salutations to the goddess, for whom the whole world is a divine play,
whose presence brings joy, who gives pleasure to vishnu as his sister,
who is praised by indra, and is the consort of the lord who has a blue throat.

⚜️ hindu astrology, also called jyotish (jyotiṣa; from jyót 'light, heavenly body') and, more recently, vedic astrology, is the traditional hindu system of astrology. it is one of the six auxiliary disciplines in hinduism connected with the study of the vedas. jyotish is one of the vedangas, the six auxiliary disciplines that support vedic rituals. early jyotish was concerned with the preparation of a calendar to determine dates for sacrificial rituals and mentioned little about planets; highlighting the more mythological aspects of the subject, mentioning rahu & ketu (the nodes) & the term graha, which is now taken to mean planet.
the main reason behind introducing vedic astrology in such a traditional and ancient light is to highlight the cultural importance of what you will be immersing yourself in. hindu religion allows liberty in what all—atheists, people of different faiths and hindus themselves, choose to adopt from the religion. just as doing yoga or meditation does not make you a hindu, practising jyotish doesn't, either.
⚜️ regardless, going beyond this point, it is expected of all to be respectful of this ancient science; and whether or not you believe in it, in that opinion nobody is interested. it would be for the welfare of all that anybody who is apprehensive of it does not go beyond this point. civilness, politeness and respect towards the hindu religion is expected from all.
my ask box is open at all times, but i will not be doing any personal readings or interpretations; free or otherwise. before you ask me anything though, do make sure you check my this post out; it has every basic thing you might wanna know before jumping into vedic analyses.
although of course, questions of general interest are heavily appreciated since i might miss them while working on posts on my own. ask the right question, and i may as well make an entire post on it <3
a few examples, listed below—
what does a weak jupiter atmakaraka indicate?
what does it mean if my moon is weak but my sun is very strong?
what does a mars amatyakaraka indicate?
but of course, questions are not limited to this. if you're unsure, then just shoot an ask.

women r so emotional *rolls eyes*- how the moon signs operate differently in women
aries moon: she’s driven, likes to make decisions herself and doesn’t mind confrontation when it comes to her values, loved ones, and boundaries. she’s passionate and excited and rarely finds herself bored because she’ll start projects out of nowhere or find something to preoccupy herself. she doesn’t know how to do anything halfway she goes all in, she’ll ride for u hard, but she knows how to cut where it hurts. she’s unique and does things her own way.
taurus moon: she’s a girly girl. loves pink, movies, makeup, and dressing up. but she’s also a huge homebody who wants nothing more than the soft life. she’s a lover of comfort and u can’t make her move if she doesn’t want to. she’s a romantic at heart and she really values those close to her. she loves flowers, music, and nature. she’s into things that she can touch like art, cooking, baking, sewing.
gemini moon: she’s a yapper. she loves social media and she loves her friends, her friends are like her lovers! she’s super interested in psychology and learning about the world, any form of learning is interesting to her and she knows a lot about a lot. she loves traveling, doing things for fun, but she also hates boredom so she’s restless, changes her path a lot, bothers her friends when she can’t fall asleep. she flirts a lot but doesn’t fall in love often lol.
cancer moon: she’s a lunar girly. she’s soft, but also she doesn’t let just anyone in her life. she has a small circle and loves her routines. she loves sweets, good food, autumn, warm blankets, coffee/tea, and her favs. home is her hearth and she’s really private. she craves romance but she doesn’t fall in love easily. she’s sensitive and probably ruminates on things she’s insecure about or offensive things people have said to her. she does things to either soothe herself or because she’s passionate. she likes to live in a world separate from the world.
leo moon: she’s LOUD & proud. she needs people around her, she’s a romantic but she’s super into her friends, like she just wants to be everything to everyone. she has standards she sets for herself which sometimes means she’s super harsh on herself. she’s a big kid tho and loves to have fun, she probably still enjoys doing things like playing board games, riding a bike, going to amusement parks, coloring, playing around lol. she has a need to be recognized so she’s determined to leave her mark and strive to be the best she can! she’s pretty stubborn in her opinions but she’s warm and likeable lol. she’s a romantic but she has a lot of pride and is conscious of the image she projects so she plays dumb or keeps things to herself.
virgo moon: she’s particular, she’s sees the world through a very analytical lens. she constantly tries to figure things out in her mind which means she can go silent a lot. she overthinks. she wants to be perfect and cares a lot about how she comes off which gives her social anxiety. she gives a lot to others with a silent hope that they will see her and validate her efforts. she cares a lot about being good at something, she doesn’t want to feel like a failure. she’s not always girly, sometimes she does things because she feels she has to, more than she wants to. but she has a kindness that’s unmistakable and can be incredibly helpful to others.
libra moon: she wants to be liked by everyone. she’s a romantic but she’ll convince herself she’s not when a relationship fails. she’s witty and enjoys being social, also very interested in fashion, beauty, hanging out, she can be into partying and going to local events with her friends. she loves going out for any reason, loves texting but she gets distracted easily. she’s a yapper too but she can tame it because she’s socially aware when others aren’t feeling it. shes really dependent on her friends in life, they give her a sense of identity. she yearns to be the kewl girl, but in her own unique way. she can be random asf and silly.
scorpio moon: she’s deep, but she’ll act like she’s fine 9/10 because vulnerability feels like someone is policing her. she vents tho somehow: a really trusted friend, her partner, a therapist, a diary or her notes app. she’s super intense and can’t do anything without becoming obsessed with it. like don’t let her get a hold of an idea because she’ll get obsessed or she’ll start binge watching movies and shows because she doesn’t know how to do things in moderation. that applies to her fav foods and romance, she needs to feel all in or she acts distant and cold. she loves control, hates feeling out of it, even if it means carrying more responsibility or burdens she will do it. she has a subtle sex appeal and she’s super observant of other people.
sagittarius moon: she’s young, wild, and free forever. she doesn’t like schedules and routine, she loves spontaneity and randomness. also super whimsical type of woman who can borderline being fake with her positivity. she actually is very supportive of others and loves giving compliments. she’s like a hippie or spiritual girly, some can be religious. she’s very optimistic about the future, has a lot of ideas, sometimes can seem like she has ADHD, she loves exploring, learning. she has random trinkets and unique items she’s collected over the years. she can be super chill, but she also has a strong convictions and doesn’t like to be told what to do.
capricorn moon: she’s very serious and has a social battery. once it’s drained she can be a bitch or just super aloof. she has a lot of ambition and honestly hates being broke. she loves quality items and can shop a lot! she likes to feel like she has money, so she works hard for the things she wants. she doesn’t like emotional drama or dishonest people, like she’d rather u be forthcoming with her because she easily detects lies. she can struggle with depression and pull away from people easily. she can also be bossy and want to set the tone in her friendships. she keeps a lot of her life private!
aquarius moon: she’s quirky. she doesn’t like to ever be figured out, tho, so she remains a mystery. she really has this need to understand things but she has this very specific frustation when people don’t agree with her— she can get into arguments quickly, of course her fixed nature can sometimes cause her to be mean or say shit without empathy. she has a lot of dreams, like she literally goes through stages of chasing after them, and then pivots, it’s like she hates feeling settled. she can move a lot and she loves people but the thought of closeness makes her super distant. she’s an enigma to her ownself because half the time she’s trying to figure out who she is underneath.
pisces moon: she’s super sensitive, she loves sleeping and being in her own cocoon. she loves listening to music 24/7 and has specific routines that she feels helps her to be grounded. she’s into aesthetics in her own way, likes to have her own look. she gets close to people really fast but also falls off the radar. like she needs time alone, hates being rushed, probably doesn’t like crowded places and likes chill activities. she’s a lover girl but she gets her heart broken or played a lot. she’s kind and caring and has a lot of interesting hobbies and incredibly creative. sometimes it feels she doesn’t live up to her potential. a lot of people admire her, she gives off an innocence and looks young. she’s very emotional and sometimes needs someone close to her to feel stable/grounded.
did u resonate with ur moon sign? if so, u would probably really resonate with a full natal reading. book with me on my ko-fi!

Empty 7th: If you have 7th house is empty from planets, I'd suggest to look at the sign and the planet who rules it, ex: 7H Aries/Scorpio =》 Mars, 7H Gemini/Virgo =》 Mercury and so on
I've seen capricorn Venus having a thing for Egyptian aesthetics .
Fire venuses form a crush very soon but it's very easy to loose as well , it's hard to tie them down in a relationship because as fast as they form a crush they also have this internal knowledge that many factors are to be considered in a relationship beyond looks , so commitment comes later even if the relationship or situationship might look fiery and exciting .
Gemini moons have this thing about themselves that they're very shaky , shaky in the way they approach themselves and the world , something that makes it seem that whenever they talk the words are kind of levitating especially when they don't have an earth placement .
Having a prominent saturn placement leads to premature greying due to stress factors .
Pisces having a mole on their feet or stomach .
Virgo men have a knack for claiming they have done a lot when in actuality they have a problem with lacking substance with whatever knowlege or skill they have acquired.
Capricorn women have a very few friends maybe 1 or 2 , the general public considers them extremely schemy and it would be a lie to say that they're not but if they genuinely love you , they keep all that aside , only to show you genuine emotion and bonding . They're not everyone's cup of tea for sure.
Sagittarius mercury have this inclination of writing each and every word while learning , they need to write to learn.
Capricorn moons are also a master at observing people and forming valuable connections that people fail to connect at the first go.
Pisces men have a provider instinct yes but it's mostly their demeanour which gets them classified as feminine , it takes soft souls to really love and understand a pisces person.
I've seen a lot of leo women using a soft feminine persona to get up high in the ladder or form many connections , once you get in their bad books the real bad bitch shines through to show you the spot , they're also extremely selective about their circle .
Prominent mercury in chart also might lead to having a slow digestion or digestion problems when it comes to extremely spicy food.
Taurus women often don't know that they're beautiful, despite Taurus women being the epitome of beauty it's crazy how they 😭 often times don't know that they're pretty like gurl. Very empathetic and extremely supportive as well.
Aquarius have their inclination towards byzantine art , reading memoirs etc.
A lot of scorpio women are into writing their emotions away in diaries which often times get famous later on . A lot into the genre of stream of consciousness as well .
Please remember these are based on sidereal placements , have a lovely day sweethearts .
-Mercury in Aries -very bold, direct, straight to the point. They don't bs you and they don't like being bullshitted either. Honestly they will make you cry.
-Mercury in Taurus - the types to hold everything in until you provoke them too much. They don't like losing their marbles, bc when they do they're like a bull in a china shop. The points they make are always spot on. Rip to you.
-Mercuy in Gemini - you CAN NOT get a word in with them. Also they are FAST with their comebacks and counterarguments. The only way you can win is if you have a fast thinking and analytical brain. GG tho
-Mercury in Cancer - the "kill them with kindness" individuals. Once they get pissed off they can become passive-aggressive, maybe even petty. But provoke them too much and they will CUT YOU OFF. They don't like being played
-Mercury in Leo - "you talking to me?", when you hear that sentence just shake their hand, apologise and turn the other way. Cuz if they call you out, they will do it publicly. Or if they're introverted they will clock ur ass behind closed doors. Regardless you WILL hear about your behaviour.
-Mercury in Virgo - maybe the only mercury sign I wouldn't wanna argue with. Very analytical. They just wait for the right moment to destroy you with facts and a well said comment. Can be very cold.
-Mercury in Libra - the phrase "confuse the enemy" came from these guys. They like to be fair and from what I've witnessed they will hear you out. But if you don't come up with a convincing reason as to why you did what you did they're cutting you off then and there.
-Mercury in Scorpio - the types to hand you a folder with printed out screenshots in colour and either interrogate you or just straight up be done with you. They remember a lot, and they will confront you about things. Also you CAN NOT lie to them and pls don't try.
-Mercury in Sagittarius - super bold, direct and will confront you to your face. They don't shy away from confrontation, but they're also the types to blow up your phone demanding an answer or they want you to tell them directly. They don't like to wait on a response too much, because they wanna know wassup and then move on.
-Mercury in Capricorn - Very cold people. You will feel like you're in court waiting on trial. They will also argue with logic and don't like shady shit happening. The types to not want to talk much because they don't want to give you ANY material to use against them.
