Home/Work is a group exhibition located on Franklin St in the CBD which is part of the brilliant Metro Tunnel Creative Program. The theme was to explore our experiences and environment while working from home during the Covid lockdowns of last year. My response was one of repeated repeats…..Working from home - life appears to be a blurry transition of Starting. Finishing and Repeating. Think of a image of an Apple Macbook I calendar entry - but one one that never ends. It appears to be always on repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Working from home the days and weeks turn into the one. Dates are irrelevant. When's my next lecture? What week are we in? Is it the weekend? // During this semester with our awesome @interiordesign.rmit crew, we have been inspired by our own design crushes - observing the beauty they create and how they communicate this to the world through digital channels. We’ve explored the application of repetition through the use of a single material in retail design, and we got back to basics - and created beautiful objects with our hands. Lastly it all came down to a shoebox ! Here our final assessment looks at brave news way of interpreting experience design in the retail space.
