RIP Violette Verdy
A very sad day for the ballet world. Violette Verdy - a brillinat ballerina and an internationally renowned ballet teacher - passed away today, aged 82.
Verdy danced with American Ballet Theatre and New York City Ballet. She was also the first female artistic director of Paris Opera Ballet (1977-1980).
Rest in peace.