-Mercury in Aquarius - very detached, emotionless even. Sometimes they might just joke around and laugh it off, but when they're serious they are very logical and quick with their comebacks. It's very hard to work them up because they just don't care. Might ghost you.
-Mercury in Pisces - they don't like confrontation. Honestly might even ghost you so you can marinate on the situation and consider your own actions. Or they may just dismiss you altogether. If they do confront you, it's useless spinning the story because they remember A LOT. So don't even try.
Hope you guys liked this, I'll be back with more cool stuff soon,
Here is a novella by Anton Chekhov named “Ward No. 6”. Quick summary: The story follows Dr. Andrei Ragin, the cynical head doctor. Over time, he befriends a paranoid, intelligent patient named Ivan Gromov, who was driven mad by persecution mania. Their lengthy debates about stoicism, suffering, and injustice (Ragin argues suffering is meaningless and should be endured; Gromov insists passivity is cowardly) cause the doctor’s isolation from society.
Soon, the community accuses Ragin of going mad himself. He is tricked and forcibly committed to Ward No. 6, where he experiences the brutality firsthand. Realizing too late that his detached philosophy was a form of moral cowardice, he is beaten by Nikita and dies of a stroke shortly after. The novella critiques indifference, bureaucracy, and the fine line between sanity and madness.
Anton Chekhov had revati moon and not only was a writer but also was physician by profession, so this novella is sort of autobiographical.
Revati is the culmination of Mercury's energy. This is the nakshatra of dreamers. They are capable of creating entire worlds around themselves. This happens because they are deeply connected to Maya, the quality of illusion inherent in Vishnu, which sustains the drama of life. Revati can be seen as the highest point of civilization, with all its advantages and disadvantages.
The issue of Dr. Andrei Ragin in this novella is in the fact that he was in denial of his physical existence, having the removed nature from the troubles of everyday man. That’s why he got to experience a severe physical pain at the end of novella — everything has to be in balance; if something gets skewed to one particular side it has to be brought back to balance (by harshness of reality)

Pile One: So what’s sweet about you is you get confused over even tiny things, hahaha. You’re a little cutie patootie who’s thinking and has the ability to process thoughts slowly. What’s sweet about you is your enthusiasm for life. You always go behind what you love, and you’re a dreamer — pile -one lovey energies. What’s spicy about you is your anger. Some people somehow get seduced by your anger. For others, I can say people find you passionate for life, so they can’t resist how you are. You’re so chaotic, yet so calm at times. People find your kindness spicy. You have your flaws — that’s what makes you unique. You’re giving love, care, and affection. People see you as someone cute and can be really good in bed. People find your baby face, chaotic behaviour, and laziness spicy — especially when you act like a brat.

Pile two — What people find sweet about you is your sensitivity. You could be someone who cries over basic small things, and people admire that about you. What’s sweet about you is how highly sensitive you are. You don’t just get over your feelings easily; you’re unlike that. You prioritize love, relationships, and family at the same time. You’re always there for others — that’s what’s sweet about you. Now, what’s spicy about you is that you are so raw, grounded, and confident within yourself. It drives people crazy sometimes. You’re so obsessed with yourself, and it’s so damn hot to see you taking control, leading the path, and being in charge. Your presence demands attention, and you know you’ve got it. That’s spicy about you..

Pile Three: What’s sweet about you is your giving nature. You want to get rich so that you can spoil others around you. You love seeing others happy, and you want to give them everything they want. You’re not limited to your loved ones only; you want to see everyone happy. With good fortune, it’s everyone. What’s spicy about you is your strength. You’ve got this annoying attitude — your bold, loud, and dynamic actions leave people questioning themselves, like, “What is spicy about someone called do that?” What’s spicy about you is your power. You know you’ve got the power, and you love being in that power. You get the food and that thrill. You know when to play the fool and when to show different sides from others. You’re dynamic, but you don’t dominate people in dumb ways. And they don’t know this, but you know what you are doing.

PILE 1 -> 3
Pile 1
Your future career places you in a position where people notice you, respect you, and recognize your talent publicly. Success is not hidden in this pile. You are meant to stand out, lead, influence, or build a reputation that others admire. Some of you are meant for social media, leadership roles, public speaking, business, law, creative industries, or any path where your presence matters. By next Friday, you may receive confirmation, validation, motivation, or a sign that pushes you closer toward this direction.

Pile 2
Your future career cannot grow while you keep trying to juggle everything at once. This pile shows someone constantly overwhelmed, uncertain, or emotionally disconnected from what they truly want. Your success begins once you stop forcing timelines and allow yourself to choose stability over chaos. The right opportunity comes when you finally feel emotionally and mentally ready to commit to a path instead of surviving day by day.

Pile 3
Your future career requires you to separate yourself from distracting people, unhealthy comparisons, or environments that keep you small. Some of you are surrounded by people who secretly discourage your growth or make you doubt your abilities. Your success starts the moment you take initiative instead of waiting for support, permission, or reassurance. The first step changes everything for you.

Mars in 1st house: These people can be very possessive in general, but when it comes to sex, that feeling is heightened a lot more. They prefer positions where they are the ones in control and can hold their partner's body. You can be on top, but that doesn't matter because they will be the ones controlling the pace and the pressure. Never-ending stamina in bed, will keep on going for rounds after rounds, can keep you up all night long. If a man has this, you will never have to worry about him only lasting for like 2-3 minutes. Honestly.....never met an asexual who had this....soooo.....connect the dots. They like to enjoy sex, and sexual compatibility will definitely be a priority in relationships. The day they start seeing sex as something that they need to do rather than something that they want to do is the day they'll end the relationship. They are CLINGY, constantly being held, kissed, and having physical contact is something you will experience if you're with them. They will expect the same from you as well and WILL get sulky if you say "please, not now, I am busy"....cuz like....HOW DARE YOU??? Really good sexual partners, especially if mars is unafflicted. Women with this should NEVER marry someone with low libido, it's gonna lead to a lot of frustration and anger.
Actions- grabbing your face with one hand and kissing, "fuck me" eyes in public spaces, shirt grabbing, lip biting, hickeys (LOTS OF THEM), and hands going under the shirt VERY quickly after kissing, they also love receiving Cunnilingus or Fellatio (that's the way to their.... heart)
Mars in 2nd house: You thought mars in 1st was aggressive, try fucking someone with THIS placement. They are possessive too but in a more bdsm manner; blindfolding, tying you up with a FUCKING ROPE, restricting your movements by using a physical object, spanking you if you don't do as they say....yuupp, right up their alley. They are AGGRESSIVE, especially the men, and can be rougher than average. I have noticed that they hide it really well though, its like, they know its not socially acceptable so they act like they're vanilla, but then once they've had sex with their partner at least 5-6 times, they will either start to talk about the taboo stuff that they're into or they will just gradually start incorporating it into whenever you guys have sex. Women with this often spend their entire life not realising that "normal" sex doesn't do it for them. They might think that sex just isn't for them because a man holding the reins during sex just.....does not do it for them. So, whether or not they're good really depends on how comfortable they are with themselves. If they're in denial about what they enjoy and like, they can really end up hurting their partners, but if they are accepting of their desires, then they'll be the best sex you'll ever have.
Actions- waist grabbing, hands on your back, face cupping, kissing you in front of your other admirers, and sex in expensive lingerie, neck can be a hot spot, the moment you bury your face in their neck or kiss them on the crook, you'll literally see them MELT
Mars in 3rd house: So, with this...you really gotta train these people. Their heart will be in the right place, but their fingers and tongue won't. The good thing is, they are REALLY willing to put in the work and learn what their partner wants and then please them in that manner. People who know about their body, what turns them on, and what makes them orgasm are the best fit for these people. On the other hand, if you are a virgin, stay away, not because they are bad or selfish or anything but rather because their performance in bed depends on how much and how well their partner communicates their needs and wants. These people are not inherently good at sex but they are really sweet and considerate, and WILL listen to you, and that is the only thing that matters. If you are a woman with mars in 2nd, then a partner with mars in 3rd is gonna be perfect for you, because they won't ever make you feel embarrassed for wanting things that are "different". They are like an excited puppy in bed; will take the initiative and will do their best to please you. Got those puppy eyes with 45-degree tilt mastered too.
Actions- kneeling in front of you, tiny kisses all over your face and body, sex in a spooning position, and sex with the lights off (....just something that I have heard from them), kiss them in the middle of an argument, JUST TRUST ME ON THAT ONE OKAY, they'll love interlocking fingers during any kind of intimate act
Mars in the 4th house: I found this in many books and in my personal research, but these people are HAWT. They are considered conventionally attractive and are commonly listed as having the highest sex appeal; Beyoncé, Halle Berry, and Megan Thee Stallion are some women with this placement. They love appearing sexy, have extremely high stamina, and an even higher libido. They will always be ready to GO AT IT. They are sex gods, that's literally it. Even though this is the natural debilitation house for mars, it is good when it comes to sex because these people are really able to form a deep bond with their partner during sex. They are the masters in understanding each moan, look, breath, clench that their partner does during sex, will know when to change positions, when to go slow, when to be rough, when to hold, and when to let the partner hold. They are great partners in bed BUT this placement can cause some....dissatisfaction in married life, especially for women, so choose your partner VERY carefully. Also, the men with this can be a tad bit selfish in bed, so if you are a straight woman, make the man do things first and then reciprocate accordingly, get eaten and then eat.
Actions- wet kisses, licking, biting, can be very much into using toys during sex, will make sure that you are completely lubricated before getting it on, and will love shower sex, pool sex.....water sex in general, this is also like....the "attracted to milf or dilf" placement
Mars in the 5th house: These people love sex and telling people that they love sex. If mars is unafflicted, then their relationship with sex will be pretty positive. They know what they want and how to get it. They'll be the ones to initiate sexual contact with their partners, but despite that, once the action actually starts, they take the back seat and let their partners do the heavy lifting, but it's fine because they manage to find partners who are more than okay with this kind of dynamic. If you work in a creative field, they'll let you hit, that's literally their only criteria. I know like....7 people with this and idk how, but they ALWAYS manage to find some aspiring actor or musician to fuck, it's actually pretty insane to me. I have nothing to say though, get that rhythmic genitalia ig... Oh and they are also super submissive in bed, and if you're more sexually confident than they are, then you can get them to do almost ANYTHING. They can also have a thing for exhibitionism...do what you want with that information. These people are also very sexually expressive, I feel like people often interchange shy and submissive, so I wanna emphasize that they are submissive, NOT SHY.
Actions- riding you in the car, engaging in extreme sexual teasing in public spaces, and sex in places where there might be a chance of getting caught, they love that shit, it turns them on so fucking much, acting all oblivious while saying the DIRTIEST and HORNIEST shit ever, women can be more into missionary while men can be more into reverse cow girl
Mars in the 6th house: These people may not be all that interested in having sex, they may view sex as an activity that they need to do because their partner likes it and not because of their personal interest in it. This can be an indicator of asexuality. They may also be more interested in kissing and cuddling rather than sex....I know many people with this and they are okay with almost everything except penetration. Because they, themselves, don't view sex as an enjoyable activity, they are not that willing to put in the effort to please their partner either, and I, personally, don't see anything wrong with that because they don't expect you to reciprocate. This is the placement that gets the most along with other people who are also not that interested in sex. They are not selfish partners; it's just a matter of incompatibility. The indifference towards sex is seen more commonly in women who have this and you gotta understand that a lot of it comes from the different ways in which both genders are socialised.
Actions- cuddling and holding their partner close is more their jam, they might also like just lying down in bed naked but not doing anything, more like just....being in each others' presence, scents can be a huge turn on, dark lights, sensory deprivation
Mars in the 7th house: Its not really considered to be a positive placement but Imo, Its good for casual sex but not good for committed relationships. These people have an extremely high libido and will love having sex, experimenting with different positions, kinks, and....people. I find them to be a little exhausting to be around because they will constantly argue with you, not because they disagree with you but rather because it turns them on SO FUCKING MUCH. If you're into that, totally cool, you'll love these people. I, personally, get a fucking migraine. They will be the dominant ones in bed, no questions asked, they will demand, and you will have to obey. If you're not into that, don't be with them, as simple as that. The good thing is that they're very generous in bed, but I feel like it's more of an ego thing rather than a "care about my partner" thing, it's like, they want their partner to tell them "you are the best I have ever had". I have also noticed that these people have a tendency to engage in extra-marital affairs, but it also depends a lot on the individual's upbringing and their personal values and ethics.
