaring a hole into the back of his skull. Nick waited until he heaved himself down the steps before he pulled out his phone to call Sarah. Instantly Sam dropped the package. "Crap. Could you grab that?" Nick sighed and took a single stride down the two steps. He walked the package to the passenger door of Sam's van, not waiting for him. He heard it click and dropped it on the seat. He looked up when he saw lights pointing into the driveway. Nick cursed under his breath. Sarah.
Nick moved quickly to get between Sam and Sarah. He wasn’t sure what Sam was hoping to do, but he wasn't getting close.
"Sarah! Just stay in the car!" Nick called. She poked her head out.
"What?" She asked, having not heard him.
"Sarah!" Sam called waddling a step towards her. Nick reached his arm out and pushed his chest, which was like a memory foam mattress.
"Brian?" Sarah cried out in horror.
"What?!" Nick shouted. "You're Brian?" Brian, previously thought to be Sam, had a delightfully guilty expression. "I will beat that smug look off your face dude," Nick said pulling at his shirt that, having already been stretched over his expansive gut, ripped right at the collar. Nick turned when he heard Sarah close her door running up to them.
"What the hell are you doing here!" Sarah said, from the sidelines. Nick listened only because he too, wanted to know.
"I had to see you. Sare Bear."
"I'm gonna puke!"
"You moved out of your apartment. A mutual friend told me about your shop, so I got to you that way." He attempted to move again and Nick just bunched up more of his shirt. Nick glanced at her to see her face horrified, as if she could only piece all the obvious facts together once it was laid out for her. She covered her mouth.
"Careful bud, she might peep the belly," Brian said, chuckling under Nick's grip. He looked down to see a significant amount of his gut was now hanging out of his shirt, since Nick was squeezing so much fabric in his hands. Nick let him go and shoved him at the car, causing Brian to stagger back into the vehicle with a thud.
"Two choices. Get in the car and get the fuck out of here, or I beat your ass here and call the police for you."
"What size jumpsuit are you?" He asked, laughing.
Nick lost it. He went at Brian with every ounce of pent up rage he had been saving for him. He got 4 solid punches, with the only resistance being Brian's wasted attempt to catch Nick's fired fists in his blubbery hands. He heard Sarah calling for him to stop, but it wasn't until Brian was coughing out a plea that he did. "Get the fuck in your car Brian!" Nick said. Brian looked over at Sarah who stood behind Nick, and whimpered. He pushed Nick back, who was ready to step out his way, so he could leave anyway. They watch Brian wedge himself into the van and peel out the driveway. They both stared in utter amazement as the vehicle turned off the street.
Nick turned to look at Sarah, still panting from his adrenaline rush. She flew into his arms and he held her, feeling her breathing shake against him. "It's okay," he breathed out soothingly. He felt her settle and held her at arms length. "That was scary, and I'm sorry," Nick apologized, looking sorry. He didn't want to be violent in front of her, and could tell the whole thing rattled her. "Let's go inside." They shuffled in and sat down, not saying anything at first. Sarah stared at the off TV. Nick wanted to comfort her, but something was bothering him. "Hmm," he shifted in his seat.
"What?" Sarah questioned, curious but still bothered. Nick put his hand under his seat and felt something hard like wood out of place. The thought came first and a reluctant snicker after. Sarah reiterated her question, but Nick was progressing to full on laughter. Sarah was getting flustered.
"That's the limit," Nick laughed. Sarah waited for him to continue. "His ass!" Sarah could hear her father's voice say the words. She knew them well. She laughed too.
"He did not break the couch. Did he?" Nick got up and let Sarah look. She screamed with laughter. Eventually their giggles subsided, ending with pleased sighs.
"Well I don't know about you," Nick said.
"But I could go for some of Nick's old fashioned ice cream."
"And this is why!" Nick said, heading to the kitchen, zooted.
Tristen’s wedding venue was beyond beautiful. Sarah couldn’t tell Becky or she would flip. They had gotten there on time, thanks to Sarah’s diligent planning. She managed not to gobble Nick whole after seeing him in his suit, despite wanting to so badly. A dark gray suit with a burgundy shirt and black tie. She was so thrilled with how well everything came out. And was excited to see everyone standing up front together.
Nick was ushering the family into their seats, and both Tristen and Lindsey had a lot of family guests. Sarah was sitting alone. But chilling and enjoying the positive atmosphere. She guessed she did miss working at the bridal store a little bit. She did miss being around weddings. There was something so beautiful to her about two people choosing each other and committing in front of everyone. Was it extra? Yes. Did a wedding have to be huge? No. But, she liked lots of big things. The dress she was working on was a beautiful prom dress, but it wasn't the same. She couldn't wait to see Lindsey's gown.
