I want you to hear me out of this okay? U can write it if you want but if u don't wanna just tell me your thoughts on it
AHEM AHEM
what if we...you know the ghouls and the reader are having a good time. Maybe after a mission or during the mission where they were TOLD that the anomaly isn't like- very dangerous or anything okay?
And basically, what I'm trying to say is what if we pull a kaito move on the reader. You know how he got killed almost instantly and no one had time to react?
Something like that
I just wanna see the ghouls suffer please by all means feel free to beat the shit out of me with a paper roll or whatever you see fit and shoo me off like a raccoon
Oh man I love self-indulgent angst where you make grown men cry over you. Honestly, this is an idea I revisit often. If you want a fic of it, go ahead and name a character. When I'm given the liberty to choose I tend to bounce around and skim most of them so you can preview which particular heartbreak appeals to you.
Ghouls Mourning MC
I mean, we all saw how devastated Luca was over losing someone close. He and Kaito may be the Chaos Combo, but you're their wrangler, their handler, their eye of the storm, and without you they would immediately spiral and be more destructive, not just to everyone around them but themselves.
Jin would just. Turn into that caveman they found in ice. Totally frozen, never comes out of his room. They'll find him in 100,000 years in the same slumped over position he was in when he learned you died. Its joever. You were his chance to reclaim something he lost, to thaw his heart and that last source of warmth in his life was gone and he just gives tf up.
Tohma is less personally devastated, but he is shell shocked. He goes through the motions, sees to his routines with a need to keep himself busy before he reflects on what he lost and feels hopeless.
Alan feels a loss he hasn't felt since he lost his father. This doesn't come close to that, but it's a kick to the ribs when he's already down. Also shell shocked, also more reclusive after you're gone. You were so soft and sweet to him, tiny and precious and he was helpless when this cruel world decided to snuff you out.
Sho and Leo act out to hide their sadness. They act like it's no big deal, death comes for us all, but they lie awake at night and just feel sick. They wanted more time with you, they should have been better to you. Regrets swirl into full blown depression that they try to hide but they're noticeably shorter-tempered with everyone, quick to start fights. Sho's no longer pulling punches in the Pit, he wants to feel his knuckles split if only to distract this pain in his chest he doesn't know how to deal with.
It's always raining in Jabberwock. Always. Towa is devastated. The safari has been closed for weeks, the enclosures are muddy, and Haru is just watching everything fall apart and he was running on fumes before that. Ren has given up as well. He pretends he's grateful the safari is finally doomed so he doesn't have to work, but he refuses to admit he hates it. This isn't what he wanted. He just wanted free time. Now everyone is as miserable as he is.
Taiga and Romeo are angrier. They come to blows frequently, and Ritsu can barely ever rein them in. Taiga doesn't even know what's missing, he just knows something's wrong. Something's gone. Romeo doesn't want to give you credit for bringing the order you did, he's just cursing you for leaving.
Hotarubi is as melancholy as Jabberwock. It rained before but that always made the dorm more peaceful. Now they feel like they're drowning. Subaru and Haku stop eating and sleep poorly. When they do sleep, they dream of you being angry with them for not saving them, or of you dying again in front of them when the air feels like water and they can never reach you in time. Haku visits the chapel often, searching for your ghost because he wants to see you one more time. Tell you he's sorry, tell you he still cares about you. Zenji will keep you company, happily show you how to move around as a ghost. But you never show up. Even people not sensitive enough to see ghosts in Hotarubi can hear Zenji drifting along the halls, sobbing at night.
Ed feels your absence, wishes it had been differently, and remarks some romantic babble about your being a flower plucked too soon that makes Rui and Lyca angry. The two of them hole up in their rooms and struggle to deal with the loss.
Yuri and Jiro feel the failure of not being able to save you. The curse, the accident, your injuries. They obsess over it until it makes them sick, losing too much sleep, making dangerous mistakes. It's a setback for their research and a hit to their confidence.