Actions- Angry sex, pulling hair, biting HARD, choking, rough sex, breeding kink, and can be very much into threesomes, doggy style
Mars in the 8th house: Yeah....this is NOT good, Mars is already an aggressive planet, and then you add the 8th house to the mixture and you get someone who can be somewhat of a sex addict. It's more likely to happen if mars is afflicted by rahu or mercury, if it's being aspected by jupiter or moon, then it lowers that energy down. They might have started to masturbate quite early in life, and will love watching their partners pleasure themselves in front of them. They like sex that is dirty and messy. Men with this often engage in stealthing, from what I have seen, but it also has more to do with men being shitty in general rather than JUST this placement. They can be okayish partners in bed, will take care of their own pleasure first and then, if their partner asks, will pleasure them too and if not....they would rather just go to sleep. These people can also have the madonna-whore complex; it's like, they will engage in occasional vanilla sex with their spouse, but then express their taboo desires to only their side-pieces. They are actually not as open as people think they are, they like to give off a "clean" image.
Actions- Wax play, mirror sex, causing pleasurable pain, brat taming, and sex that makes you feel embarrassed afterwards (not the bad kind, more like a "omg, I can't believe I did THAT" kind), can orgasm VERY quickly (especially men)
Mars in the 9th house: This has got to be my favourite placement, with how responsible and mature these people are regarding sexual relationships. For them, sex is not something that motivates them to be in a relationship or maintain an already existing one. They're similar to this...another placement that I talked about, they don't love sex but they will do it if their partner wants to do it. But unlike 6th house, they will actually make an effort to understand and please their partner, and they would expect to be pleased in return too; it's not a "lying there" situation. They LIKE sex, but it's not a priority for them, and they're only able to truly enjoy sex once they form a deep emotional connection with their partner. All my friends with this are SO SHY when talking about sex, like there is one group of people that's like "they ate me out, moved around their tongue *graphic explanation* like that" and there is another group that is like "yeah....we did....stuff", mars in 9th house is the latter. They are great partners in bed, especially once they let their guard down (which takes TIME). Not the type to initiate stuff but if you do it, they're gonna PERFORM.
Actions- Vanilla sex, soft kisses, hands around your neck or waist, big on aftercare, would like their partner to guide them, they would LOVE it if you grab their thighs or like...just rub them in a seductive manner, lift them up by their thighs, kiss them on the inner part of their thighs
Mars in the 10th house: these people are really hardworking and that definitely spills over in sex as well. They'll be very conscious of their performance and that anxiety can actually sometimes end up turning them off, but that's rare. They'll look at their partner's face after every touch to understand whether they like it or not and then go by that. Men with this placement may watch a lot of porn and (WHICH I DO NOT SUPPORT), their understanding of sex may come from that. But from what I have noticed, they're usually willing to change if their partner is firm enough. If you stay silent, they're gonna keep on doing what THEY think you like. They're similar to mars in 7th in that they too want to be the "best" their partner has ever had. They get high on praise and love hearing their partners moan and grab their hair and stuff, basically anything that lets them know that you're enjoying whatever they're doing to you. Women with this are usually more mindful than men with this. Men can have a tendency to go HARD and rough when it comes to penetration. Have A LOT of stamina and can keep going all night long.....all day too.
Actions- positions where they are on the top, doing it in public spaces, doing it while standing against a wall, cowgirl, reverse cowgirl, HUGE on role-playing where they are in a position of power and you are someone who has no choice but to have sex with them (boss-employee, professor - student, police-thief)
Mars in the 11th house: these people try to act like they don't care about sex that much but in their mind, they've already had sex a lot of times. You know, the people who don't admit when they have a crush on someone but then at night they probably touch themselves while thinking of their crush, yeah that kind. It's pretty hard to figure out what they like in bed because they aren't that vocal about it. You may only come to know what they like once you actually sleep with them. When a woman has this, people might assume that she's asexual or very innocent and traditional when it comes to sex and they may act like that too, but when a man has this, he may act like he's not like other men, "other men are obsessed with only sex, but not me, I want something deeper" but dw, that's not true, it's all an attempt to seem mysterious. This placement is kind of confusing and the sign in which mars is in can give more of an idea about what these people like and expect in bed.
Actions- everything bdsm, like....using all the tools that were there in 50 shades of grey, specific kinks will HIGHLY depend on the sign in which mars is in.
Mars in the 12th house: this one acts similarly to mercury in 12th, but instead of their thoughts, it's their desires that are hidden and what they find difficult to express. These people don't understand their own sexuality at times. They may have some confusion as to what they TRULY want. If mars is strong in this house, they will be open to experimenting to find out what suits them the best. But if the mars is weak in this house, then it can either result in hypersexuality or a fear of sexual acts and sexual intimacy. They may also think that their kinks are "weird" or that they may never find someone to experience them with. I have noticed that their kinks are actually not that weird, it's more like their own fear stops them from fully expressing what they want. They can be somewhat selfish in bed but it's more because they get soo immersed in their "feelings" that they forget that there is a person with them who they also need to pay attention to. That selfishness is not a result of a malicious intent. Women with this can often have this guilty feeling in regards to sex; like they are wrong for wanting a certain kind of partner or for enjoying sex and stuff.
Actions- bondage, role playing, blindfolded sex, kissing and having quickies in dark and isolated spaces, stealing kisses in dark public spaces can be a huge turn on
In signs :
Mars in Aries- intense and frequent desire for sexual activity, usually enjoys sex
Mars in Taurus- they understand how to create a mutually pleasurable, safe, and fulfilling experience
Mars in Gemini- can have a low libido, may require a lot of time and foreplay to get aroused
Mars in cancer- a high libido but easy to please. Can get angry very easily but will quickly give in once you kiss them or...start touching them
Mars in Leo- can be somewhat selfish in bed and manipulate their partners to get what they want. High stamina.
Mars in Virgo- FREAKIEST mars sign, will be down for literally ANYTHING but has low stamina and gets exhausted very easily, needs rest between rounds
Mars in Libra- very passionate and believes in fair give and take during sex but will rarely initiate
Mars in Scorpio- likes role playing "forbidden love" tropes, foreplay is way more important than the actual act of having sex
Mars in Sagittarius- uses a lot of terms during sex....I can't give examples....it's making me cringe...my...dirty...slut.... something.... something, figure it out
Mars in Capricorn- hard to please when it comes to sex, lowkey selfish...depends on the other placements too
Mars in Aquarius- they're able to fulfill all their partner's expectations, can themselves be often disappointed with sex but their partners always leave satisfied
Mars in Pisces- known for having 2 families, act like they're very moral and ethical but then.....their actions say something else 👀
-your Mars sign can show what people may attack you for. Or what you may attack people for
-venus-ruled(taurus and Libra) mars means people may attack your level of attractiveness, style, leisure, or relationships. Mars-ruled(aries and scorpio) mars means people attack your body type, drive/passion, sexuality,or aggression. Mercury-ruled(Gemini and Virgo) mars mean people may attack your intellect, expression, vernacular, or siblings. Sun-ruled(Leo) mars mean people may attack your personality, identity, fatherhood. Moon-ruled(Cancer)mars means people may attack your feminity, moodiness, children, motherhood. Jupiter-ruled(sagittarius and pisces) mars means people may attack your luck, abundance. Saturn-ruled(Capricorn and Aquarius) mars means people may attack your leadership, accomplishments, or elders
-I notice that Cat yoni(Ashlesha and Punarvasu) may unconsciously leave their mouths open when processing information. Similar to The Flehman's response common in cats, when smelling scents
-people with Moon conjunct venus have a deep appreciation for femininity. They know beauty, when they see it
-I noticed that Ashlesha,Uttara Phalguni,Uttara ashada,Purva Ashada. Tend to have plunging inner eye corners. Which to me are very pretty feature
-people who share the same sign of Venus and one luminary(sun/moon/rising) can look very similar
-uttara bhadrapada is a part of the snake trope. Just as much as ashlesha, mrigashira, rohini.
-people with mercury in ketu nakshatras can be highly intuitive. They can see things way before they happen.
lowkey hate when non-hindus try to romanticise vedic placements that are considered to be negative, because there are stories behind it, there is meaning behind it, you can say "this is not bad, it's just misunderstood" all you want, but that is not going to change the WHY of it.
Saturn in 4th, Rahu/ Ketu conjunct Sun/Moon, Saturn conjunct Sun, these placements are not bad because people are jealous, or because they are misunderstood or some other bullshit reason;
Saturn HATES sun. In Hinduism, I won't tell the entire story, but sun did not treat saturn nicely, saturn is sun's son, it's like a pretty long story, but yeah, the sun later realises his mistake but saturn kinda...rejects the apology, so saturn is not sun's enemy but sun is saturn's enemy. Saturn conjunct sun in close degree is considered to be one of the worst placements in vedic astrology. It needs to be aspected by Jupiter to mellow down the negative impact.
Similarly, when a demon entered the gods' camp to drink the nectar of immortality, the sun and the moon god discovered the demon and reported him to lord vishnu, due to which the demon's head was severed, but he had already become immortal so the head became rahu and the body became ketu, that is why, when either is in conjunction with sun or moon, it takes its revenge.
The moon god wanted to marry saturn's sister, saturn was like, nope, you had a child without marriage, you are not a good guy. Moon god then kidnapped saturn's sister, saturn got rightfully pissed, he cursed the moon. So saturn does not do well when its in 4th house, or in conjunction with moon or aspecting it.
In vedic astrology, every placement, every nakshatra, every observation is related to a mythological story, you can't romanticise it or act like it's not bad based on your perception of it. All these stories have a lesson, if saturn is conjunct sun in 4th house, then you may have a painful family life, there may be disharmony in family, but you are not allowed to do anything about it, you are not allowed to be angry, you need to keep on working towards maintaining harmony or realising why those things needed to happen, similar to how the sun god did.
It became a really long post but yeah, it really annoys me when people see vedic astrology in isolation because it's inherently connected to Hinduism, you can't UNDERSTAND vedic if you have no knowledge of the stories that have led the planets to become as they are.
Saturn is not bad, but it feels weird when people romanticise it because it's not.....that simple. Saturn was abandoned by his own father, but saturn considers lord shiva to be his guide, lord shiva relies on tough love, that was saturn's upbringing, so now it does the same to others. It's a tough planet to get through, that's all I am going to say. Saturn is not misunderstood, it just IS.
This is even more true for nakshatras, but I am not even going to get into it.....that pisses me off on a whole different level.
Ketu in 1st -> You can look totally different in photos taken just months apart. You can know someone for months and they still forget your name or your entire presence. You are the type to let people choose your food, movie and plans bcoz you don't care.
Ketu in 2nd -> You are either a hoarder or a minimalist. When you get nervous or passionate, you lose your words, stutter, or use a lot of "like" and "um". Zero connection to rigid values in the family.
Ketu in 3rd -> If you have a sibling, you might live far apart, rarely speak, or just feel like total strangers OR they can be your adopted/step sibling. You are a great writer but can be a terrible verbal communicator. You can write a flawless email but stumble over your words in a live meeting. You may drop your phone constantly, have terrible handwriting, or struggle with fine motor skills because your hands can’t keep up with your brain.
Ketu in 4th -> You have to raise yourself. If you are moving home or making real changes in your life, you won't tell anyone until it's done. You're not that much into fancy home decor or anything. You'd rather sleep on a mattress on the floor. Vehicle issues due to poor maintenance. In some cases, these natives use their car/ bags/ home as a trash can.
Ketu in 5th -> You either don't want children at all, or you feel totally awkward interacting with them. Seriously be honest with me, you lose feelings the second a crush likes you back. The chase is fun, but the moment real romance or dating time happens, you get bored and emotionally detach. You are smart but terrible at standardized testing as your brain goes completely blank under academic pressure.