Suddenly, Tara was next to her alarmed. "You have to come!" Sarah jumped up, not really knowing what was wrong but followed Tara in a light jog past Nick, who didn't seem to know about any emergency. From the lobby they went down a hallway where she came upon Tristen waiting outside of a door looking flustered.
"Lindsey just let me in," Tristen pleaded, his forehead pressed on the door.
"Absolutely not! You stay way the hell out there," she hollered from inside. Tristen looked over at Tara and Sarah, looking defeated at first but brightening.
"Sarah! Yes! You are exactly who we need. Please help her.
"Sarah can fix anything!" Tara said. She pushed Sarah through the door with confidence. Sarah walked in, not sure exactly what the issue was, though she had a hunch. The Bridal Suite was filled with women all fussing around Lindsey's back. They were switching from Spanish to English, and there appeared to be three generations of women present in the room.
"Lindsey! Sarah is here," Tara called. Lindsey turned and shooed her aunts out the way. Sarah was happy to see she was not crying her eyes out, but she looked beyond pretty mad. Despite being so upset, she was totally stunning. Sarah found herself tracing Lindsey’s thick shape up and down. She had curves for days.
"Sarah," she begged. "I need you to fix this dress. Everyone says you're a miracle worker, and my abuela has been praying for one on her Rosary for almost 45 minutes straight." Sarah didn't even take a second to look, as everything felt so urgent.
"What's wrong?" Lindsey turned and showed the back of her mermaid dress gaping open and the zipper hanging loose from the dress at the top.
"My supposed maid of honor of a favorite cousin Rosa ripped my dress. I love her, I forgive her, but I'm gonna kill her if I don't walk down the aisle today."
"I didn't do it on purpose!" Rosa said exasperated. "The zipper was not having it."
"It's because she's a gordita!" one woman chimed in. "Don't blame your cousin!" Lindsey looked over at the woman with flames in her eyes.
“Elena, you will not sit here and call my baby a gordita on her wedding day. Get some sense. Out!” Lindsey’s mother helped her own sister out of the room.
“Don’t listen to her,” Rosa said. Lindsey appeared to appreciate the comfort from her even pudgier cousin.
“She is not wrong,” Lindsey sighed. “I am too fat for the dress. I ripped it. It’s all Tristen’s fault. All he wants to do is eat. Never gain a thing.” Sarah decided it was time for her to actually jump in.
“Let me take a look here,” she said, pulling the two sides of the dress together. It was certainly too small. She had to guess Rosa was able to get it zipped up, but then the stitching wouldn’t hold. Sarah knew a dress malfunction was a bride's worst nightmare, so she wanted to act fast. Sarah assessed the situation. “What we can do is take the zipper out completely, since it is already hanging off. I have some supplies in the car, and can make the back a ribbon lace back. Nobody would know,” Sarah said. She couldn’t help but think, “besides everyone in this room.”
“Sarah you are all I got. Free reign. Get me in this dress, please.” Sarah hurried and worked as quickly and effectively as she could. It was pretty good that she actually carried stuff around in her car. She couldn’t wait to prove her mom wrong, as she had always said it was foolish to store stuff like that in a vehicle that could get stolen.
Sarah took an open seat where the ceremony would take place. Shortly after, the music started and the guests quieted. Tristen and all his groomsmen were up front, all looking very sharp. Sarah thought Nick looked beyond yummy, unfortunately, once again, outshining all in his aura. She also noticed Mike didn’t really look like he gained so much weight that he needed his suit altered, but considering she did alter it for the measurements, and it fit him perfectly today, she would guess he did. Lindsey’s bridesmaids looked gorgeous in flowy greek style burgundy dresses and sparkly pins in their hair. When an adorable little girl stomped down the center everyone began to stand and turn to see Lindsey. All signs of distress had left her and her beautiful smile beamed. When she walked past, Sarah was very thankful to see her work was holding up, and doing what it should. Nobody was going to be able to tell. The ceremony was short and sweet and everyone transitioned to the ballroom where food and dancing was happening immediately.
Nick walked over to Sarah smiling big. “So happy for him!” he exclaimed. “What was all the drama about?”
“It got taken care of,” Sarah said secretively. She nudged him and smiled, “I’ll tell you later. Let's mingle, eat, dance. Wedding?”
“My girl loves a wedding,” Nick said proudly, pulling her under his arm. They made their way to the groomsman table, where Sarah met Marcy. She was Mark’s girlfriend. Sarah felt a little ashamed of herself to be surprised that Mark would date a plus sized woman. She knew how annoying it was when people said that about herself, but she surmised it was just a testament to how deep the propaganda went. She was not immune to it herself. Marcy seemed like an incredibly sweet and nice person, and also to be very close friends with Tara. Sarah learned that they had actually been friends before they started dating the twins. Sarah thought that was really cute.
