An odd courier delivering mostly ordinary mail.

"Oh my god this could really be quite the night! Lets do it!" she said skipping a little with excitement. "Lets go everywhere we can! I still have some caps left over from vacation. Lets treat ourselves tonight!"

"We can definitely do that! Which first—dinner and drinks, or gambling the night away?" Gio grinned and began in the direction of the Strip. "I have magic fingers when it comes to cards, you know."

He paused, then winked. “And where other things are concerned, too.”

"Oh my!" she said laughing and gently shoved him. "Gio you scamp you!" "I think we should do dinner and drinks first and then gamble away our life savin's." She snickered a little. "I've never really gambled before so you might have to walk me through it."

"Thank you, Gio…" she said and began to stride next to him. She was quiet a moment before she perked up. "Oh! I do have a pass! I got one when I started couriering."

"Really? Well, we could go for a real night out on the town, then!" Gio lit up. "We could hit the Tops. Or even the Gourmand. I have a friend who can usually get me in on the sly even though they keep kicking me out."

"Yeah I think that’s a good idea. For somewhere so hot in the day its so cold at night." she chuckled then sighed as she looked at him again. "Hey, Gio? I’m really glad you’re still my friend."

"Let’s head towards Freeside, then. We can do the Wrangler. Or head into the Strip if you have a passport." Gio popped the cigarette back into his mouth and slid his hands into his pockets, starting in that direction.

"Aww, we’ll always be friends, sugar." He gave her a sideways glance. "Not seeing you for a while will never change that."

"Thank you, Gio..." she said and began to stride next to him. She was quiet a moment before she perked up. "Oh! I do have a pass! I got one when I started couriering."

"Gosh I would love to meet her!" Hanne beamed and gently squished her own cheeks with her hands. "Oh its so good to catch up with you again."

She sighed a little and fidgeted with her hands again. “Say you wanna sit down and have supper? I mean if you have time. I don’t wanna keep you from being somewhere you gotta be!”

"I’ll have to make certain that you do sometime, then!" Gio plucked his cigarette out of his lips and smiled. "And I would love nothing more than to have dinner with you! Where would you like to go? Should we find somewhere a bit more cozy?"

"Yeah I think that's a good idea. For somewhere so hot in the day its so cold at night." she chuckled then sighed as she looked at him again. "Hey, Gio? I'm really glad you're still my friend."

"Well, sugar, he actually moves around a lot. I actually haven’t heard from him in a while, so I’m not even sure he’s still there." Gio flicked his cigarette away and grinned eagerly.

"My sister is younger! Only by a year, though. She’s always been really independent, though. And she can most definitely take care of herself, if I’m being honest. Maybe better than I can." He pulled a fresh cigarette out of his pocket and lit it, taking a long drag. "I’d love to introduce you sometime."

"Gosh I would love to meet her!" Hanne beamed and gently squished her own cheeks with her hands. "Oh its so good to catch up with you again."

She sighed a little and fidgeted with her hands again. "Say you wanna sit down and have supper? I mean if you have time. I don't wanna keep you from being somewhere you gotta be!"

"A lot of them are pretty common buuuut…" She paused for effect. "There are a few she learned from her mother who learned it from her mother’s mother and so on."  She looked back at him again after breaking her stare into the sky.  "You’re sister and your cousin huh? Where are they now? You know if they’re a trip away and you need to send anythin’ to them I’d be happy to carry it for free. I mean I’ll probably end up there anyways."

"Really? You’d do that for me? I’m probably going to take you up on that." Gio plucked the cigarette out of his mouth; a boyish smile crossed his face. "You really are sweet as sugar, aren’t you? I think that’s one of the nicest things anyone has ever offered to do for me."

"Anyway, they both travel around a lot. Last I heard Leo was doing business on the Strip. Gracie’s with Crimson Caravans too, but we work different routes." He shrugged, popping the cigarette back into his mouth to take a drag. "We used to do runs together, but she likes doing her own thing now."

She grinned at the compliment seemingly very pleased with herself before fidgeting a little. 