Ketu in 6th -> Food allergies and rare symptoms show up for you and mostly be diagnosed in your mid 20s or 30s. If someone picks fight with you, you stone-wall them, or treat them like a ghost. You love animals, either you are allergic to a pet animal or prefer strays and rescued pets.
Ketu in 7th -> You act as your partner's therapist, fix their life, and then they leave once they are healed. You can NOT date anyone for months/years and be totally fine being alone. In partnerships, people can take credit off of your work or the contract would end awkwardly. You either delay marriage until much later in life, or you marry someone completely out of the blue after knowing them for just a few weeks/months.
Ketu in 8th -> Sus of everyone. You are the one to survive freak accidents, close calls and such, walking away unharmed. You could be into true crime, bizarre documentaries, occult topics, etc. You can be so paranoid of what if bad things that happened to others happened to you.
Ketu in 9th -> You either grew up in a highly religious family or a cult like family values and walked away from it on your own. You are the type to drop out of college, change your major or work a job that has nothing to do with your degree. Relationship with your father can be absent or icy.
Ketu in 10th -> No matter how much you succeed in life, you may feel like a fraud or an imposter. You may even change your name or your appearance totally and don't want anyone to know your past. Your public reputation is totally distorted.
Ketu in 11th -> Be honest, every few months you will randomly block, unfollow, or completely cut ties with casual acquaintances or entire friend groups because you suddenly find them fake or exhausting. If you have older brothers or sisters, your relationship with them is likely icy, distant, or completely nonexistent. They can be adopted/stepsibling too in some cases. You live in two entirely different worlds and have nothing in common.
Ketu in 12th -> Night owls. This placement is what I call "cosmic loneliness" like you feel that you don't belong to this planet or born in wrong era. A hermit. You can have intense, hyper realistic or lucid dreams that makes you feel exhausting or lived another life overnight.
This particular interpretation was based on Energies of 27 Nakshatras by Ernst Wilhelm, which you can download for free here, and a link provided by my followers (thank you!) which you can find here. However, you can also find similar Sanskrit translations from other Astrologers, and the information sourced by me here is commonly available. The ebook I used is simply what I personally recommend due to its accurate translation and ease of access.
The purpose of this interpretation is to help people understand how the Sanskrit descriptions translate directly into the functioning of a given Nakshatra in human life.
According to the link above, Nakshatras are divided into 3 groups - animal, mineral and plant. Since there are 27 Nakshatras, there are 9 Nakshatras of each type, and they continue in this order on a loop. Each of them expresses its purpose relative to its type in a different way, creating unique combinations. That is described using traits such as sharp, fixed, swift etc, that I will elaborate on in the context of each Nakshatra.
Each Nakshatra ruler will determine the type of Nakshatra.
All Solar Nakshatras are animal.
All Lunar Nakshatras are mineral.
All Mars Nakshatras are plant.
All Rahu Nakshatras are animal.
All Jupiter Nakshatras are mineral.
All Saturn Nakshatras are plant.
All Mercury Nakshatras are animal.
All Ketu Nakshatras are mineral.
All Venus Nakshatras are plant.
To sum up:
Animal Nakshatras are Sun, Rahu and Mercury.
Mineral Nakshatras are Moon, Jupiter and Ketu.
Plant Nakshatras are Mars, Saturn and Venus.
What is the meaning of animal, mineral and plant?
Animal Nakshatras are simply social in nature. This refers to Aristotle's Homo Animal Sociale concept, which jokingly translates to "humans are social animals". Thus, this group of Nakshatras is interested in people's instinctive interpersonal, social behaviors and has various reactions in this setting.
Mineral Nakshatras are concerned with building and solid life upgrades. That doesn't mean they don't interact with people and they definitely don't all have high ambitions in a traditional, societal sense, but their chief interest is always solid growth and expansion relative to their point of origin, which means different things to each Nakshatra from this group.
Plant Nakshatras occupy themselves with cultivation, planting seeds and watching them grow. The difference between Mineral and Plant is that the plant stage relates more to constant maintenance and improvement rather than the act of building something brand new. Of course, that can have a traditional expression, but each Nakshatra is going to want to have a different approach towards how and what they're trying to grow and for what reason and where they're planting their seeds.
There are certain patterns of similarity and difference in between Nakshatra groups. All exception Nakshatras will be unique.
Solar Nakshatras except for Krittika are "Fixed and Firm Animal", meaning they lay down the law in social settings, they basically have a knack for being a social authority because of their dependable, steadfast nature mixed with sociability.
Moon, Jupiter, Saturn and Ketu Nakshatras are all different, meaning they will all have a different approach even if the Nakshatra planetary goal is the same.
Mars Nakshatras except for Dhanishta are "Soft and Friendly Plant", meaning they have a knack for gentle and friendly cultivation and projects that require finesse and precision, regardless of the area of expertise.
Rahu Nakshatras except for Ardra are "Moving and Unsteady Animal", meaning they have a propensity for constant social circulation and love of networking for the sake of human contact as the goal in itself.
Mercury Nakshatras except for Revati are "Sharp and Harsh Animal", meaning that they tend to be social critics, they're not aggressive but their judgment is brutal and they tend to be confrontational, with their goal being social confrontation specifically, they love to point out flaws and disarm their opponents in a social setting.
All Venus Nakshatras are "Cruel and Violent Plant", meaning they all achieve cultivation of their goals through cruel and violent means and they're not afraid to hurt even themselves for their results - Purva Phalguni reaps pleasures, Purva Ashadha reaps victories, Bharani reaps souls and other living things into the afterlife.
Remember, that planets in each Nakshatra in various houses will have different behaviors for each Lagna, and so will show interest in various areas of life and have a multitude of expressions.
The Vedic Descriptions all talk about each Nakshatra having a basis "above" and "below". "Below" refers to what is obvious to a human eye, what people can easily see in a Nakshatra. "Above" is the true spiritual nature of each Nakshatra, that produces the "Below" result as a physical manifestation.
As this is gonna be a very long post, full Nakshatra list under the cut.
Since Krittika is an animal Nakshatra, its interest lies in socialising and being among people. How will their presence be? "Delicately Sharp and Mixed", meaning that they will have a moderate level of severity socially, and various reactions to different situations, and they are capable of deploying different strategies in order to reach their goals, they have a certain strategic flexibility (a trait they share with Vishakha, as you will see further). But what is that goal and true nature of Krittika?
As Krittika is the first Nakshatra, it is the place of rebirth of the soul after the death and judgment we experienced in Bharani. Krittika is very much attached to this feeling of freshness, and thus its interest lies in spreading light socially among people, which of course can have many physical expressions, depending on one's life occupations. What the Vedas teach us, is that Krittika's magic lies in the fact that their light is genuine. People see them as light, because at this Nakshatra stage, a soul exudes genuine brightness and naturally circulates and shines among people, illuminating every environment it finds itself in. So Krittika's social nature is going to be simply interested in naturally spreading their light among people.
Agni desired, “May I be the eater of food for the Gods.” This quote is the reason, why Krittika Nakshatra is so commonly associated with cooking. However, not all Krittikas are gonna have a traditional cooking gift. The food of the Gods was also traditionally not plain human food but "nectar and ambrosia" - substances of sublime nature, with rejuvenating properties that granted Gods immortality. So what Krittika really does and desires is simply transmute divine nourishment into their radiating light.
As Rohini is a mineral Nakshatras, it is interested in growth and progress and advancement. Their Fixed and Firm nature shows their style of progress, as they stubbornly go towards their goals and projects with determination, even to the point of being inflexible. Their presence will thus come off as someone preoccupied by their long term goals and enclosed within that framework with admirable patience.
Since Rohini is a natural progression of Krittika, we can see what happened to the energy, how we moved on from overflowing, spreading light into a receptacle, a container of light. This pertains to Rohini's practical vibration and desire to "store" radiant cosmic energy and continuously wok with it in various ways. Their real nature, however, relates to apah or apas, the "blessed cosmic waters", which basically explains that Rohini is able to create containers full of light in the material, because they are astrally swimming in waters of the cosmic pond of creation, just like a baby is still swimming in their mother's womb. Thus, their practical interest through their mineral expression is continuous building within the "ponds of radiant waters", which makes others view them as an attractive resource.
Prajapati, the Lord of Creatures, created creatures but thus created they went away. Of them he thought about Rohini (his most beautiful, fertile creation). He desired, “May she approach me. May we unite together.” This shows, that Rohini has a desire for what they built to serve them. They want the "pools of light" that they created to shine for them, they want to merge with what they created and swim in the aforementioned "blessed cosmic waters" together with what they worked on. They want their internal glory to be reflected externally onto them in a union of their making, so they can experience the feeling of connection. Thus, Brahma's eternal quest and struggle with his ego and narcissism and suffering over his creations and creatures "going away".
Mrigashira is a plant Nakshatra, and will thus be concerned with tending and caring for energies, specifically in a soft and friendly manner. Thus, it will be interested in tending to things that require a gentle hand, giving it precision and accuracy. Mrigashira is also occupied with spreading its influence in a subtle fashion, that may go unnoticed at first, but ends up hitting the spot in just the right way.
Because of its basis below of weaving, what is noticed first about Mrigashira is its intricacy and capacity for understanding and performing with complexity. The Vedas teach us, that this skill comes from Mrigashira's basis above, its skill of diffusion, which means to look at something and be present in many places at once, linking and grasping many points of view at the same time, which allows them to form energetic connections that form a complete, well-formed tapestry. From their talent for complexity comes a variety of understanding and a form perfect in its detail.
Soma desired. “May I win the lordship of the plants.” Out of all the plant Nakshatras, this makes Mrigashira the true master of cultivation, which is linked to that aforementioned talent for perfect precision. In order to cultivate anything that grows, you have to know all of its quirks, understand its needs and be able to cater to them very specifically. Imagine, that you have a unique plant, that needs the right amount of watering with drops of a specific liquid at specific times of day to give you the desired result. Only a person, that can perform in the right way, will make that plant grow. Mrigashira's "cultivations" work for them, because the Mrigashira native has a broad, exact understanding on how to work on them first. They know how to set up each situation so that it gives expected results.
Ardra is an animal Nakshatra, and as such, it is concerned with social interactions. It is however described as "sharp and harsh", meaning that it will approach social matters in a critical way. What is more, Ardra is described in the context of its "destructive fire" and having "dual arms", meant to search for social elements due for destruction. I am so sorry to meme up this post, but I see this.
The basis below is "caustic", meaning that Ardra's first visible manifestation in the physical is simply pure destruction.
However, interestingly enough, Ardra's basis above is practical, grounded research, "deer" for research (Mrigashira's gift of insight from the previous stage) and "grain" (Rohini's gift for solidity and accumulating energy). Which means that in reality, Ardra's destructive quality is thought through and well founded and their rebellion has a solid spiritual foundation, and they are agitators with a serious cause. So what do we get as a result ? An angry activist, that is always looking for new flawed social dynamics to tear down and is prepared to do solid work and put in a lot of energy for that sake, since the usage of “grain” implies cultivation and something material, meaning that it likes to take social things, look at them sharply and then destroy them. And that’s exactly what Ardra is, a social critic, one that searches for weak points and then destroys them.
Rudra desired, “May I become the lord of the wild animals (Pashupati).” Again, animal is used in a social context, and it represents Ardra wanting to have influence over “wild people” meaning "fellow angry people" for the purpose of destruction. Meaning, that Ardra is interested in controlling the angry masses enough to give them purpose and have them join in on Ardra's activism. It shows the kind of people they’re interested in influencing, since the goal of Ardra is to raise or even sacrifice rebels for their causes. After all, the more "arms" you have to search and destroy, the more work you can do. This also gives chaotic, unformed human masses that Ardra deals with purpose and direction.
Punarvasu is a mineral Nakshatra, and will thus deal with solid growth and progress. The notable thing about Punarvasu is its energetic "status" after Ardra. The destruction of Ardra has left the world bare, and it is Punarvasu's job to rebuild it with something genuinely positive and restore hope for any meaning of existence beyond anger and criticism. Because the nature of Punarvasu is "Moving and Unsteady", it means that the growth will be continuous, as the earth is always in motion but not symmetrical, just like in nature some trees grow faster and taller than others, and rains ebb and flow.