Sarah joined Marcy and Tara for a drink before they hit the dance floor and ran into Lindsey at the bar. “Congratulations,” they cheered.
“I can't believe it’s done. Take a shot with me. All of you,” Lindsey said, clearly already enjoying her evening, as she should. They took two shots of tequila and hustled to the dancefloor. Lindsey grabbed Sarah’s arm a moment to thank her, and Sarah assured her she was more than welcomed. Lindsey whisked her out onto the floor with her. She was shaking her butt all over the place, which only encouraged Sarah and the others to dance to their hearts’ content. Sarah didn’t love when everyone just danced conservatively. It was a big downer. She liked fast paced music, and the combination of reggaeton and hip hop was keeping her energized. She eventually took a break and found Nick who had been sitting in the same place she left him talking to the guys.
“I was going to ask you if you wanted food, but you were dancing, and Henry challenged me to a race to the pernil. A lot went down.”
“Well I hope you won,” Sarah joked.
“He didn’t,” Henry said cockily. “You better get up there. The food is amazing.” Sarah went and made a plate, and found Henry’s assessment to be completely correct. A combination of what seemed to be the best Puerto Rican and Polish food, Sarah not being able to help the sappy thoughts about weddings bringing two cultures together. The dishes all had been made by the family, with individual cards of accreditation for each. Sarah thought that was a beautiful touch. When she got back, Tara and Marcy had already joined with plates of their own. Everything was delicious and everyone agreed.
Sarah noticed Mark and Marcy adorably sharing each others’ plate. At first she thought they were offering samples back and forth, but she came to realize that Mark was actually the only one feeding Marcy. She inconspicuously watched them quietly whisper and giggle back and forth. She was so captivated by how endearing and tender they were to one another. She started wondering more than ever whether Mark was feeding her in a regular or the other way. Sarah didn’t want to actively stare at them, as she was admittedly starting to think about Nick herself, so distracted herself elsewhere. She was way more reserved when it came to that stuff in the presence of anyone.
Nick and Mike returned with a second plate of food, which gave Sarah a small buzz. Sarah almost laughed at how much more they looked like twins wearing the same outfit. She didn’t want to spiral down a fat twins scenario, and had to sip her water, to settle her. “So Nick, how long after Sarah fixed your suit did you start looking so jacked. I wanna make sure I don’t miss my window,” Mike said, sounding joke-y for the first time.
“It didn’t come without another growth spurt first,” Nick laughed. “I actually got a trainer. I’m finding it helps with being a living garbage disposal.”
“Wow, I hear that man,” Mike said. He asked Nick more about his regimen. “I just am not in a “clean” swing of eating habits right now.” Sarah watched Tara’s expression flicker. She knew all too well the guilt of being the one encouraging ‘bad’ and inarguably excessive eating. Mike sighed optimistically. “But at the end of the day, I’m enjoying life more than ever. I got my girl,” he said, throwing an arm over Tara, “and she hasn’t complained yet.”
“Not that I would,” she said, kissing him.
“Can you picture me in a gym?” Mike asked Tara, seeming to find it ridiculous. She shrugged with an interested look.
“I’d go with you,” Mark offered. Mike looked at Mark pleasantly, and nodded a thanks.
After finishing his second plate, Nick looked like he couldn’t eat anything more. All the food was very rich and flavorful. “Man, I love wedding food,” Nick sighed, patting his full belly. Sarah glanced down at it in admiration, not daring to give into the temptation to touch him.
“Out of this world. I couldn’t tell if I liked the pierogis better or the empanadas. But I can’t try anymore to find out,” Jordy shared.
“The empanadas,” Lindsey said with a smile, stopping by. “Thank you all for coming and helping us celebrate our day.” She hugged everyone and accepted the flood of compliments.
“Speaking of beautiful, I gotta ask you Lindsey. I must know who that fine woman over there is?” Henry pointed to a very attractive young woman who was dancing alone.
“That’s my cousin Camila, but you are not her type.”
“Why wouldn’t I be?"
Lindsey gave him a look, "Ella so lamente la gusta las muchachas."
Henry blinked at her, "I’m every girl’s type!" Henry smoothed out his eyebrows and sauntered over to her.
“Not if she’s a lesbian,” Lindsey said to everyone else at the table. They shared a laugh and she continued making her rounds. They continued to enjoy the night, dancing, with a bit more competition than at Jackson’s wedding. They took a break, finding room for dessert. They both tried a bit of everything. Sarah found the Polish donuts to be heavenly. Nick found himself gushing over the tres leches cake. As the night stretched its legs out, Sarah was getting tired, having danced and possibly drank too much. Nick finished up talking with a myriad of family members, discussing recipes and cooking techniques. He came back over to Sarah and confirmed she was ready to go. They said goodbye to everyone and went to the car.