Jo and Elias talk about you without saying your name. It feels like sacrilege to speak of so soon, but they're trying to discuss happy memories that all taste bittersweet. You're the only nameless 'her' they refer to. Mio throws himself into fixing the chapel, as if it meant he didn't put off your needs and disappoint you. He won't admit it, but he does it as a way of feeling like you're close to him. He'll nap in the chapel and swear he can feel you drifting by. Shion is mad you left him. You got away and you'll never come back. He scrounges for traces of you, collecting the things you left behind and there's a shrine to you in his closet. It has your notebooks, your personal journal, printed pictures from your phone, some worn clothes (and it will crush him when they lose your scent), your perfumes. Anything he can squirrel away. He even tries to dig you up, but Elias stops him.
The ones that hit me the hardest are Towa, Haku and Zenji. I've literally brought myself to tears multiple times thinking of them T^T
This next WOL EP teaser is genuinely getting to me because last week, while I was eepy sleepy suffering at work, I had the weirdest longass dream about the TKDB ghouls 😭✋🏻
I KNEW I was dreaming, but I couldn’t control anything at all. It felt like the entire dream was already scripted and I was just forced to follow along like an NPC in some game. So anyway. Here is my entire yap session because my subconscious decided to produce Netflix original content.
The concept of the dream was that the Darkwick ghouls were not actually the characters themselves. Instead, TKDB was a movie/drama production, and all of them were actors playing those roles. Because they were actors instead of the actual characters, their real personalities were super different from who they played in game.
I remember sitting with either Haru or Haku. I genuinely cannot remember which one because my brain was still lagging when I woke up. Alan was there too. Then Haru/Haku mentioned that everybody THOUGHT Taiga was the troublemaker on set, but the REAL troublemaker was actually Alan.
And Alan just laughed. Not normal laughed either. It was that stupid handsome, drop-dead, bad-boy teen angst rumble chuckle kind of laugh 😭 WHY was my own dream trying to rizz me up????
Haru/Haku then explained that Taiga was actually one of the most polite people on set because he had a lot of scenes with older actors. Everybody apparently found it hilarious because he talked respectfully, used honorifics with everyone and acted super polite despite playing… well… Taiga 💀

Then they started talking about Hyde.
Hyde was the hardest person to mess around with once filming started because the second the camera rolled, this man LOCKED IN. Nobody could disturb him. No matter how silly people acted in the background, Hyde almost never had NGs or bloopers.
⊹ ࣪ ˖ 𝐉𝐈𝐍 + 𝐓𝐎𝐇𝐌𝐀: 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐍𝐆𝐒 ⊹ ࣪ ˖
Meanwhile the kings of NGs were Jin and Tohma because they kept laughing every single time Jin went into his dramatic emo mode 😭
Sometimes Tohma would start laughing while delivering his lines. Sometimes Jin would start laughing while laying on the couch. Sometimes BOTH of them would completely lose composure together and ruin the scene for everybody else. They got along really well irl too.
⊹ ࣪ ˖ 𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐀𝐒: 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐆𝐄𝐒𝐓 ⊹ ࣪ ˖
Then Rui joined the conversation and mentioned that Elias was actually the youngest actor on set, which apparently shocked everybody during table read day because he really did not give youngest member vibes at all.

The actors who seem to struggle the most with their roles were Towa and Subaru.
Subaru had been personally scouted by the director MULTIPLE times. He originally rejected the role because after reading the script he genuinely thought the character did not fit him and he would not be able to pull it off properly. “Yeah no this character does NOT fit me and I’m gonna flop this.”
But the director kept coming back trying to convince him over and over until Subaru finally agreed, and that was how they got Subaru Kagami.
Towa had the most insane academic background imaginable. Graduated from a top university, high GPA, currently studying MBA, and somehow still ended up in the entertainment industry entirely because his face card was too powerful 😭
Then there was Shion, who was a rising star at the time. Somebody introduced him to the director, although dream me forgot who because that part was blurry.
Production team had been struggling HARD to cast Shion’s role because:
The script was difficult to memorize due to the way the character spoke.
The character himself had really specific vibes and mannerisms.
Not everybody could deliver the role properly.
They went through THREE audition rounds and still could not find anyone suitable until Shion showed up and the director basically went “OH MY GOD FINALLY.”