Punarvasu's basis below is "moisture", which basially means they appear very abundant to the outside spectator. What it really translates to is readiness for creative fertility, just like damp soil is ready for plants to grow in it. However, its basis above is "wind", meaning that what actually brings about change in Punarvasu is that there are cosmic forces at play, that send the proverbial "winds of change" over its fertile, "moist" soil, and that these forces participate in Punarvasu's growth just as much as their readiness does, because these divine random currents are the one that bring them ideas and inspiration. Thus, the positive growth in this Nakshatra, even if unsteady, is not random, but an act of divine will, divine "luck", because without the wind, the breath of God, there would be no seed to bring about change in the fertile soil.
The Earth in the beginning had no growths. She desired, “May I produce herbs and trees.” Thus, Punarvasu's prayer is for the aforementioned Divine breath of wind, to give meaning to its fertile soil and make actual creativity possible. While Punarvasu looks outwardly simply fertile and creative, energetically it is guided by Divine inspiration, so the prayer here is an expression of readiness and openness for blessed Jupiterian ideas to be received. Punarvasu says "I am ready to not be angry and critical anymore, I want to bear fruit. Please bless me with Divine seed, so that I can make things grow".
Pushya is a plant Nakshatra, and thus concerned with cultivation. Since it's a Light and Swift Nakshatra, that cultivation is going to be a quick process. So we can generally call it a "Nakshatra that cultivates things easily", which is why it's literally called "auspicious and fortunate" by name, or more literally "the Auspiciousness of Jupiter".
It is that very auspiciousness, that gives Pushya its basis below, the one easily visible to everyone, which is "worshippers". Just like Ashwini has a talent for gathering an army for its cause, Pushya has a knack for gathering worshippers. You might think that is undue privilege at first glance, but the basis above explains the reason for Pushya's energetic functioning, which makes it so attractive. Pushya's basis above is that they are a worshipper themselves, and what is more they are an extreme kind of worshipper, one capable of ultimate sacrifices to the "flame of Agni". This shows, that Pushya's true nature is devotion to the point of obsession. In fact, they don't even necessarily gather worshippers for the sake of their own ego or strictly in their own name (for this, a Saturn ruled Nakshatra is too humble, if its well functioning), but for the sake of whatever it is that they worship themselves with unquestionable devotion. Their sense of self dissolves and melts into their passion with blind faith, and that authentic sense of inspiration grants them followers in turn.
To visualise this, imagine a priest during a religious ceremony. He doesn't pray for himself. He is an agent of prayer for any higher force of choice, and people that participate in worship with him do so not just because they believe in him, but because they believe in whatever deity the priest themselves is worshipping. People only believe in the priest, because they believe in his own belief in something higher, and trust him to guide them to that expanded energetic sensory experience.
Brihaspati desired, “May I possess the splendor of spiritual knowledge.” This shows, that Pushya's desire through communion with Higher Forces is to gain their awareness and understanding. Thus, they make the aforementioned physical sacrifices in their human life simply for the sake of illumination, which is something only the Divine can grant. Pushya has a very good understanding of the difference between logical facts, plain knowledge and true wisdom and while the human mind can learn facts, only the Divine can bless with the real gift of deep comprehension, which is why it's Pushya's eternal prayer.
Ashlesha is an animal Nakshatra and it will thus concern itself with social interactions. The description indicates that it will do so in a Sharp and Harsh way, meaning that it enjoys interactions that have a decided edge to it, just like Ashlesha is compared to "the serpent's embrace" (which is deadly after all).
I would literally translate the Ashlesha quote as "the Snake that chokes you with its embrace will attack you by approaching you indirectly and hypnotising you with its dancing motion". Normally, I would simply attribute this quote to Ashlesha's subtle behavior, but it is impossible to seperate Ashlesha's nature from its descriptor of "harsh and sharp".
What Ashlesha performs is essentially a hypnotic dance, which looks like a simple fluid motion from a "basis below". but is in fact an actual "indirect approach" from basis above. Which means, you won't even see them coming when an Ashlesha wants to attack you, but they always have an ulterior motive.
The Gods and the Demons were at war. The Gods made an offering to Ashlesha. This drove away the Demons. That is because, the prayer in Ashlesha is to be cunning enough to defeat one's enemies in a social group, and Ashlesha's serpentine, tricky ways are powerful enough to defeat even demons. Thus, Ashlesha's prime and chief goal is actually fighting difficult opponents and outsmarting them, sneaking their way into victory, which is where their paranoid and combative nature becomes useful.
Magha is a mineral Nakshatra, meaning it will look for solid advancement, and it will do so in a "cruel and violent" way. This violence in one's advancement and building may be explained by studying the basis above and below for this Nakshatra, both of which are connected to the concept of one's ancestors, a very strong theme in Magha.
When we look at the basis below, Magha can appear simply morbid in a physical sense with its description of "the fallen down, fail, corruption". The "fallen down" aspect is related to the worship of dead ancestors in Magha and their connection to their living descendants. However, if you look at the basis above, you can see that the true gift of the ancestors in Magha is "crying", where "Rudantah" is a derivative of "Rudra", the destructive deity of Ardra. So you literally get a karma of "someone, whose ancestors are crying over past actions, that have led to present-day failures for their descendants". Thus, the "cruelty" of Magha's progress is a reflection of that critical ancestral point, that they reached in a given incarnation, showing they will go very far for karmic settlement.
That paints a pretty interesting picture of Magha, showing that these natives are dealing with serious ancestral karma and receive all the support of their forefathers for the sole purpose of correcting their ancestors' past mistakes. Meaning, that the life of a Magha native is not entirely their own, it is a life that is connected to the constant awareness of the "regretful tears of their ancestors". The Magha native thus gets tasked with a difficult job of creating a life, that would make their ancestors happy, basing that sorely on correcting their ancestors' "destructive mistakes" by making better decisions in their own lives, and it is a painful awareness that they can never let go of, they can only soothe the pain by correcting what they were sent to correct.
The Fathers desired, “May we flourish in the world of the ancestors.” This further shows, that Magha natives are really incarnated here to fulfill the wishes of their ancestors, not just to make themselves happy on an egoic level. Thus, their desire is to feel success on the basis of a completely spiritual perspective coming from their ancestors. That means, they want to know that after death, their ancestors will welcome them, proud of all the work they have done in their incarnation. The accomplishment in the material only matters here for the purpose of spiritual satisfaction., even if it has a very practical dimension.
Purva Phalugni is a plant Nakshatra, meaning that its concerned with the cultivation process. That cultivation is however done in a "cruel and violent" way. The explanation for such a seeming contradiction is in the nature and interests of Purva Phalguni.
Purva Phalguni's basis below, and thus its most apparent earthly manifestation is "male" or a "male animal". Meaning, that this Nakshatra expresses a piercing, "cruel and violent" raw, instinctual masculine energy, regardless of the gender of the native. The fierceness is further explained by the adjective "reddish" meaning fertile, ready to "explode" with overflowing energy, passionate. Note, that while this can be sexual, it can also manifest itself as a general drive, also for creativity or ambition, meaning that these people pursue their passions ferociously to the point of violence. Their passions involve external objects or people, as underlined by the term "Companion" which again, can be romantic or sexual, but it could also be an external object of worship, a goal, a creative project, or a group of people. The "Purva" term is also a significator, that these people are interested in the thrill of early stages of any project or companionship, meaning that they are attracted to passions that seem "fresh", and the feeling of newness and excitement that accompanies novelty.
The interesting part about the basis above for this Nakshatra, which is "wife", essentially the feminine energy counterpart to the masculine energy present in this Nakshatra, is the game of polarity that Purva Phalguni plays with the Universe itself. Notice, that to this Nakshatra a natural companion is not one single person or entity, but the entirety of the feminine energy of the cosmos. That shows, that Purva Phalguni is involved in a constant, sensual game with higher forces, where feminine forces are drawn to them because of their masculinity, which in turn excites them and makes them even more virile, and that masculinity attracts even more feminine forces in turn. As a result, cosmic feminine forces can even compete with each other for energetic access to Purva Phalguni's opulent masculinity, and Purva Phalguni gets their pick of the most splendorous feminine form. Despite their extremely polarised masculine nature, due to Purva Phalguni's spiritual basis above they are actually extremely connected and understanding of feminine energies, which is why they can control and access them so easily and polarise themselves further and further for the sake of their own enjoyment of the feminine from the most extremely masculine perspective.
Bhaga desired, “May I partake of the best portion of the Gods.” This desire relates both to the extreme masculine polarity of Purva Phalguni, desiring access to the best feminine expression through either consumption or creation, but it also talks about this part of the Phalguni being "Purva", meaning the one excited by novelty. Think of this desire as a wish to take a bite out of an untouched fruit and not bother with the rest, and always taste constant freshness and opulence without worry for anything but that intense but fleeting thrill of a fulfilling experience.
Uttara Phalguni is an animal Nakshatra, meaning that it expresses itself through social interactions. It approaches these interactions with a "fixed and firm" nature, meaning that they are essentially a social authority that lays down solid, unquestionable law and their alliances have a very concrete form. In fact, Bhaga, the deity of Purva Phalguni, reappears here next to Aryaman in the Nakshatra sutra as "the Dispenser of Affection presiding over love and marriage", not just from a romantic standpoint, but from a practical, contractual standpoint. Thus, Uttara Phalguni's main occupation is cementing alliances.
As opposed to Purva Phalguni, Uttara Phalguni desires more than just a thrill of novelty and wants to instead build something lasting based on its passions, thus its interest in marriage, in contrast to fleeting pursuits of Purva Phalguni, like the act of continuously deflowering new beautiful women.
Uttara Phalguni might seem like one of the Nakshatras that gets extremely lucky due to their basis below of "flowing wishes", which is basically wish fulfillment. However, their true nature is expressed by a strong spiritual flow from above, ancestral blessings, that in turn give birth to the aforementioned wish fulfillment from below. What is really praised here in Uttara Phalguni is energetic steadiness, the "strong flow". Their energy is consistent, which tells us that they are truly spiritually committed to any partnership they enter. Their spiritual integrity thus reflects in a solid material flow regarding their goals and endeavours.
Aryaman desired, “May I become the lord of the animals (of my kind).” Uttara Phalguni natives seek colleagues and followers to help them in their causes, which are generally noble in nature. The resources they seek may express themselves either in people or material support. Aryaman governs over contracts, agreements, and availability of help and service. Uttara Phalguni's general desire is lordship in already influential circles, and that lordship is a reflection of their desire and ability to take responsibility for social issues and handle often difficult, wide scale practical matters that fall under their influence, making any power they have well deserved.
Hasta is a mineral Nakshatra, meaning it will occupy itself with practical building and growth. It is light and swift in nature, meaning that this growth and building will be fast and it will come easy. Hasta is described as possessing "the Divine Vivifying power of the Sun", which is precisely what gives this Nakshatra its almost magical ability for fast growth.
Hasta's basis below can look quite materialistic at first sight, as it is about them reaping rewards and gains, "acquisitions" if spoken of strictly in a business sense. However, Hasta's basis above is actually "delivery", meaning that they deliver things to others before they acquire anything. What do they deliver? "The Divine Vivifyng power of the Sun". So in simple terms, they gain because what they give is fresh and rejuvenating, they gain because they are useful, just like a good business owner is successful, because his product is good and useful to customers. Hasta has a gift for practical expression of spiritual generosity, which they turn into material avenues, that in turn bring them profits in their physical life.
Savitar desired, “May the Gods place their faith in me.” This is an acknowledgement from Hasta, that without the Divine Solar power of blessings present in this Nakshatra, they wouldn't be able to produce any practical results. Thus, their prayer is not for the physical, but for the Divine to trust them with energetic abundance, that they can then materialise into tangible results. Due to its "swift and light nature", Hasta understands that once the Divine Gate of blessings opens, once the energy is available, expressing it and gaining from that expression is merely a formality. Thus, having Divine favor also translates to having social favor among one's peers or even superiors, who in turn allow Hasta natives to have even more gains. On a simpler level, having the right connections, knowing the right path to the right opportunity, meeting the right person at the right time, can lead to fast and exponential growth, that even years of labor wouldn't be able to provide otherwise.
