((second character, kinda recreated my once female cheshire and made  anew account. I love Duncan! I just need a character to balance out his gentleman and angsty-ness. So really crazy Cat it is ID ))
The Mad Man and the Wingless Crow || justasmadasahatter
He stopped for a second before slowly turning to face Duncan, tipping his head up and tilting it a bit to the side. âNot naive, no. Neither am I leading you into a trap. But you wished for a lake, did you not? For water to wipe away that blood upon your body. Then I shall guide you to a water source.â he replied simply, raising an eyebrow. âAnd donât deem me harmless just because I am the Mad Hatter, I assure you I know how to fight! I just donât do it a lot. Iâd rather not fight. I donât consider myself a fighter.â he replied simply, waving his hand a bit in the air.
Though it didnât take away the fact that he could fight. And he wasnât afraid to do so if it was really needed. That much an old friend of him had taught him after a face off with something bigger then himâŠ
âThere it is.â he finally spoke, snatching his shoes off the ground and putting them on; wagging a finger at them in a scolding manner. âDonât run off anymore.â he grunted before looking up. âThereâs your water source. Use it well.â he spoke to Crow, leaning against the nearest tree and folding his arms over his chest.
"You still mistrust me, I wouldn't help anyone that I think of as some psychopathic killer..." that was what the other thought, right? He at least would think so of himself. "You don't attack anyone without order, so until then I won't need to test your fighting skills." he then assured the Hatter once more. He rarely fought without needing to. Self preservation was one reason, his first order had been to stay alive, so he was doing just that.
He looked at the sparkling water and a small relieved sigh left his lips. He let go of his horse and walked towards the shore. His coat fell to the ground, he pulled the sleeves of his shirt up and crouched down, reaching out for the water and then started to rub the blood from his hands, looking at the blood washed away, he rubbed worse and worse on his skin. The blood was already gone, and he still tried to wash them clean, but even when his eyes saw they were clean, he could still feel the blood sticking to his hands. Only when he felt a burning on his hands he stopped. Continued to splash water into his face, washing the blood there away too. His clothes were still covered with blood, but he couldn't wash them right now. He let himself fall back, stretching his legs out and laying an arm over his eyes. "Hatter, is that... really a name?" he asked, not so certain if someone really was just called like that. And he needed some words to fill his head, that or being left alone.Â

English is not my native language.
So everytime I type something wrong or use the wrong word or the wrong tempus or grammar etc. I always get paranoid that someone who has english as their native language, will read what I wrote and spot all the mistakes I made and think, âIs she stupid or something??â or âDaamn, her english is horrible, I am never going to speak to herâ.

The Mad Man and the Wingless Crow || justasmadasahatter
âOh I do try. I do tryâŠâ he stated, giving a slow nod in the manâs direction as he looked around for a second before slowly frowning and looking back at him. It wouldnât succeed forever, though⊠Eventually he would fully get on the Red Queenâs bad side, so much that he would find himself hunted down probably.. The same way that poor Knight had gotten to the end of his life. It made his upperlip curl up a bit in a silly face as he tugged a bit at the scarf he wore around his neck before shaking it off and tipping his hat.
âCrow tâis⊠I would say a pleasure. But pardon me if I leave that out. You see, I canât call it a pleasure with the gruesome sight just seen. Iâm sure youâll understand.â he rambled on before blinking. âOfcourse. You asked for directions. I shall give you some. Or better yet, lead you to it. But please keep that sword away from me. Iâm not really much of a fighter, you see.â he stated; lips curving up for a second before he watched his shoes running ahead.
â⊠There they go again. Follow along, follow along. Tâis not too far!â he spoke, rushing after the shoes.
Duncan hoped for the other he was better in not getting himself killed than being quiet. Right now he was talking quite much and if Duncan would be the person the other thought he was, he'd probably be in danger by now. But. luckily for him, he wasn't a cruel murderer... at least not out of free will. "It wasn't a pleasure fore any of the parties involved, that I can promise." No he hated killing, especially as messy as that. On a ship as a pirate in fights sometimes someone lost their life, he had tried to not kill anyone... but that's the danger on sea. "If I would want to kill you, I already would have done so. No need for you go into the dark forest with me. You must be a really naive man though. That you actually lead a killer to a secluded area you see as a threat... unless you actually set up a trap..." he glanced to the man, not that he was thinking too much about him being a real thread, even if he was somewhere he hoped someone would just end his life, but even though he was odd... he was quite amusing too. And talking kept his mind occupied, occupied from the metallic smell of all the blood and the slowly drying splatters on him.

