WHY CONSCIOUSNESS - In philosophy, it was once believed Consciousness was enough to make you a person. In Psychology, it is proof that one is alive & within one's body. It is believed to be the reason behind all movement & reason.

WHY CONCERN - Consciousness wouldn't be enough reason to keep him around, after the others were created. Now he exists to ensure that nothing goes wrong. He is concerned with the issues going on within and without.