“She is almost too good at weddings. Heard you saved Lindsey.”
“Who said that?”
Nick shrugged, “Tristen.” Sarah raised her eyebrows understandingly.
“I’m not like a hero or anything,” she said mock-humble. Nick confirmed that she was for her ego’s sake. They got home and Nick laid Sarah on the bed, took her heels off and helped shimmy her dress off. “What a beautiful wedding,” Sarah said. She proceeded to sing the all too famous Panic! At the Disco song, trailing off a verse in.”I’m so sleepy,” she murmured.
“I know.,” Nick said, changing into shorts and a t-shirt. He laid next to her and stroked her hair. She reached out and gently rubbed his belly. It was pillowy and soft and her fingers pressed on him in a melodic fashion, as if playing a beautiful piano song. Sarah played a very soothing song in her head, so soothing she fell asleep. “Goodnight Sarah.” He kissed her forehead, lifted her hand up, and slipped out silently to game into dawn in the living room.
They arrived at the parking lot and Sarah wanted Nick to point her out right away. She wasn’t visible from the car, to Sarah’s dismay. “She’s got like a lip ring. Very, uh, Hot Topic. In a tasteful way?”
“Oh really?” she said, accusingly.
“Listen, I did not agree to getting in trouble. I just wanna eat some pizza. Let’s go.” He climbed out of the car and Sarah followed. She didn’t know what exactly she was hoping to get out of the outing, but she did intend to flex. She wore a cute and slightly low cut top that did all the favors possible. She put on perfectly fitting jeans, after she decided shorts or a skirt of any kind was trying too much. She looked casually gorgeous, if she could say so. And she could. Nick looked phenomenal in his jeans and a pocket tee. She loved using the pocket as an excuse to just brush up on his chest, which more and more was becoming a delicious combination of soft and firm.
“Hey bae, put my chapstick in your pocket,” she said, slipping it into the breast pocket herself. He smiled and guided her through the door, putting his hand flirtatiously on her butt.
“Uh oh, Sarah. Two can play. Right?” he proclaimed into the back of her neck, his breath sending shivers down her spine, which his belly was pressing into for a moment. She began to turn to look at him but he put his hand on her back and pushed her in more firmly. “That is her.” Sarah didn’t need him to clarify. Sarah stood up straighter as she looked the woman up and down. She hadn’t yet noticed them, but if she was really like Sarah, she would any second. She could most concisely be described as a goth vixen. She indeed had a lip ring. She also wore medium sized gauges in her ears and at least 4 additional cartilage piercings on each ear. Her chest pushed at her blue polo, the buttons pushing apart at the top. Sarah wanted Nick to confess that he probably liked this woman blatantly flirting with him. Sarah didn’t want to walk in guns blazing, especially if it was possible that Nick had been joking the whole time, but her beauty, though highly stylized, was raising Sarah’s guard. The woman looked over toward them as they walked up and Sarah watched her tongue flick at her dark red painted lips as she laid eyes on Nick. She very quickly locked eyes on Sarah and stared challengingly. Sarah took the high road and smiled back.
Nick ordered from Veronica, while Sarah casually watched her like a hawk. She glanced over at Sarah a few times, to see if she was watching her, forcing Sarah to reach into Nick’s pocket for her chapstick. She rested her free hand on the pocket, grabbing him lightly, causing Nick to shoot a smirk to her. She only took her eyes off of her and dropped her hand when Nick doubled back and ordered a second pizza in addition to the cheesy breadsticks and cheesy BBQ wings. She broke from her excitement and could see Veronica’s face shift too. Sarah couldn’t actually fault her. If she worked at a food place and a thick god like Nick came in and ordered that, she would feel a way about it too. She was wondering how bad she truly was. Nick could be dramatic at times. What Sarah was watching was entirely professional. Sarah had decided to pause her surveillance to claim the corner booth so she could sit next to Nick. She caught the tail end of their interaction.
“It’ll be ready in 20 minutes. Hope you can wait that long,” Veronica slipped.
“Gonna be 20,” Nick immediately called, turning to Sarah. She looked at his recoiling expression and grinned.
“She thought she was slick,” Sarah said to herself. Nick sat down.
“I told you. That was mild. Her vibe is off today,” Nick said, straightening up the salt and pepper caddy on the table.
“I don’t doubt your radar,” she half lied. “You didn’t specify she was hot though.”
“Oh come on. Sarah I don’t even see other girls. They are mere obstructions, like in a video game.”
“Veronica is gonna figure that out,” Sarah said smugly.
“Who?” Sarah looked at him baffled. She gestured with her eyes to Domino’s girl. Now Nick was serving a smug face. He knew her name.
Veronica brought over the food, which Sarah thought was unusual, but thought it was a tactical choice. “Bae, I’m so excited,” Sarah boasted and baited.