Alone
For a moment Duncanâs face light up with a smile and Killian considered himself a winner right then. The happy expression reminded him of exactly why he had ever been attracted to the former captain in the first place, Duncan had once been as free as himself, that was something Killian admired and the exact reason why he felt like fixing the current predicament. Not that he expected anything in return, or even thought Duncan would come to be one of his many conquests, but as a fellow sea man he couldnât sit and let the man spent eternity like some sadistic queenâs killer.Â
One âwrongâ word from him and Duncan was seething again, hissing through his teeth at the idea that Killian could ever have him at a toy. The captain of the Jolly Roger was rightfully offended by the insinuation. For one Killian had never taken someone against their will, even if it was rather common for pirates to do so, he enjoyed himself far more with a willing partner and with his looks and charm those were never hard to come across. Secondly he offered to help in good faith and the fact that Duncan would let his mild disgust at Killianâs preferences blind his eyes to that when he had almost kissed him once himself annoyed him to no end.Â
Killian was about to up and leave, before he had to sink his blade and some sense into Duncan, when bigger trouble barged into the tavern they were in. The captain didnât move at the orders, his men mirroring his actions, looking at their captain for orders when suddenly he was being yanked from his seat by no other than Duncan himself. Just act with me. He had to bite the inside of his cheek from yanking himself free, shooting his crew a pointed look as they meant to react to such a rough treatment of their captain by a man that should have been of trust, no doubt they all though Störtebecker a traitor.
The exchange between Duncan and the knight was watched in silence and Killian couldnât help but to roll his eyes as the former captain pulled a rank over the other man, no doubt sounding a little proud of his own standing. âQuestionnaires, but of course.â His tone dripped with sarcasm as Killian looked at Smee, his first immediate, and nodded towards the docks, his men would wait in the ship, one day was their rule, have he not returned in that amount of time or sent word, they were to leave without him.Â
âVery well, shall we, Bishop?â
He knew that he was an idiot, he knew that he was a coward, that he was confused and frustrated with himself and let it out on the other. And seeing the eyes of the man darken had actually hurt him, pained him even. He didn't want him to hate him, he didn't want to be a traitor, not to hurt him. He was a rival, a friend... a secret. But that just made him so confused and worried.
âThen we'll take our leave...â he said, leaving the pub together with the captain. Feeling the hateful stares on him, he understood them. He looked the same way at his mirror image, it still did hurt, he and his crew had had a good time with them. And now he was making himself to be a villain, even more so because he was so damn cowardly. When they were a bit away from the Pub, halfway to the castle he let go of Killian, feeling his body slightly struggle to do so. Duncan didn't even dare to really look at the other. âI...â he started, but didn't know what to say. Actually he knew what he should say but it was not so easy. âI am sorry... for what I said... and this act...â the words came pressed like he really had a hard time saying them. âI just... I am an idiot okay?â he glanced again towards him. Why was he ruining himself even more? Why trying to push everyone away that could help? âYou can leave after we filled out a few formulas... I just didn't want you and your men end up on the queen's list.â He really didn't want that, and any struggle or fight had done that, maybe he had reacted too fast? Maybe there had been other, better ways to get them all safely out there? Most... likely... He could just have said he already had been talking to the captain, couldn't he? That had been enough... but he still had pulled Killian with him? Why? Thinking about it made his head ache, made him nearly sick. Struggling with yourself was always a thing that was bad for the body. They entered the castle only a bit later, and he opened the door of his office for the pirate, closing it behind them after. âYou... You know... I always did envy you...â where did those words come from? He was confused by himself, was it true? Yes, yes he was jealous, about the other being so honest to others and himself. Duncan didn't know how to do that, he knew how to play a perfect role... but honesty wasn't planned in there... but why were those words leaving his lips now? Why was he saying something he never had even been able to truly think before? Ah... there was no one around beside them... no one he needed to play his act for... maybe he really had followed the wrong route. âNot your ship or anything... you being able to be honest...â he added, and wanting to cut off his tongue a second later. God dammit, Himmel, Arsch und Zwirn, this really was bad. âOkay then now to the fun part, paper work...â his words in a bitter and sarcastic tone he shrugged his shoulders, hoping to get everything done fast, then Killian could leave and everything would stay the same than before. Yes, perfect.