Chitra is a Plant Nakshatra, meaning that it is concerned with cultivation, and just like Mrigashira it is "soft and friendly", making it the second Nakshatra to possess a natural affinity for a high level of skillfulness and precision due to its delicacy.
The interesting element in Chitra is the mention of Indra, who is the king of the Gods and technically a deity of Jyeshta. Thus, Chitra is the king's "bright", the king's "excellent inventor". That can also have another manifestation, as "Indra" is a synonym for power and ambition. Thus, Chitra has a desire for their brilliance to put them at the top, they desire to conquer the world with their inventions, be recognised, have a title and be perceived as best and brightest.
Chitra's basis below is described as simply "truth", but what it really manifests as is painful honesty. This effect is achieved, because in a society that is largely based on social contracts and conformism, someone whose main physical manifestation is exposing the truth and speaking the truth against all social contracts, is going to become an instigator for conflict. Thus, Chitra's uncompromising confrontational basic nature leads to a lot of arguments, and shows how most people can't handle the truth about most things. Chitra also teaches us something important about creation through its basis below. The best works of art, the most important achievements have to be rooted in something real, that brutal "divine truth and perfection" that leads to honest precision, which in turn leads to external admiration of one's creations.
Interestingly enough, despite the chaos that they're causing, Chitra's behavior actually has a strong spiritual motivation, which is explained by the divine aspect of its nature. Chitra's basis above is translated as simply "right", but a better translation would be "righteous" or "proper". We can jokingly translate Chitra's credo to "I am always right so what I say is the truth". This identifies Chitra's deity as quite an intense one, that destroys all perceived falsehood, even if that would cause chaos, you can even call their deity a spiritual perfectionist. So the extreme spiritual nitpicky righteousness of the Chitra deity permits these natives to go to all lengths in order to uphold the divine standard of perfection, which makes them difficult socially but also makes them such masters at their chosen craft.
Twashtar desired, “May I gain a wonderful progeny.” "Progeny" doesn't have to mean just children, but also "creations". Chitra's desire is simply for everything they create to have a high level of excellence, because they want their desire for truth and clarity to express itself in the perfection of their work. From a metaphorical point of view, Chitra is very focused on the consequences of their actions and wants even the unexpected and shocking things they do to yield "wonderful results", epitomising the "crazy genius" archetype. Thus, they pray for a sort of "Divine Accident", for the random chaos they create to result in something genuinely marvelous. You can also translate their wish to "May my wonderful creations be a pure reflection of divine truth and devoid of any falsehood".
Swati is an animal Nakshatra, meaning that their main interest in life is social interaction. However, these interactions will be short-lived and more on the shallow side, since the nature of the Nakshatra is "moving and unsteady". This will give you an energy that does a lot of socialising with wide groups of people and gets a lot of surface level experience, but doesn't really focus on deep commitments.
Notice, how the word "Swati" doesn't even appear in the Nakshatra sutra but it is instead called "Vayor Nistya", which is translated to "foreign/strange things brought by the God of Wind". This is gonna be more on the humorous side, but I swear that this Nakshatra should be called "look what the wind blew in", and quite seriously, this phrase 100% describes Swati energy.
The basis below for this Nakshatra doesn't look very appealing, which is why Swati is the exaltation Nakshatra for Saturn, its first impression being described as "failure, imperfection and non-accomplishment". To put it bluntly, Swati natives have an unattached, scattered nature, which translates to struggling with long term goals, lack of interest in gradual, consistent building and a tendency to spend time on things that feel random and undirected, giving off the impression that their life "isn't going anywhere" and that they "have no ambition" in a traditional sense. However, their basis above reveals that one shouldn't take them for granted, as they have a natural spiritual affinity for "spreading and expansion", meaning that during any random activity they perform, they might just meet an influential persona that sets them up in life, and they also know how to make the right connections to get themselves where they want to be with as little effort as possible.
While they may not be typical high achievers, Swati natives are inherently flexible and opportunistic, not really caring for titles or finesse or even working hard on themselves, but somehow "accidentally" ending up in the right place, "stumbling into successful people" and having their needs met, even if they have to accept a more subservient role in that setting. They have an uncanny, light-hearted ability to "get by", because what really matters to them is experiencing not traditional success but the feeling of freedom.
Vayu, the Wind desired, “May I win the freedom to move as I wish in all the worlds.” This is an apt description of the nature of this Nakshatra, that prefers freedom of movement to stability and solidity. Thus, the "success" they ask for is the success of winning that freedom and independence, as they pray not to be "tied down" to anything that might narrow their possibility of movement or perspective of mobility.
Vishakha is a mineral Nakshatra, meaning it will be concerned with building and achievement. These achievements will be accomplished through the use of various "mixed" means with a slight exertion of pressure and aggression, the Nakshatra being described as "delicately sharp".
The mixed nature of Vishakha becomes even more obvious, when you read its descriptor of "dual", which shows that Vishakha is the one that coordinates the power of conquest from Indra and sacrificial flame from Agni and uses both of these methods to achieve its goals. Notice, how Indra and Agni work "in tandem", meaning Vishakha has the skill and power to reconcile and benefit from both of these forces. Vishakha itself means "branched", which is a testimony to Vishakha's flexibility and talent for "branching out" - looking for necessary elements and solutions in various places, a talent of mobility Vishakha capitalises on, gained in the previous stage of Swati.
Vishakha's basis below is simply "crops", which translates to reaping benefits, collecting abundance, harvesting substantial positivity, which is in line with this Nakshatra's Jupiter rulership. To the outside eye, Vishakha might easily appear lucky or as someone who gains a lot in life. However, Vishakha's basis above is "yokes", indicating that Vishakha's rewards are well deserved, because they come out of their ability to control and coordinate not only extremely powerful external forces, symbolised by Indra and Agni, but also themselves, to be able to control their incredibly expansive energy and channel it in productive ways. Vishakha is a master of taming and driving a chariot made out of cosmic power and chaos, and transmuting their vibration into something tangibly useful.
Indra and Agni desired, “May I gain the greatest splendor among the Gods.” The Gods wishes in Vishakha show why they agree to cooperate with this Nakshatra's energy. Technically, Gods are prideful beings and don't really submit to someone else's control...unless that someone else is a Vishakha native, and their actions bring honor even to the Gods themselves. That honor comes from a unique combination of Vishakha possessing both the external practical ability for achievement and sensitivity for spiritual awareness. Their internal, genuine faith in their heart inevitably wins the favor of higher forces. This also indicates a particular dynamic in Vishakha, where people cooperate with these natives or even submit to them, because they feel like the shine of Vishakha energy "falls on them", so they feel like they "win by associating themselves with a winner", thus allowing themselves to be held on the "yoke" of a Vishakha native.
Anuradha is a plant Nakshatra, and thus its interest lies in cultivation, and it is yet another example of finesse and gentleness as its nature is "soft and friendly". In fact, Anuradha's friendliness is its trademark, as its ruled by a deity Mitra, which literally translates to "the friend". Put together, we get a description of Anuradha as "the Friend who brings the gift of well being". Anuradha is thus classified as someone, who makes people feel instantly better with their presence and has a soothing influence on any social atmosphere.
Anuradha's basis below is "ascended to", meaning someone people look up to, someone people gather around, someone who appears fortunate in all their endeavours, not just socially. However, Anuradha's basis above is actually "ascending towards", meaning that it's the Anuradha native that is actually deeply devoted to people and causes they care about, also on a spiritual level. "If you want to have friends, be a friend". Anuradha understands this life principle, and even though life success is more of a byproduct of their genuine kindness, they still benefit from it.
Mitra desired, “May I be regarded as a friend in all the worlds.” Anuradha's kindness and devotion runs so deep, they genuinely want to be friendly with everyone. Saturn rulership makes them selfless and capable of self-sacrifice for the good of others. Such an attitude grants them loyalty from the people around them, as they witness real acts of commitment on Anuradha's behalf and they know that the Anuradha native can be genuinely counted upon, as they hold onto their close ones with heartwarming tenacity.
Jyeshta is an animal Nakshatra, meaning that it will focus on interactions with people, and these interactions will be of a "sharp and hard" nature. An interesting element in Jyestha's description is Jyeshta being called the "red growing" of Indra, or the Rohini of Indra. Such a connection between these deities explains why Rohini and Jyestha have been commonly paired together by Vedic Astrologers, as they literally share an energetic process. However, while Rohini practices growth for the sake of future cultivation and building itself, Jyestha "grows" for the purpose of conquest among people only.
Jyeshta is undoubtedly one of the most confrontational Nakshatras, and it is so in a way that is visibly obvious, first due to its social orientation, meaning that its confrontational socially among people, and second due to its basis below, which is "counterattacking". Meaning, that Jyeshta energy comes off as fundamentally defensive. However, Jyeshta's basis above explains, that its true spiritual desire is not just defense but simply "attacking", all for the purpose of conquest. This has a logical explanation, because the best way to assure a certain social position and victory is to be on the defensive before anyone even dares to approach you. Thus, Jyeshta repels a lot of attackers with their attitude simply to be efficient in its conquest, so that no one dares question their position. Make no mistake, however, behind this attitude, there is a solid strategy of constant attacks on their way to perceived victory, as you can see Jyeshta being motivated in this area down to their spiritual foundation.
Indra desired, “May I gain supremacy among the gods.” Indra's prayer for the gods confirms the tactic behind Jyeshta's behavior. Their sole desire and intention is to gain "supremacy". They look for a position in two ways. First, they look for seniority from a spiritual standpoint. They believe, that their constant, relentless effort builds character and thus earns them spiritual favor through the constant penance they inflict upon themselves, rejecting all notion of inner peace and instead focusing on mercilessly attacking their target. Second, they want to dominate not over the weak, but over their peers on Earth, in a material sense, which is why they want to be in a social settings for the purpose of constantly "attacking while being among people" and establishing themselves as the dominant presence. They have a desire to battle someone, that they perceive as their equal, and to come out victorious in order to prove themselves as superior to a worthy opponent, as they believe that "attacking" truly reveals a person's character and spiritual strength, and their desire is to measure and grow their own strength in turn.
Mula is a mineral Nakshatra, meaning that it will focus on growth and expansion. That expansion will happen in a "sharp and harsh way", indicating a steady, but relentless building process involving mercilessly destroying obstacles in one's way.
The Goddess of Mula is Nirriti, the Goddess of dissolution and destruction. This name has two meanings contained within it, that are linked to Nirriti being described as " the without motion". One is a philosophical statement, that the things the Universe is going to eliminate are the ones that "don't move" = don't change, don't want to outgrow their ways, even if they're mistaken. The other meaning is that the Mula native itself is "without motion" in such a way, that they are unwavering and there is no negotiating with them, and that they have an ability to wait for the perfect time to strike. Essentially, Mula’s goal is to aggressively increase one’s position, use sharpness to have specific, concrete advancements. But what is interesting in Mula's description is where the Universe tends to send them.
Mula’s basis above is fracturing, and the breaking into pieces is what we see from below. Basis below is what is most obvious to people in the manifestation of any Nakshatra. But it’s the basis above, that is the divine reality of the Nakshatra. And the fascinating part is that the basis above in Mula is already fracturing. Which means that the Universe sends Mula natives, to dismantle something that is already not working. That’s how they advance their position, by making something concrete out of destroying outdated energetic forms, that have spiritually already been “marked for deletion”. As such, Mula natives are cosmic agents, sent to perform these often difficult tasks of eliminating decaying energies and rewarded with personal progress as a result. The quote can be translated as "Niritti uproots/destroys by fracturing energies on a spiritual level and then physically breaking them into pieces". This is further confirmation, that whatever physical destruction occurred through a Mula native had a weak spiritual foundation to begin with and was thus targeted and astrally crushed by Niritti.