“You're excited? I am starving.”
“Glad your appetite is up today.”
“Up and up and up baby. You know me,” he smiled at her, seeming to have forgotten to play any game at all, but winning at it. “Thank you,” he said, giving Veronica no more than a glance, before ripping a cheese breadstick piece off.
Sarah looked at her and asked, “Could I add a big bottle of Coke.” Veronica left and returned as Nick was finishing his first slice, with an unintentionally obnoxious moan. She accepted the bottle and plastic cups on the table with a smile and added, “I guess he really is hungry.” Veronica tried to play it off normally, by laughing politely, but Sarah knew how it was. Normal food things would happen and then her kink painted it a completely different color. Veronica scurried away, but Sarah could see her keeping an eye on their corner. Nick was in his own world as he demolished the pizza. Sarah reminded herself to eat, taking a break after 2 slices and some cheesy bread.
“Do you want any of this chicken? I have been trying to leave it alone for you, but I want it pretty bad,” Nick reasoned.
“All yours Nicky.” He hungrily attached the remaining couple of bites.
“You were right. It is kind of fun to go out. The cheese is way cheesier in-store.” Sarah did notice that everything seemed to have extra cheese, and she wasn’t so sure it was a matter of the cheese firming up in the delivery process. Nick finished the first pizza and slid the tray under the second. He took a sip of his drink and covered his mouth with his fist, muffling a growling burp.
“Oh my gosh,” Sarah playfully whispered, “Did you hear that?” she joked, playing the role of a fellow, much more respectable guest.
“I wasn’t that loud,” Nick said, brushing her teasing off. “I admit I am probably the worst with pizza and Coke though,” he said, rubbing his belly a little. Sarah gave his belly a scritch and he burped again quietly. “Alright let’s not make a show of that,” he said, squeezing her hand, and then pressing it into his belly. “Oh I am getting stuffed though. I don’t know how Batman-like you can remain if you are pushing my fat ass out of this booth,” he chuckled.
“I’m not like so underground,” she shot back. “I don’t hide that we are together and we are very attracted to each other.” Nick nodded along, and chewed enough to respond.
“I do like that. Sometimes I wish everyone could know. I hate to think some people may say you’re with me for some dumb reason or that you tolerate my size. It’s exactly the opposite.”
“Nick likes to be claimed.” He shrugged and smiled. “I like to claim you too. So proud to be with someone so handsome and funny.”
“And hungry, and greedy,” he teased.
“I accepted you from the beginning.”
“This belly was brought to you by hunger, greed, and acceptance,” he said in a radio style voice. “I think you more than accept it though,” he said, slipping her hand under his belly. It was pushing out into his lap in a most enticing way. Sarah broadly gripped his underbelly, attempting to hold as much of his doughy flab as she could. He moaned softly as he continued to work through his slices. Sarah could feel a rumble from inside his belly that was followed by a loud belch that he could not stop. Sarah instinctively reached up for his belly and rubbed it lovingly. There wasn’t anyone in the seating area but the two of them. She looked over at Veronica who was observing from the far end of the ordering counter. The best place to see them from. She clearly had heard and was watching Sarah enviously biting her lip.
“That was a lot,” Sarah teased, hushed.
“I know. But I feel so much better. Was so tight,” he explained. He had finished all the sides and was working on the rest of the pizza.
“You are such a pig Nick.” He blushed at her, having the same adorably coy response to the name calling, since he had invited her to start using it.
“I guess, I am. I don’t love to be such a pig in public,” he said, testing her.
“Then why are you forcing two pizzas in your gut right now? Burping like a fat little pig?”
“Maybe I can’t help it,” Nick said, shoving most of the third from the last slice into his mouth. Sarah was sure Nick was choosing to be so excessive, but was convinced once he started, his appetite took the wheel. Sometimes before Nick would be beyond stuffed and Sarah was confident they should stop, but Nick insisted on having a handful of Oreo’s or something to prove he could. Sarah was not upset; he knew where his limits were and never stuffed himself to the point it was more painful than pleasurable. It helped that he could eat, as a baseline. Sarah looked at him, taking in his thick boy energy.
“You are something special Nick.”
“Just some stuff my tailor told me about. She’s a little bit of a secret freak.” Sarah looked back at Veronica, who looked away, pretending to not have been staring. She began walking over, and Sarah could at least appreciate that she had some nerve.
“Can I get you guys anything else?” Sarah watched her eye Nick, who clearly had inhaled almost all the food on the table, and though it wasn’t the most he’d ever eaten, they were in public and trying to be civilized.
“Are you trying to stuff this bottomless pit more than he is?” Sarah asked in the way normal people said it, as if there was no weight behind the words. Veronica shifted but got a wicked smile on her face.
