ash's mother left the home, and their father, when ash and his sister first enrolled in college. both of them were still living in the family home so her sudden absence was raw and unpleasant, but not misunderstood. she had made it clear for years the marriage was set in place for the children's stability, as her husband, their father, was a miserable alcoholic.

ash takes far too much delight in a teenager's stumble, but only because said teenager was overheard by yours truly saying how ugly that 'old man car' out front was.

' i'd laugh if you tripped too. ' ash pops a piece of gum into his mouth.

what good it will do leon is dubious, as far as ash is considered. the others he gets in these fun little adventures with tend not to survive till the end, leaving ash the perpetual army of one.

' i'm assumin' you want me there in the field and not giving directions in a sultry voice from some nise, cozy, safe deskchair --- i don't really like t' do this kinda thing unless the pay is worth it. '

a total lie, he's never gotten paid for this shit once in his life. doesn't mean he won't try and bluff the other man into changing that.

The action is SO QUICK she doesn't even truly take the time to consider — no elegant sliding of thoughts through her brain, no stuttered musings — SIMPLY the swish of her foot pulling back and DRIVING the PEACH into the farthest wall.

Petite frame heaves air as though she were just running for MILES, emerald gaze locked squarely on the splattered fruit clotted against the brick. Her focus flicks to him and the image of the rugged man TRUSSED into a tight ballgown swims comically before her.

he watches the tenacity in her movements with a bemused blend of fear and awe. tiny, but she packs a wallop ; ashley notes that, because christ forbid there's things here worse than peaches --

and he knows, without any doubt, that there are.

' here, yeah. i'm still trying to figure out where here is. ' his brunette eyes linger on the brickwork, the moss and foliage that ebb and bleed through every crack in the stone. he runs the pad of his index finger against it, and moss gently scrapes onto his skin. ' place has got to be riddled with mold. '

an amusing thought crosses his mind, that this is all some terrible awful black mold hallucination. spores leaked into his brain and made him conjure up evil peaches.

" Nah, you're good. If you were you know I would tell that to your face" she was so lucky to have a boss that didn't mind at all if she insulted rude customers. But Ash was definitely not one of them.

" I'm happy to see you too! So tell me what can I bring you, anything you would like to drink?"

ash considers himself tremendously lucky she's a kind and friendly face, he's in desperate need of that. lately, or in general, he's not entirely sure.

he just wants her companionship.

father’s day is a moot point to me since last year my biological father murdered my mom. kinda just numb today. but hangin’ in there.

ash has freckles all over his beautiful face, the bridge of his nose, cheekbones. they spill onto his brow too.

on his shoulders too, is an entire constellation of freckles. so many.

the weariness is drenched in his voice, written into the pores of his skin. most noticeable under the eyes.