Edward was one of the struggling actors at the time. He originally auditioned for Shion’s role because it was difficult and unique, but since nobody passed that audition round, he assumed he was done for too. Then the director decided he fit the NEET vampire energy better instead, and thus Edward Hart was born.

Dante was not only acting in the production but was ALSO funding and sponsoring the movie himself 😭
Apparently he was originally supposed to just be a cameo character, but the director loved his acting so much that he kept extending Dante’s screentime and writing more scenes for him.
Alan’s dad, Issei, was also a cameo role AND the technical director of the production.
⊹ ࣪ ˖ 𝐉𝐎: 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐂𝐎𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐄 ⊹ ࣪ ˖
Jo got discovered in very random way. The visualist team and some staff members went to watch a musical theatre production and bumped into him while standing in line. They immediately looked at him and collectively decided “yeah this one belongs in TKDB.”
⊹ ࣪ ˖ 𝐘𝐔𝐑𝐈 + 𝐉𝐈𝐑𝐎: 𝐈𝐃𝐈𝐎𝐓𝐒 𝐎𝐍 𝐒𝐄𝐓 ⊹ ࣪ ˖
Zenji did an interview where he exposed Yuri and Jiro for being complete idiots on set because they worked together so often that they constantly messed around before serious takes to loosen up 😭
Jiro’s hair was actually a wig, which was why Yuri kept bullying him about it during breaks.
These two also kept running around with medical props because they thought they looked cool, yelling “IS THERE A DOCTOR IN THE HOUSE?” every five minutes like kindergarten children😭✋🏻
⊹ ࣪ ˖ 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐃 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 ⊹ ࣪ ˖
Everybody on set also said Hyde and Zenji constantly reread their scripts during lunch breaks, especially Zenji because his lines were difficult to memorize.
Zenji could play guitar and drums, but had absolutely ZERO knowledge of traditional instruments, so he specifically learned how to play the biwa for the role.
Haku learned flute for the role too. And he had to wore contact lenses but they irritated his eyes so badly that his eyes kept getting watery, so he had to keep replacing lenses 😭 my poor boy.
Best singer on set was Lyca. He used to be an idol before branching into acting.
⊹ ࣪ ˖ 𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐎: 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐒𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐓 𝐒𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐎𝐑 ⊹ ࣪ ˖
Romeo was extremely sweet toward the rest of the cast because he was already one of the seniors with many acting projects under his belt. He constantly apologized to and checked on Taiga after scenes because he had to yell at and curse him so much in-character 😭
They KEPT mentioning how young Taiga was compared to most of the actors he shared screentime with.
⊹ ࣪ ˖ 𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐒𝐄 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐆𝐎𝐓 𝐂𝐀𝐒𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐎𝐔𝐆𝐇 𝐀𝐔𝐃𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 ⊹ ࣪ ˖
Kaito had to cut and dye his hair, which initially made him sad until he eventually got attached to the look.
Lucas had to take etiquette and manners classes immediately after auditions before he even knew if he secured the role or not.
Mio used to lay bricks at construction sites back when he had absolutely zero acting gigs. One of his friends told him to try auditions, so he did without expecting anything major and somehow ended up landing a role that would only appear in Season 2.
Apparently the production crew only contacted him after Season 1 was already halfway through airing. Thank God this man happened to still be available 😭
Mio also had the MOST draft character designs because the visualist team could not decide whether to keep his hair short or make it long.
Ritsu originally only attended auditions because his friend wanted company. The friend got absolutely nothing while Ritsu passed 😭
Rui was already somewhat well-known from romance dramas, so auditioning for TKDB was completely outside his usual image. He said he wanted to shake up his reputation because he did not want to stay permanently stuck “pretty male lead in romance dramas.”
Rui is also EXTREMELY allergic to alcohol and does not drink at all, but still attended bartender classes for the role anyway.
⊹ ࣪ ˖ 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒 𝐃𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐍𝐄𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐎𝐑 ⊹ ࣪ ˖
The Leo Kurosagi character was designed SPECIFICALLY for Leo because he was a rising star everybody wanted at the time.
Another character specifically designed around the actor was Moby.