“He probably could fit a dessert,” Veronica said, having fully lost all restraint. Sarah was shocked. She did not just. Sarah gave Nick a bewildered look when she looked over and saw him nodding along.
“Y'all still got the lava cake?”
“Nick!” Sarah reprimanded. Nick looked at her confused.
“What? I want it.” Sarah looked at him with wide eyes. He quickly caught on to what the issue was, and grinned.
“I guess I was pretty bad already. Ate way too much. I probably shouldn’t. I’m so full already.” Sarah was too turned on to respond. He was stringing all her favorite things together. “But I think I just have to put something sweet in this thing,” he said, shaking his belly. “What do you say? Can I get it?” Sarah blinked at him, stunned, glancing at Veronica who was hanging on his every word too.
“When you put it that way,” she said, on another planet..
“We’ll get the lava cake,” Nick said. “Going hog wild tonight.” Veronica walked away very quickly. Sarah would have to guess she had never seen anyone behave that way outside of whatever chat room she lurked in. Nick was truly a master. She hoped she was blushing as hard as she had attempted to make Nick with all those times she came onto him so overtly. Nick managed to finish the pizza and most of the dessert. He was a bloated hoggish mess by the end, but could live with it knowing what waited for him at home.
At the end of it all, she guessed Veronica got a pretty interesting show out of the deal. Sarah thought she would feel more jealous. She had been ferociously jealous since she could remember and was finding that feeling existed mostly in her head. She also realized through the experience that FFA’s were just people. Just horny women trying to navigate the world around fat guys like everyone else. She by no means absolved the woman from shamelessly flirting or suggesting dessert to her man, but she could at least acknowledge she might have been tempted as well, if in the same position. But like Nick had said, she was more low key.
She could accept that there were more aggressive FFAs. But maybe the Domino’s was Veronica’s territory. She ruled it recklessly. Sarah wondered how often Veronica ascended, vampire like, on unsuspecting fat guys just looking to grab something to eat. Was she picky, or did she go after just anyone? Nick was clearly a top shelf babe, but did she go after the scruffier guys. Walmart big and tall section sponsored? She also wondered how the men responded to her. She was gorgeous. And all just to work at a pizza chain restaurant. Nick wanted to criticize Sarah for dressing up-ish to go out, but Veronica put on a full face for work. But all in a successful effort to be dangerously alluring.
Sarah had poorly ruled the Bridal shop, far more reserved. Nick was the only guy she ever attempted to flirt with, though he was the most gorgeous. Sarah was more like a sniper, who was not afraid to be patient. However, she had to admit she was shy when just meeting a handsome guy. When she thought about it, most large men were uncomfortable with her interaction with them just for the fact she was measuring them. She enjoyed measuring big guys, but never let them in on that. She thought it was too weird. Veronica had few reservations, besides if the guy's girlfriend was literally watching her, apparently. Sarah guessed she was more like Nick, not really noticing other guys, not even the big ones, after they had gotten together. He was all she needed. And that evening, he certainly needed her to help give him a rub down from his shameless pizza pig out.
Sarah lounged on the couch as she scrolled on social media, waiting for Nick to return from the gym. Though taking a short break, she had been working hard to start her business from the ground up, and she found that using her friends and family to spread the word was actually helpful. She had managed to get a couple of jobs where she would make alterations and was currently working on a custom dress. She was finding this style of work, though not consistent enough yet, to be far more fulfilling than the bridal shop had been. She enjoyed being her own boss, and the freedom it provided. She was able to spend much more time with Nick. She had been going with him to the gym once a week. A new routine that was always concluded with Nick gorging on some kind of take out. He was absolutely ravenous when he worked out, as was she after watching him. Nick had been trying out new attire for the gym. As his arms were starting to bulk up, he wanted to show them off more. He had started wearing these particularly thin and slouchy gym tank tops. They perfectly revealed his soft but tanklike arms as well as the side chub of his chest. One had even gotten stretched further in the wash, and the arm hole gave a delicious view of the top of his love handle. She was smitten with the changes happening to Nick’s body. Based on how he was flexing his strength around the house to tempt her, she figured Nick did too.
She was looking forward to going to Tristen’s wedding at the end of the week. The suits had come in and Nick had picked his up. When he tried it on, Sarah had to get him out of it not soon enough after. It fit him perfectly, which reflected to Sarah that they had been successful in moderating their increasing habits. He had been relieved that Meg had not remembered him from his cameo on the security cam, though Sarah secretly thought she did. How could she forget? Sarah was happy to hear that she had appeared manically busy. Served her damn right. Nick had mentioned that Mike thought he might need further alterations. This information would lead some to think that Sarah had not done a good job measuring or that the sewing was done improperly. But Sarah was more than confident in her skill, and had rarely seen their company botch a sew job. Sarah was confident that Mike might have been the inconsistent factor. His girlfriend was going to stop by with the suit and remeasurements.