Prajapati desired, “May I find the root of progeny.” Sources cite that quote as proof of connection between Mula and the Universe's Galactic Center, finding the Root of all Universal creation for the sake of channeling creativity. But that quote appeals to more than just a creative ability, and expresses Mula's desire to see the holes in the fabric of their karmic ancestral line, and finding "the root of the issues of progeny by looking at their ancestors". After all, as a cosmic agent of Universal cleanup, Mula must get to the root of any problem, just like an exterminator needs to find a nest during the pest cleaning process to really eliminate the contamination. Mula's destruction is meant to be sharp, but purposeful. So Mula's desire and prayer expresses its understanding of the necessity of solving any problem at its core and asking the Universe for help in identifying that source directly.
Purva Ashadha is a plant Nakshatra, meaning that it's concerned with cultivation, and like other Venus Nakshatras it is also "cruel and violent". The characteristic element of this Nakshatra is the use of the term "The Waters", meaning the plentiful cosmic waters of abundance. Just like the other "Purva" Nakshatras, Purva Ashadha enjoys the first thrill of the experience over and over again, here the experience being "victories". This gives us a portrait of a native, who enjoys a process of repetitive conquests of the cosmic waters of abundance, a continuous string of wins, but doesn't yet focus on securing their position. The "cosmic waters" here represent the object of the battle, what the "victories" are needed for - control of these cosmic waters.
The basis above and below describe how the battle takes place in this Nakshatra. The basis below simply reflects the physical state of people "assembling in conflict to do battle", but energetically the basis above is simply "vigor". This is an interesting statement, that shows that whenever more than one strong personality is present, there will be a conflict or a power struggle, simply because spiritually they both have so much "vigorous energy" that they want to be the ones to access the most beautiful manifestations of Universal energies. Excess energy simply must find release, and a battle is nothing but a result of this energetic excess. It is also a statement about the nature of the "cosmic waters", that whenever something beautiful appears in this world, there is a competition out there among people who want to have access to these abundant energies, and Purva Ashadha understands it very well, so it makes sure to be the first one to conquer its object of desire. On the other hand, this is also a complement to the Purva Ashadha native, that they win victories in battle on the material plane simply because their soul itself has so much "vigour" it subdues any opponents that may come at them, and that vigour grants them rightful victory over weaker opponents.
The Water Goddesses (Apo Devi) desired, “May we at our wish gain the sea.” "The sea" in this context means "abundant cosmic waters", meaning that this Nakshatra's desire is to gain access to whatever they wish as part of cosmic life abundance. This also relates to their desire for constantly winning battles for that abundance, meaning they have a desire to "at wish" have the appropriate victory in order to gain access to the very precious sea of cosmic waters, that everyone wants. Essentially, they want to keep gaining control over prosperous energies to do with them as they please.
Uttara Ashadha is an animal Nakshatra, meaning that it's socially oriented, and it has an authoritative streak in that social nature due to it being "fixed and firm". An interesting thing about the Uttara Ashadha sutra is that it's literally a recipe for how to achieve a victory, that can never be lost and place oneself on top of society. Like all the other Uttara Nakshatras, Uttara Ashadha is concerned with well founded things after the first thrill of Purva Ashadha has passed. Thus, Uttara Ashadha's goal is cementing any victory they might have into something lasting in order to permanently improve one's position and not have to constantly fight battles for access to important energies, like Purva Ashadha had to. Thus, instead of simply cultivating short-term victories, Uttara Ashadha builds long-term alliances among the right people to establish a permanent social position among "The Divine Lords", or in a human context, people they view as influential relative to their life situation.
The basis below for Uttara Ashadha is talking about their state of accomplishment, described as "complete victory", which essentially talks about how these native's karma is to live in a secured life position, one way or another, sooner or later. No matter what social circumstances they come from, they will meet the right people and be put in the right place in life in order for them to be settled. In a way, these natives can be superficially viewed as "untouchable". The basis above, however, shows us the spiritual reason for such a state, or even privileged birth for the native. It is described as "superiorly conquering", but another sanskrit translation gives us "to claim one's birthright". Meaning, Uttara Ashadha has a spiritual and divine favor to be placed in certain privileged situations in life, and thus they will inevitably end up where their "birthright" leads them.
The Universal Gods (Vishve Deva) desired, “May we win a victory that can never be lost.” Probably the most self explanatory wish, going together with the rest of the Nakshatra sutra, Uttara Ashadha's prayer is not just for a quick win, but a long term accomplishment. If Purva Ashadha knows how to win a battle, Uttara Ashadha wants to win the war and know no one will dare challenge them again. As Uttara Ashadha's animal nature indicates, this is done not simply by challenging everyone on your own, since this can only get you so far, but by cementing valuable alliances. These connections have to be broad and advanced enough for these natives to be able to settle into their position once and for all, and the Universe promises them that as their karmic gift.
Shravana is a mineral Nakshatra, and thus it is concerned with progress and cultivation, which will be "moving and unsteady", so constant but irregular. That is relevant to Shravana's Moon rulership, which shows that the growth will be simply ebbing and flowing, just like the lunar vibrations affect tidal waves. This is an indication, that Shravana natives are extremely connected to and aware of these natural cycles.
Shravana natives are linked to one of the main deities in Vedic tradition, Vishnu, "the all pervasive", but interestingly enough they are called his "cripples", as if it's a title of honor for someone chosen by Vishnu himself. However, another Sanskrit translation interprets "Srona" as "matured" and also has to do with a verb related do "accumulation". Thus, it is meant to be a title of honor, "a wise, matured crone, who accumulated a lot of wisdom". This indicates, that Shravana natives can show maturity, understanding and creativity beyond their years, even if they're not career oriented in a traditional sense.
The basis above and below explains clearly the source of Shravana's wisdom. The basis below is translated as "paths" or "pathways". This is why people see Shravanas as someone they can come to for advice, as they appear to have answers, or see solutions, "pathways" out of any problem. Since they have blessings of Vishnu, they simply have a psychic ability to understand the very cosmic pathways of the Universe itself. Curiously enough, they're basis above is "inquiring ideas". That means, on a spiritual level these people simply possess a natural curiosity and intelligence to ask the right question and they have enough wisdom to ask for the right information. Anyone, who has ever found an answer to anything, has asked a question first. Thus, Shravanas are shown to have a lot of experiential spiritual understanding, as they walk around the world with a childlike level of curiosity, wonder and sensitivity, which teaches them a lot. By the time they reach older age, they have accumulated so much understanding, they become the source of wisdom for others. The basis above also shows, that Vishnu rewards Shravana with truthful spiritual answers, because they have correct instincts to ask him for the right things, meaningful things. Instead of money or fame, Shravana prays for understanding deep from their heart, and Vishnu rewards their interest by making them vessels for his wisdom.
Vishnu desired, “May I hear people say good words about me. May I not suffer any bad reputation.” Shravana's gift for asking important and precise questions and providing deep answers is rooted deeply in spiritual truth. Yet, as we previously explored in Chitra, many people are afraid of truth. Thus, any truthsayer will suffer social scrutiny. Shravana's prayer is for the spiritual truths they preach to not make them disliked by people, since after all the wisdom they share is for them. They pray not to be badmouthed by the very society they're trying to help, just because what they say may be uncomfortably real, because if people think badly of them, no one will listen to the answers, that they have the ability to provide. Shravana natives also possess deep emotional sensitivity to external reactions, and that sensitivity is a source of their psychic wisdom, but it also makes bearing with "bad reputation" that much harder on them. Thus, they pray for minimising of suffering, so that they can nurture their sensitivity and keep on using it for a good cause.
Dhanishta is a plant Nakshatra, meaning that it's concerned with cultivation, and that cultivation will be performed in "moving and unsteady ways", indicating an ability to fluidly manage their goals and projects at will.
Dhanishta's flexibility can be explained by their association with the "Vasus", otherwise called "The Excellent Ones", who represent primal physical forces on Earth, raw, natural, elemental power. The Vedas call Dhanishta, or as the Sutra calls them, "Shravishta", "the most famous" among these divine elements on Earth, meaning that they authentically possess understanding of the most precious, organic, natural form and their whole self responds instinctively and conveys divine elemental power with their whole being. This Nakshatra bridges the gap between Divine and physical, capitalising on the magical spark present in all physical forces on Earth for the sake of enjoyment of life.
Due to such powerful understanding of both deeper and more materialistic aspects of the Universe, it is no wonder, that Dhanishta's basis below is simply "Thriving". To put it simply, to a human eye, a Dhanishta native may appear as the one that "has everything". What is much more interesting is Dhanishta's basis above, which has a lot to say about the reasons for such intense blessings for these natives. The most literal translation used is "past", meaning that Dhanishtas possess a very solid backing of ancestral blessings, both spiritual directly from the pevious Shravana stage, and a solid physical backing from the Uttara Ashadha stage. To put it bluntly, Dhanishtas are tasked with appreciation and emulation and sharing of blessings, that have been given to them by their past, which could be visible strongly even just through their parental figures. However, the word "bhuta" can have other meanings, very relevant in Dhanishta's context. One of these meaningful translations is "ghosts", "a ghost of a deceased person" or "spirits", meaning that Dhanishta is literally connected to and presided over by passed on ancestors and loved ones that want them to enjoy themselves in this human life and spread the collective joy of the family lineage. Similarily, another translation for "bhuta" is simply "well-being", "prosperity" and "welfare", indicating that Dhanishta's get to enjoy their life, because it is literally a spiritual skill of appreciation, while other people of a more bitter nature might not be as appreciative of natural abundance of human life.
The Vasus desired, “May we revolve around the summit of the Gods.” This is a desire, that shows Dhanishta's craving for status. After all, only the VIPs are allowed to gather around "the summit of the Gods", which means Dhanishta wants to simply live life in an elevated position among their peers. The spiritual penchant here shows, that these natives crave both association with higher energies on a deeper level, and a higher level of life on the material plane, in order to experience the most sublime quality of life in human form.
Shatabhisha is an animal Nakshatra, meaning it will be circulating among people, and that circulation is executed in a "moving and unsteady" way, making them "social hoppers", always navigating between people in a chaotic fashion.
Just like Chitra, Shatabhisha is yet another Nakshatra shown to stand beside Indra, as they are named his "100 cures", meaning they are the king's personal alchemical advisor/magician, who works behind the scenes. This can also be interpreted as "the one who gains power and prominence through their 100 cures", as Indra indicates a desire for power, someone wanting to be known for their ability to provide many solutions, often to difficult situations.
Shatabhisha's basis below is interesting, as it is simply translated to "All Earth". In simpler terms, it is somebody that has access to knowledge of all human affairs. In fact, another translation for this same line is "one that has eyes everywhere", "one whose powers can go anywhere". On the physical, Shatabhisha simply manifests as one having an wide reaching network. Its basis above, however, is deeper, as it translates to "all expanse", meaning "embracing or absorbing all things". In simpler terms, Shatabhisha natives are blessed with an extremely far reaching physical network, that works for them, because they have a spiritual capacity to manage it and absorb it. Their very spiritual nature is capable of processing an extreme amount of details about a multitude of situations, their minds are extremely flexible, they hold a huge energetic space, and thus, they have the strength to carry a heavy load of an extreme number of social connections and information. Their power is given to them, simply because they are able to handle something very difficult and complex.
Varuna desired, “May I be firm and not unsteady.” That is a pretty ironic statement, coming from a Nakshatra whose very nature is "moving and unsteady", but it reflects Shatabhisha's desire to transform its own human smallness and give all of their brilliance a tangible goal, form and direction. With such a broad mind, 'having eyes in 100 places', there can be a tendency to be scattered, and Shatabhisha's prayer is to remedy that in order for their efforts and brilliance to become meaningful and substantial. There is no point in seeing everything, if your vision is constant chaos, and certain "firmness" is necessary for all the information Shatabhisha holds to keep together, enough so that they can converge it into any meaningful conclusion. "Firmness" also translates to a prayer for mental and physical strength and clarity, so that one can hold, carry and navigate such a load of information, as it is necessary for one's goals.
Purva Bhadrapada is a mineral Nakshatra, meaning it will seek tangible results and opportunities for growth. It does so in a "cruel and violent" way, meaning that it will pretty much go to all lengths to achieve its goals.