Sho was Dante’s cousin irl, which had absolutely nothing to do with Hyde. Same situation as Zenji and Jiro (no relate).
Sho joked during interviews that he could not cook to save his life, although he could handle basic stuff, so after reading the script he asked his grandfather for cooking lessons to make scenes more believable.
He also got the role pretty easily because he already knew how to ride motorcycles and had actual mechanic knowledge.
People also bullied him because he had the most NGs due to his bandana constantly falling off mid-scene 😭
The weirdest detail in my dream was... MC was not even an actress.
She was literally an INSPECTOR working with the filming crew.
Which made me question WHO THE HELL was playing Honor Roll then???
At some point Rui asked Haru/Haku what they were talking about, and somehow the conversation circled all the way back to Alan being the biggest problem on set.
His real personality contrasted SO hard with his appearance that whenever he did something dumb everybody immediately lost their sht.
Some scenes literally removed Alan from set because people would look at him and instantly start laughing uncontrollably, causing endless NGs and bloopers 😭
Meanwhile the director would stare at Alan while everybody else was dying laughing and Alan would just go:
“What? I didn’t even do anything, I swear.”
⊹ ࣪ ˖ 𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐎𝐌 𝐁𝐓𝐒 𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐒 ⊹ ࣪ ˖
Apparently Alan’s wrists were too big for the accessories prop too, so staff had to run around trying to find replacements 😭
Taiga did his own nails to save hair and makeup time.
Also every gaming console/device used on set belonged to Ren personally because he brought all his own stuff to use as props.
Honestly does this count as nepo baby behavior because I would NEVER trust random people touching my gaming setup 😭
Some cast members were bilingual/trilingual too, including Haru, Kaito, and MAYBE Rui?? Dream me forgot that part. But Towa was a polyglot because this man collects talents like Pokémon cards.
Hodge and Podge were easter eggs named after the chairman of their company.
Yuri and Edward originally had WAY more screentime, but they signed NDAs so they “couldn’t tell me more.”
WHY DID MY DREAM INCLUDE LEGAL CONTRACTS?!!!
Yuri also liked fishing, and so did Edward, so the two of them would sometimes go fishing together.
Haru constantly complained about hair and makeup because the prosthetic arm took forever to apply and he apparently was not the type who could sit still and wait patiently for long periods.
⊹ ࣪ ˖ SMOKING SCENES ⊹ ࣪ ˖
There were originally more smoking scenes for Alan too but the actor himself did not smoke so they cut them.
Jin and Tohma had more smoking scenes as well, but they never knew when or where the director would actually use them. Tohma used herbal cigarettes because they were nicotine-free, but they tasted awful. Jin hated the smell and taste so much that he sometimes just used real tobacco instead.
I almost forgot someone very important: Kyklos and Flower Witch are both screenwriters of TKDB.
There was absolutely no mention of Chancellor anywhere in my dream. That man must be unemployed in my subconscious.
Anyway. That was my dream.
⊹ ࣪ ˖ 𝐀 𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄 𝐅𝐑𝐎𝐌 𝐌𝐄 ⊹ ࣪ ˖
Rereading this made me remember there were actually SO many details in the dream that felt super clear while I was dreaming, but the second I woke up everything became blurry and fuzzy as hell 💀
So here are some scattered extra things I wrote down afterward because I’m pretty sure these also happened on set.
Zenji, Hyde, Jiro, and Ren were apparently the tallest people on set.
But while Zenji and Hyde constantly smacked their heads into door frames and random structures, Ren and Jiro somehow avoided this problem because they naturally slouched all the time 😭
The staff had to put warning signs around set so they would stop walking into things.
Taiga complained nonstop about how hard it was getting into skinny jeans when the weather was humid✋🏻
The person who smelled the BEST on set was Lyca.
Apparently he always carried hand cream around because of old habits from his idol days.
The person who taught Sho how to skate for that one specific scene was Kaito.
Apparently Kaito was super sporty irl which made it even funnier that he somehow ended up playing a character that wheezes after running for 5 seconds
Elias lost EVERY SINGLE UNO GAME.
Elias once accidentally grabbed a lollipop prop thinking it was real and spent several seconds confused about why it had absolutely no flavor.
