Claustrum: A shut in place

Consists of claud- +‎ -trum. (Classical): /ˈklaus.trum/, [ˈklaus.trũ]. It's amazing how it gave rise to a number of words/terms. In science, Claustrophobia: (from Latin claustrum “a shut in place” and Greek φόβος, phóbos, “fear”) is the fear of having no escape and being closed in (wikipedia, 2012). In addition, "claustrum" could also mean as a barrier or fence. It is synonymous to "claudere" which means TO SHUT.