An interesting thing about this description is the mention of the Purva Bhadrapada deity, that is called "the Goat", an image that is strongly resonant with satanic symbolism. Traditionally, Purva Bhadrapada is associated with a deity called simply Aja Ekapada, but in this description they are all the same, the deity having another name of "The Unborn", meaning the immortal aspect of our soul, that hasn't yet been "born" into an incarnation, all of these energies simply making part of an aspect of Shiva.
Like we already explored in previous Nakshatras, "purva" relates to an early enjoyment of a conquest, a yet ungrounded process, the bliss of the first thrill. In Purva Bhadrapada, that is reinforced, the Nakshatra talking about "earlier feet of the stool", which can be translated to "the thrill of achievement after aggressively taking the first step into power and conquest" So we can see a process here of the aspect of Shiva described above being the one to assist these natives with their first firm step into ascension, but it is a power, that is not yet fully grounded, because these people enjoy the first thrill of social and spiritual conquest more than the mature, grounded expression of expansion. Still, it is a necessary step forward in the evolutionary process.
The basis below of this Nakshatra quite simply describes their gift for attracting attention and adulation of the masses, or simply in a group setting, as they are dubbed "collective gods", meaning that these people are automatically perceived by people as something greater than others, greater than the rest of humanity, which is what puts them in the spotlight in social settings so easily. However, their basis above shows their true colors, as it is described as "common to all humans", meaning, spiritually they are just like everybody else. Yet, the basis above does show a certain level of mastery, which points to the fact that Purva Bhadrapada achieves "superhuman" status in the physical precisely because of their deep spiritual awareness of things "common to all humans", the gift of the previous stage of Shatabhisha. That means, they can successfully manipulate mass consciousness to their advantage, because they know and understand what a common person wants, which helps them cultivate a very powerful image, and that in turn raises them to a superhuman status among fellow humans.
Aja Ekapat desired, “May I gain the radiance and the splendor of spiritual knowledge.” Despite their mastery of all human affairs, Purva Bhadrapada's true desire is for their power to be a reflection of spiritual mastery, and that is the only thing that gives them real fulfillment. After a while, even social high status is not enough for them without true depth of spiritual power. That is because Purva Bhadrapada already has spiritual awareness of all things human and superficial, so they crave to achieve something even higher, something beyond the mundane zone of their expertise, the "radiance and splendor of spiritual knowledge", as they feel this would justify their elevated social position on a deeper level and truly ascend them to godhood. This is both their trump card and their fall, as their desire for superhuman status can lead them to immoral actions, that they feel perfectly justified in.
Uttara Bhadrapada is a plant Nakshatra, meaning its interest lies in cultivation, and that cultivation is performed in a "fixed and firm" way, reflecting the time consuming but relentless nature of Uttara Bhadrapda's efforts. Just like Aja Ekapada was assisting with the first part of the process of ascension in the previous Bhadrapada Nakshatra, the "Serpent at the Deep" (base, or bottom, basically a sea serpent at the bottom of an ocean) is now guiding Uttara Bhadrapada on their way to cementing that very spiritual ascension.
Uttara Bhadrapada teaches us, how the blessings that we asked for so fervently in the previous stage of Purva Bhadrapada are actually obtained - you can't just complete a whole process of enlightenment in one fell swoop. It must be a path that you are committed to every day, because the initial spark from Purva Bhadrapada must be fanned into a flame through long-term consistency. Even the highest stages of spiritual ascension are earned, not given freely to be trifled with, as irresponsible use of high level energies leads to harmful, disastrous results, a lesson Purva Bhadrapada is well aware of. Thus, Uttara Bhadrapada is putting all of their work into being spiritually deserving, knowing that will ultimately reflect in their physical life. The ruling deity here is deeply metaphorical with its location at the bottom of the deepest ocean, which really translates to Utara Bhadrapada's desire for understanding of true emotional and spiritual depth of life. Such a process takes time, which is perfectly reflected in the description of this Nakshatra's basis above, described as "sprinkling", meaning that the Divine "doses" their spiritual blessings and ascension from above, and it is Uttara Bhadrapada's job to "press out juice" from these upgrades as their basis below, meaning they have a gift to achieve a lot of fruitful results even with very little given to them. The description of this Nakshatra really gives you appreciation for how much hard work, emotionally and spiritually, lies behind any abundance they receive.
Ahir Budhnya desired, “May I find a firm foundation.” This is a confirmation of the underlying theme of this Nakshatra, the awareness that receiving Divine blessings and splendor, which Purva Bhadrapada prayed for, is less important than building your own character. Uttara Bhadrapada understands, that being the blessing for yourself and others is more important than receiving blessings externally, and so they pray for a solid character and a "firm spiritual foundation". With building such a foundation, external achievement based on gut and real skill will inevitably follow.
Revati is an animal Nakshatra, and will thus be socially oriented, and will express that direction in a “soft and friendly way”, which points to the inherent benevolence in interaction style present in these natives. This Nakshatra is called “The Nourisher” for a reason, as a representation of its interpersonal drive and unconditionally gentle ways.
In fact, Revati natives are so unconditionally pleasant and soothing to be around, that they are also described as the “wealthy ones”, which goes beyond just status and financial wealth, but instead indicates energetic abundance, that can express in a variety of ways. Revati’s “soft” attitude is in fact so pronounced, it attracts them towards interactions with the underprivileged, as these are the social interactions that need their kindness the most. That humanitarian edge comes from their ability to understand and tolerate a lot of negativity and their desire to bless people’s suffering with their “softness”. In turn, people are loyal to them and flock to them, because they feel protected around their socially oriented, kind aura.
This is perfectly described in Revati’s basis above and below. The basis below is “the calf”, meaning an innocent creature, that has constant access to mother’s milk and is essentially nourished and protected. However, Revati’s basis above is “the cow”, meaning that they are actually a channel for nourishing forces themselves on a spiritual level. Their cosmic abundance gives protection to both them and the ones in need of their help, and their energetic generosity is so strong, they are an unconditional giver even when they appear to be in a sheltered position.
Pushan desired, “May I become the lord of the (common) animals (that need herding) .” This has a positive “controlling” edge and expresses Revati’s desire to work among the common and the needy and to have a solid influence among them, and steer them in the direction they need. While Uttara Phalguni looked for equals in a partnership and Ardra focused itself on angry mobs, Revati likes to direct those, that can’t direct themselves - thus, their passion for working with the underprivileged.
Ashwini is a mineral Nakshatra, and as such it will be interested in building, progress and advancement. Since it is described as Light and Swift, we get an energy, that easily progresses socially/gets status/gets promoted/gets power. The description of "two harnessed horses" gives us an image of a man directing a horse buggy and controlling the horses that drive the carriage with perfect command.
As a result of all of these blessings, Ashwini's basis from below, easily visible to everyone, is an "army". What is an army? It is essentially a group of loyal people, willing to do anything for your cause with unquestionable devotion. It's people who believe in your goals, your vision and believe in you to direct them to the designated place, because they think you will measurably get them there. They believe in your capacity to make a realistic, positive impact. And all those blessings are granted to Ashwini due to their basis above, which is "community". Simply put, on a spiritual level, Ashwini energy is an expert at working with people and among people. It knows how to make people come together and connect them. As a result, they get such a high level of devotion from people, even to a fanatic point, because they give people a feeling of belonging and inspiration, which makes them feel like they're part of something greater.
The Ashwins desired, “May we be possessed of good hearing and not be deaf. “ This is important in the communal context and shows how Ashwini people are so effective at community building. It happens simply because they are good at picking up on everything that happens among people, they know how to listen to people's causes and desires, or simply just to make them feel better by making them feel heard. This draws people towards them, and over time they become a community centered around the Ashwini native, because people listen to you and believe in you only when you listen to them. No one would listen to a "deaf" leader. Listening to a broad range of people also increases a person's general intelligence, know-how and competence, and any community leader should have something substantial in their character to back up their power.
Bharani as a plant Nakshatra is yet again concerned with maintenance and cultivation. The interesting contrast is that this care is done in a "cruel and violent" manner, meaning that Bharani is interested in aspects of cultivation that require a certain violence to produce results. Not all tasks are accomplished with gentleness even in traditional plant cultivation, since you can't eliminate pest, for example, by being gentle with it, and a certain mercilessness is required here for the sake of effectiveness. Eliminating certain bad habits for the purpose of one's psychological growth is also necessary and requires a particular severity of judgment. Restriction can be loving under certain conditions.
We can see in Bharani a certain contrast to Rohini, where in Rohini we were dealing with "creative waters", and in Bharani we are dealing with "cosmic waters that take away", just like the Mythical ancient river of Styx, that separated life from the Underworld.
The interesting contrast between the basis above and the basis below in this Nakshatra is that while they both talk of something being carried away, from the perception of the viewer in the Earthly realm (as in, from the perspective of the land of the living), the basis below talks about loss of something being taken away from us. However, the basis above talks about things being "drawn away" by the "Restrainer" aka Yama, the God of Death. Thus, this Nakshatra teaches us understanding that death, endings and things being taken away from us are acts of Divine Will, cosmic limitations that come to this Earthly realm as a gift of a higher perspective, that decides for us when it is time for something to be killed, so that it can be born in a newer, better form.
Yama desired, “May I win the lordship of the ancestors.” This is commonly interpreted as these people desiring a certain status among humans, but that is only on the surface. In reality, Bharani natives have the instinctual understanding, that things being given to and taken from human beings are all acts of the Divine, so they appeal to their ancestors to grant them supremacy, knowing that what the higher ancestral forces grant cannot be taken away by any mortal forces, so winning the favor of the Divine is always more powerful than human networking, even in the material world.
“Feminine/Masculine” planet stereotypes vs actual nakshatra behaviour
There has been an oversimplification where people assume that is if a nakshatra is associated with a “feminine” planet that it automatically constitutes to feminine behaviour. This has a level of truth but can often be misleading
Obviously planet associations aren’t everything, this is just a general overview
Venus nakshatra women are “masculine” in the sense that they have a naturally dominant presence, and operate from a place of their own personal desires which are often erotic or indulgent in nature. Being desire-oriented is conventionally a masculine trait. Sapphic Venus nakshatra women are often tops
This is also why Venus nakshatra men are often the idealised generous romantic men.
That is if they’re not in their mothers basement suffering from a pornography addiction
Venus nakshatras have an idea of what is the best, and then they confidently pursue that desire so that they can be close to or even own it. They love the persuit and the act of desiring the most
Their “masculinity” (provider mentality, romanticism) is their way of attracting feminine beauty/divinity/indulgence. They’re very yang like that.
^This has a particular relevance to Purva Phalguni but relates to all Venus nakshatras because they all have a level of deep lust to them
Sun nakshatra women can be similarly “masculine” is the sense that they are straightforward and uncompromising. They are also quite “feminine” in that they wait for others to pursue them. Their solar nature leads to them attract a lot of leeches if you will. For women this will mostly be men, and the specific way they respond to that depends, it usually results in setting boundaries in some way.
Uttara Phalguni in particular likes to look at relationships through a practical and contractual lense. Uttara Ashadha has the lowest desire for romance out of all nakshatras (no yoni consort) so it’s also easy for them to be “loveless” about how they approach their relationships. Krittika is on a similar wave to UP, but while UP is more about pleasure, Krittika is more about the actual act of criticising or discerning
They end up in one of 3 categories:
1. Androgynous presenting and/or very critical of male centred behaviour and social dynamics (least common). Are otherwise passionate about the dignity and integrity of women
2. The “high value man” crowd. The women who write about how the correct man should behave and how women should act to attract them. They still perform femininity. Wizard Liz (Krittika sun) is a prime example of this.
3. The Sydney Sweeneys (UA moon, UP sun) of the world who are just straight up living for the male gaze. They find great joy and validation in the attention they attract, and will go to great lengths to shine as much as possible ☀️
Type 2&3 both perform a very male-gaze friendly type of femininity. They both subscribe to the idea of a woman being a shiny reward that a man acquires.
The underlying similarity between all 3 is the desire to have others feed off the remains of their solar light (ie. bask in their presence). It’s just that many are wary of the way that this turns into parasitism.
When combined with any mercury nakshatra this adds to the paranoia surrounding being betrayed by other people, so they’re more likely to be 1 & 2. Ashlesha and Revati are the biggest birds amongst all genders- perhaps a discussion for another time