Shion and Leo got along really well on set.
They were the ONLY actors with personal changing rooms.
The director offered Subaru one too, but he refused because he thought it was fine sharing with everyone else.
Apparently the cast members most likely to accidentally spoil things during interviews were: Jin, Tohma, Jo
Jo spoiled things because he wasn’t familiar with how movie interviews worked, so whenever interviewers asked sneaky bait questions he would just answer honestly 😭
Meanwhile Jin and Tohma mostly spoiled things by accident.
Slapping hands over each other’s mouths every time somebody almost leaked something.
Ren and Taiga were both picky eaters, but they adapted well enough to the filming environment that it never became a real issue.
MC was not only the Inspector on set, but also part of the visualist/costume design department.
Apparently most of the outfit concepts came from her.
And the entire creation/design process for Saburo was heavily influenced by her too.
Mio broke props CONSTANTLY during filming because he had so many fixing/repair scenes and the props were fragile as hell 💀
Subaru could not drink tea or coffee because he was extremely caffeine sensitive.
So most of the tea scenes in Hotarubi were apparently just cups of water.
Ritsu thought the Sinostra set was cool as hell because there were weapon props lying around everywhere inside the casino set.
Tohma may or may not have accidentally smacked other people in the head with his weapon props, especially Lucas since he has a lot of action scenes with the guy. Jin is just so used to it at this point.
Lucas apparently had to lose weight AND train to gain muscle for the role.
The production team gave him detailed workout instructions and even assigned him a personal trainer.
He said his body had never felt this toned before.
Hyde, Zenji and Romeo had more muscular builds than the actual character concept art, so production either made them lose weight or covered them up with clothing.
⊹ ࣪ ˖ 𝐅𝐀𝐕𝐎𝐑𝐈𝐓𝐄 𝐒𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐄𝐒 𝐓𝐎 𝐏𝐋𝐀𝐘 ⊹ ࣪ ˖
Lyca said his favorite scene was the prologue balcony jump.
Apparently it was a REAL balcony too
There were safety air cushions below and it wasn’t dangerously high
Haku, Zenji & Subaru
All three of them agreed their favorite scenes were the anomaly fight scenes because they got to use swords.
They all had to properly learn sword handling beforehand too.
Shion said his favorite scene was the fire breathing scene because he had never done anything like that before in his life.
It required tons of post-production and effects editing afterward, but he still nailed the practical part on the first try.
Elias and Lucas refused to answer because “it would violate NDA”
Alan said basically every action scene was fun for him. He enjoyed almost all of them.
He also may or may not have asked Sho to drive him around the filming set on the motorcycle!!
In Italy it is (to my understanding and as I have been told by Italians) customary to greet others with a hug and 1~3 kisses on the cheek. Kisses are normally 'air kisses' where you maybe touch cheeks and kind of make a kissing sound and less often are actual physical kisses on the cheek, but Romeo is a little more physically affectionate than most and does occasionally kiss people he likes and considers 'clean' enough as a greeting, some direct kisses, others not.
Mind you those people are few and far between, but they're there!
In the past this obviously included Taiga, but in their present state of feuding this doesn't happen anymore. Romeo protests Taiga even touching him(read: drape himself on top of him and fall asleep?) on the basis of him being 'disgusting.' As they start working together and getting closer again(or in @taiga-shark 's case, wordlessly reestablish whatever situationship they had before) he'll probably go back to greeting and parting with kisses, though.
Aside from Taiga he's comfortable kissing Leo as well(and Leo enjoys this, as he's also physically affectionate.) He kisses Hyde too, in private, if he's earned it.
Previously he'd kissed Jin(allowed it) and Haku(thinks it's kind of cute) in private as well, as doing so where any of the Frostheimers could see would obviously result in scandal, but once he decided to stop pursuing transfer to Frostheim this understandably stopped.