Sarah looked around the living room and saw a few things that could be tidied up. She busied herself with a quick run of the vacuum and wiped down the coffee table. She looked over at her phone as it buzzed from notifications. After checking her messenger app, she went to the door and greeted the guest. She had been so curious about the woman since she became aware of her existence. She watched her trot up to the porch and Sarah couldn’t help but notice how pretty and petite she was.
“Hey, Sarah? I’m Tara! Mike’s girlfriend.”
“Hey Tara. Come on in,” she greeted warmly. She followed behind Tara and took the suit from her. “Can I get you a drink? Seltzer?”
“I’d love one,” she replied. Tara took a seat in one of the armchairs and looked around the room. Sarah handed her a beverage and sat down across from her.
“I’m so happy I could help with the suit,” she offered, not wanting things to get awkward before she got to really scope Tara out. She seemed to be pretty laid back, tomboyish. She wore her medium blond hair in a clip and dressed in athleisure wear. Though Sarah would not be surprised if the woman was athletic. A runner probably.
“Trust me, we are too. Mike appreciates it big time, even if he won’t say that,” Tara said, with an eye roll. Sarah laughed, remembering how he had been. “My big grump,” she said lovingly. Sarah’s brain picked up on it right away.
“He was certainly in a mood,” Sarah added. “And big,” she thought to herself. “How long have you guys been together?”
“Almost two years,” Tara said, sounding surprised. “This summer will make two.” She nodded confidently.
“I have to ask, do those boys hang out? Am I with the wallflower of the group or what?” Tara laughed goofily.
“Sarah! It’s just how they are. Mike’s like ‘oh my friend x or y’, and I’m wondering where they heck they’re at. Never met them. I haven’t even met Nick before! Mike and Mark are inseparable, if that counts.”
“Maybe not,” Sarah giggled. They found conversation easy and got caught up in chatting about the most recent season of Bridgerton. “Those cheeks though,” she exclaimed. Tara laughed heartily, remembering the perfect butt shot on the show. They both looked to the door when they heard it open. Nick clambered into the archway, startled only slightly by the presence of Tara, who to him was a stranger. He smiled and waved.
“Nick, this is Tara. She’s Mike’s girlfriend.”
“Nice to finally meet you. What do we owe the visit?” Sarah looked over Nick’s glistening body, loving the peeks at his thick sides in his tank top, that was sticking to him gorgeously. Tara explained about how Sarah was fixing the suit for Mike, and Sarah watched Nick shift and pull at his shirt. Sarah thought it was weird, because Nick wasn’t a fidgety guy. She looked over at Tara, whose eyes appeared to be swallowing Nick whole. Sarah typically would be furious and totally green with envy, but she was feeling more intrigued by the data point. Not to mention, she didn’t mind seeing Nick twist under another woman’s approving gaze. “So ole Mikey couldn’t hold steady?” Nick asked. Sarah looked at Tara for her response. She had been wanting to hear the story so badly, but didn’t want to outright ask it. Nick had no filter. Tara chuckled, blushing a little.
“He’s just fluctuating right now. Which is no big deal,” Tara said very chill-ly.
“Glad I’m not alone,” he said. “Well I’m gonna jump in the shower. I’ll leave you ladies to it.” Tara turned and looked at Sarah with a suggestive look. Sarah began to sink into the couch.
“What?”
“Sarah?” she said suggestively.
“Tara?” Sarah mirrored, feeling she may have figured it out too.
“You like fat guys,” Tara whispered.
“And so do you,” Sarah accused back. Both began cackling loudly. “You were shameless just then by the way,” Sarah said motioning to where Nick just had stood. Tara looked at her guiltily.
“I’m sorry. It was not a proud moment. But that… shirt,” she drooled. “Mike must have purposefully kept certain details about his friends from me,” she said, pondering. “And I think we might be even, seeing as you measured my whole man. Inseam and all.”
“Fair enough,” Sarah said. She felt like she had so many things she wanted to ask her about. She had gotten to talk with other women online about her interests, but always felt equally guarded as everyone else, which left things feeling sterile. Tara seemed as real and down to Earth as anyone, and she was a girl that was in Nick’s circle too, enough. “So was outgrowing the suit an accident… or,” Sarah led.
“An on purpose?” Tara leaned back smugly. “Of course it wasn’t planned. The suit was just forgotten. And when he picked it up, he remembered that he should be wearing that…months later.”
“It happens,” Sarah said with a shrug. “Nick had the same thing happen for his last wedding. He lucked out this time. For Mike though, probably will look better anyway,” she winked. Tara smirked.
