Thanks to all who attended the event, we hope that everyone had fun! Keep an eye out for announcements on future events, as this one was fairly successful.
ANNOUNCEMENT
It has been brought to our attention that the previous statement led some of you to believe that you could die due to bad luck on a random roll. This is incorrect!
The only way for you to die at this event is for you to explicitly DECIDE that your character is dead.
If you have terrible luck and take a lot of damage, you will be considered incapacitated. That is, you are injured to the point that you can no longer fight. At this point someone will move you to the sidelines where the healers can start your recovery.
YOUR CHARACTER IS NOT DEAD UNLESS YOU DECIDE THEY ARE.
For clarification, the RP event counts as a "cannonical" event. You can be injured in the fray to the point where you can no longer fight and thus ends your participation in the event. Don't die needlessly, because we will treat the deaths as cannon.
A Few Reminders
Hello! I thought it best to remind you of a few things for the event on Sunday!
1. If your character dies in the RP, they are dead. A character death is a serious thing, and because a player in Minecraft can't come back as a zombie, once you die you are permanently dead, as in: you are out of the RP for good. I realize that a few characters are undead to begin with, but even they can be destroyed. Try not to let this happen! If someone has the potential to die, save them!
2. Try to utilize the random roll. An RP can be made more unpredictable and more fun by using a random integer generator. random.org is a good example. Typically it is done out of 20. You don't always need to report what you rolled (you can if you feel the need), just act out the consequences of what you got. This is a good way to prevent power gaming. If a mod thinks that you are being too successful (as in you are making up your rolls) they will roll for you.
3. Healing items are typically hard to get. It takes a long time to get a healing potion or a golden apple, and you likely won't be carrying a stack around with you. Think to when you play the game, I'll wager very few of you walk around with more than one or two healing items. Use your healing items wisely, you don't have an infinite supply. One person cannot heal everyone.
4. Hardly any of you are masters at your craft. This is a large horde of zombies we're talking about, and it is highly unrealistic that you could take on more that six or seven at a time (in the game that would be about all anyone could handle). There will be no "I kill 50 zombies in one go." These are tough mobs, and remember that in Yogspack they can spawn with swords and armor, making them slightly more sentient and more difficult to beat.
5. Remember that you don't know that a zombie horde is coming. You're coming to town for a celebration and, as such, should only have the weapons and healing items that you would be carrying normally.
. Have fun! This is the first major event, hope that you enjoy it!
RP Event Details
Hello! I'm sure you all are wondering what the event this coming Sunday is! This is the prompt for the RP: The town's official opening after being tentatively active is taking place! A festival has been scheduled and it's planned to be a lot of fun! However... The influx of villagers and people has attracted the attention of the zombies. The festival is set to start at sundown, but as you are just gearing up to celebrate the distant sounds of a hoard can be heard from the darkness...
Roleplay Event!
There will be a roleplay event on Sunday, November 2nd at 3:00 PM Central Standard Time USA in the main chat room. Further details will be posted later this week.
Hello, dearest circle members! For those who do not know this yet:
We have an all circles rp room (as well as rp rooms for the seperate circles) in http://thecirclesofmagic.tumblr.com - Go check it out and get some bloody rp action!
So, a fair amount of people have been curious and/or confused about what this whole ‘Circles of Magic’ is about, so I thought I’d summarise how it all began.
The story begins thusly:
Once upon a time there was a benevolent Underyog named KirinDave, and he liked to encourage fan content within the Yogscast fandom.