âOh worry not, I will let my feet do the wandering the other way around. But then iâd be born inside out. That would be weird.â he pondered, shaking his head once before quickly shutting his mouth. He knew he sometimes spoke complete nonsense. It was just something that had came with the time spent in this place. He honestly wasnât too sure how to deal with this man who had so cruelly ended the life of a Knight of the White Queen. He was certain Mirana would feel saddened by the news he would tell upon herâŠ
âI consider myself lucky, I suppose. Today is not the day to be on someoneâs bad side, no?â he added, lips curving up for a split second before falling again as he glanced around for a second. A lake? Oh yes, he knew of one⊠But it was more of a small riverâŠ
âThereâs but a small river closeby⊠I could take you there.â he stated finally, keeping a wary eye upon the Red Knight, or whomever the man was⊠He did not think he had seen him before.. Then again; he wanted little to do with the Red Queen. For he was one-hundred percent behind the White Queen. Tâwas best the stranger did not know that, however.
He wondered what was up with this man, he was even more odd than some other creatures and people he had met yet. Though, it meant at least his name made sense. He had read descriptions of most important people in wonderland, and Mad Hatter had actually been counted as one of them. "Stay that way... lucky. Not on any bodies bad sides..." his eyes rested once more on the dead knight, wondering for a second what he should do with it. But he hadn't done any crime... especially not in the eyes of the kingdom so he didn't need to clean up, right? It still felt wrong... it felt all wrong... but no, no he couldn't do anything. "If your feet decide to actually walk there, I'd be really thankful..." the corners of his mouth twitched slightly upwards, like he was trying to smile, but to no avail. He took the reins of his horse into his hands and looked over to him. "Crow... that is what most call me..." he then introduced himself. He actually hated to be called that way, but it felt wrong to use his real name in this situation.Â

The Mad Man and the Wingless Crow || justasmadasahatter
The Hatter slowly pulled up his upperlip as the man lifted the head; his eyes fixating upon it before he glanced back up, slowly nodding. âThat much I assumed.â he stated simply before taking a hesitant step backwards. He honestly did not like the Red Queen⊠Not one bit⊠Her way of acting was too cruel. âSo uhâŠâ he cleared his throat, smoothing his clothing a bit and averting his eyes from the gruesome scene before him.
He honestly felt like no tea would befall him well if he looked at the sight for too long. And that would be a true shame, for he had promised a nice cup of tea with March and Dormouse.
His head snapped up when the other spoke up, questioning him what he was doing so close to the border to the white kingdom. It made his stomach churn before he slowly shrugged. âFollowing my feet one could say. You see, my feet tend to run away quite a many of times.â he spoke with a serious look upon his face.
The man didn't really know what to make out of the answer. Maybe he even was speaking the truth? Wonderland was an odd place, feet that did what they wanted was something he could actually imagine. He had seen weirder things... but believing a silly lie would not really be his style either. "Then you should be careful where they carry you. Not that they carry you to the scaffold of the queen..." his voice was neutral enough to interpret the words as a metaphorical or a real warning. "But... you don't need to fear me... right now." he said and shrugged his shoulders, lifting an arm to try wiping a few of the blood splatters from his face. "Without order I am harmless... unless aggravated." He walked over to his horse, putting the head of the poor fallen man into a pouch that was attached to the saddle just for that usage. He just wanted to climb on the horse again when he stopped, once more turning his head to the other man. "Do you know a lake around this place?" He preferred to get at least rid of some of the blood before he was riding back into the city and castle, just bad taste if not.