“He doesn’t look bad. That’s for sure.” Tara pulled out her phone and sent Sarah the measurements, not wanting to forget to. Sarah’s brow raised minorly when she saw the numbers. Tara took notice instantly. “What?”
“Nothing,” Sarah said quickly. “I can get the changes done by Thursday.”
“You know the before,” she accused. “You are dirty Sarah. And you absolutely must tell me!” Sarah blushed. She didn’t want to admit that she was right, but considering she was just like her, she knew it was futile.
“Anyone else would not have figured all that out.”
“Neither of us is a regular ole person. Spill it Sarah.”
“He was at 46.”
“Three inches,” Tara beamed. “You can fix that right?”
“I can fix anything.” She could see the thought running through Tara’s head and the repression of her yearning to ask. Tit for tat.“You are so curious Tara. It’s killing you.”
“What? Me? It’s absolutely none of my business.” She paused and cleared her throat. “It’s more though. You can at least tell me that.” Sarah gave a look that confirmed her deduction. Tara smiled and nodded. “Good on ya. But I probably should be getting out of here. Nick said he was gonna drop it off later?” Sarah nodded.
“I’ll see you at the wedding?” Tara nodded confidently.
“Most definitely,” she said with a wink. Sarah walked her out and waved as she pulled off. She went into the bedroom and waited for Nick to come out of the shower. She could not go many days without seeing him walk out the shower with his skin dewy and hair damp. She particularly loved how he let his belly help hold the towel up around his waist. With going to the gym, Nick was moving with more confidence, and he had already had a bit. A cocky chub was a very sexy thing.
Nick walked out of the bathroom whistling and scrubbing a second towel at his hair. She scanned over his beefy body and giggled when he started posing with his arms flexed over his head. The curve and hang of his belly was still very prominent, but it seemed more supported by his muscles. She also loved the way his thigh muscles were starting to pop. His squats were paying off. “You are stunning,” she complimented.
“Why thank you Sarah,” he said graciously. “Tara is just like you, huh?” He said, pulling on his boxer briefs. “She was giving me ‘the Sarah eyes’. Unmistakeable.”
“Is that what you call it?”
“All I know, my love. I catch them all over the place now. Especially more recently.” Sarah’s brows lowered.
“Where?” Nick enjoyed her distress and interest.
“The bank,” he said. “There’s a teller there. He gives me ‘the’ look.” Sarah couldn’t help but smile.
“You are making that up.”
“Oh, I certainly am not,” he said adamantly. “Go with me next Tuesday. That’s when he works. Ask me how I know. He told me so,” Nick said, laying next to her with the grin of someone who had just spilled tea all over the floor.
“Not really that many places,” she sang.
“I got more,” he said, clicking on the TV. “Domino’s girl is super bad. Like you know how you are like the stealthy type?” He looked over at her for confirmation. Sarah laughed.
“The stealthy type?” she repeated.
“You are like, I like big guys, and a lot more,” he said scandalously, “But I do so quietly. On the down low. Not showy or big about it.” Sarah grinned, and nudged him playfully.
“You make me sound like Batman.”
“Better, for sure. But Domino’s girl is like, in your face. I try to avoid her shifts.”
“What does she do?” Sarah was intrigued, but not anticipating she’d like an ‘in your face’ girl like her talking to Nick.
“She’s always trying to get me to order more, or asking me if it’s all for me. ‘Oh I bet you could house it all’ type stuff. Never if anyone is around, but uncomfortable as fuck.”
“Well, continue to avoid going in there for sure. The aggressive types are not to be tempted. Beware their whiles,” she said ghostily.
“She wasn’t even close to as hot as you are about that stuff.”
“Who? Me?” He kissed the top of her head.
“Yes you. Now, we’ve talked about Domino’s enough to warrant getting some kind of food action going. You know I am starving.” Sarah pulled out her phone, choosing not to comment on the fact that they hadn’t actually been talking about Domino’s food, and began her modernly heroic hunt for food in cyberspace, until she got a mischievous idea.
"Do you think Domino’s girl is working tonight?" Nick looked over at her questioning and suspect. He took a moment and replied.
"Funny enough, she just might be." He squinted at Sarah. "What are you plotting now?"
"I'm not plotting anything. You said Domino’s. We should go. I'm gonna get a shower." Sarah patted her thighs and got up. Nick looked up from the bed.
"To pick up Domino’s?" he said in disbelief.
"We can eat there! It's not a crime. We never go out-out," she said, playing flustered, poorly. Nick laughed at her.
"Whenever we try, you get too hot from it and we take it home! Or did you forget the last, what, 3 times?" Sarah comically hung her jaw open and rolled her eyes.
"Whatever. We are going. Okay?" She started sounding very demanding, but by the end was truly checking with him.
"Yes. We'll go live out whatever fantasy you got buzzing in your head," he said with a wink.