"Lucky guy gettin' to work on the strip. Or at least I think it is. I mean its probably just a lil' less dangerous than wandering around the open desert...."  she contemplated it a moment before returning her attention to the conversation at hand "Is your sister younger than you? I know kids get like that... I mean wanting to go off on their own and be independent. I know I was and it was a pain in the butt for everyone."

She gasped and then chuckled at his last comment. "You’re so lucky! I don’t even know any of my cousins." She said and then laced her fingers together as she seemed to stare up into the sky. "Well my grandma is very nice despite being all grumpy. She taught me fisticuffs and how to juggle. She’s not the nicest person when meeting people." Hanne gave a small exaggerated grimace at that. "But she’s patient and understanding. She taught me all the fairy tales I know."

Gio grinned again. “I know my cousins really well. We grew up next to each other—our houses were practically on top of each other. One of them is actually one of my best friends. Him and my sister actually came with me when we left home for the first time. I know he’s still kicking around somewhere in the Mojave.”

He blew smoke into the air. “You’ll have to tell me a fairy tale sometime. I’d love to hear some of the ones your grandmother taught you. It’d be interesting to find out if we heard the same stories growing up.”

"Really? I don’t think you’ve told me about her before." Gio takes a drag on his cigarette and smiles. "What’s she like? I have sort of a big extended family myself, even though my immediate one is a bit smaller. I have a sister that could probably rival your grandmother in sheer orneriness, though."

"We can scour the desert for hair care products and amass them together." she giggled a little and then sighed seeming very relieved. "I’m so glad to see you. What have you been up to? Still traveling with the caravan? Gettin’ into any trouble?"

"Ha! We can do each other’s hair." He laughs and pops a cigarette into his mouth.

"Anyway, you know me. Trouble is my middle name. " Gio winks and wags his fingers at the air like a couple of pistols. He laughs. "I am still with the caravan. What about you? What sort of stuff have you been up to?"

"Aaah well you know..." she crossed her arms sort of staring off, "I made enough caps carrying mail around and took a vacation. Visited my grandmother and caught up with her. She still as ornery as ever." she chuckled a little and scratched her elbow.

It’s great to see you! I missed you so much. [Gio manages to grin even wider somehow, and ruffles the back of his own very-messy hair.] Ha! We should form a club for people who can’t control their own hair.

"Hello, Friend. HELLO! Long time no see!" Hanne beams while doing one big long wave with her whole arm. "Been gone from the Mojave I'm afraid. I guess I have gotten some more sun.... and lost control of my hair a little...."

Talent, Story Time

Talent: Do you have any strange talents or skills you’ve learned but never really had a use for?

"I’m pretty good at juggling! Though there’s no real use for it outside of a party trick. My grandma taught me how to embroider and I remember all of the patterns but colored thread and needles are hard to find."

Story Time:Tell a story about something you did or something that has happened to you within the last 24 hours.

"Once upon a time there was a little girl and her grandmother. The little girl’s grandmother asked her to go and deliver some mail to a courier. The little girl of course agreed as she was a good girl and eager to help her grandmother. So the little girl made her way down the long looong road to the town where the courier was. She got very tired because it was very hot outside and so she took a nap next to some rocks in the shade. Well the little girl napped too long! It was nearly dark when she woke up and by the time she reached the town the sun had gone down. She was very scared but she knew she had to get her grandmother’s letters delivered. When she was nearly to the courier’s office a wolf jumped out from the shadows and snarled at her to give him her caps. She new for sure the wolf would eat her if she didn't!

She backed away terribly afraid but once the wolf came into the moonlight she realized he wasn't a wolf at all he was just a dog! A mangy one at that. The little girl wasn't afraid anymore and she clobbered him right in the nose and told him to go back home! He let out a howl and clutch his bloody nose before he scampered into the night, yelping and cursing under his breath. 

The little girl finally slipped the letters into the couriers box and then started her way home. By the time she got there it was very late and her grandmother was very worried! She scolded the little girl about this but hugged her close. The little girl didn't mind the scolding. She was just happy to be at home again.