In the future he'll probably do this to Ritsu eventually(Ritsu will advise against continuing to engage in 'foreign greeting practices, as doing so may compromise his eligibility for nationalization under basis of Conduct (Article 5, Paragraph 1, Item 3 of the Japanese Nationality Act)') and, obviously, PC(who will be flustered but not refuse as they don't want to offend or anger Romeo, if not out of feelings of their own.)
as usual I very much enjoy tkdb’s character naming and I like how tohma’s name (磴 塔真) fits him and tells me more about what he might be like!!
his last name 磴 means step (as in stepping stone, stepstool, steps of a ladder etc). he’s jin’s stepping stone in making sure the place runs smoothly. he plays the perfect role of the vice captain that is solid and sure and there when he’s needed.
the character also can be split into two characters, 石 (stone) and 登 (to climb). he’s not climbing up based on luck or flattery - he’s making his way up step by step through solid skill and genuine hard work. there’s foundation to how he rises up the ranks. it’s also echoed in the last character, 真, can mean to be solid, to be real or to be true.
but the 塔 in his name offers a really nice twist!! when putting his last name and the first half of his name together, 磴塔 means to climb a pagoda. which is !!! because famously, pagodas are hollow and don’t have stairs! I think it offers a great insight into his ambitions and his personality - if there isn’t a way up, he’s going to forge it himself.
it’s also reflected in his 五格 - his 总格, which reflects the way he approaches his professional life, is 40. It basically translates to: he’s someone who carries out his promises and won’t go back on his word, and will earn everyone’s trust that way. he’s straightforward without any pretences. he doesn’t like to use flattery to get what he wants. even though he might not be everyone’s cup of tea at first, he will gain everyone’s approval in the end. he won’t be successful overnight, but he’ll get there step by step.
which reads to me as very tohma! he’s trustworthy and gets where he wants to go by building trust and by working hard. he carries out his duties with jin and despite tohma supposedly transferring in from vagastrom and jin healing from a ?betrayal jin is slowly beginning to trust tohma.
his 人格, which describes his interpersonal relationships and his character, made me laugh: he’s constantly worried about his children (chaos duo, anyone?). he takes an active role in his work, and has high expectations of others. he doesn’t leave out a single detail, and is a very strict manager. he is someone who will keep a tight rein on the household, prepares many back-up plans and enjoys being the one giving directions. which is so !!! because isn’t this just tohma sitting in his vault with his paperwork running the frostheim household and planning balls!! we can also see this side of him during the first frostheim chapter, where he monitors the chaos duo’s mission from afar and has a back-up plan for when things go wrong.
his 人格 also reads that he’s the kind of person who would die for his friends. suffering for his friends is nothing to him, and he doesn’t mind if he gets his knuckles bloody for them. which WOOOOH smells like both vice-captain!tohma AND vagastrom!tohma to me!!
also this is a small thing but this detail in his 总格 made me laugh too: he will constantly squabble with his partner. i’m not saying it sounds like him & a certain captain but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
anyway tkdb character naming and design slaps as always, big fan
The comical realization that the only houses in which the captain and vice captain both probably mostly do their jobs are Hotarubi and Vagastrom.
You might think Leo would refuse all the administrative work but Leo's big into fucking up the powerful systems in place--his pre-prologue dialogue about making the people responsible for making the life suck pay suggests as much. He would approve lower ranking missions so Vagastrom students can actually go outside now and then, even though Alan/Dante wouldn't approve permits. Hell in Chapter 8 he refuses to let the PC have the document they were asking for because it was their only copy and it'd be a problem if they lost it--so he made them copies instead. He seems like he wouldn't because he's selfish, but I really think he would do his job as vice captain if it came up, or if it seemed like Alan was struggling with the load. Or if the general students were too afraid of Alan to get his help and they found him much less intimidating to ask for things.
You might think 'what about Mortkranken' but either Yuri would push everything off onto Jiro because it's not worth his valuable research time, or he wouldn't let Jiro handle anything because 'you don't understand how to do this'(or because one time Jiro abruptly got sick all over very important paperwork and he'd rather not risk that again.)
Every other house? Either the captain does everything(Jabberwock) or the vice captain does everything(Frostheim; Sinostra; Obscuary.) Hell even in Hotarubi, Subaru tries to do a lot of the work but Haku takes it upon himself anyway, but at least he's willing.
