I'm on the ave with Kelvin Shakeizzle Wallace. he making beats & I'm like nigga I need one for the intro. he was making one I was fucking with. in walks Eric Jreel Pikes. the nigga plays a beat so godly I'm like niggaaaaaaaaaaa GIMME DAT. lol recorded that shit next day, end of story. Squad - ok so Carlos Burnett Moore fat ass had the beat already. whole gang on the ave & he talmbout let's record, let's record. I'm with the shits. I think this is the first song we did so the idea of Godville wasn't even born yet. but anyways, we all in the studio OVERLY faded & the beat comes on. the nigga Quan literally just starts yelling "SQUAD!" at the top of his lungs cuz that's the only way the nigga knows how to communicate. lol then me & Loso just egging him on with the "OHH!". the first draft of this song is incredibly drunk. like, you can hear the liquor, no lie. lmao but uhh, yea.....SQUADDD!! Dope God - so Fat Ass (& lets just establish now that Fat Ass = Lord Loso aka Carlos)...he calls me like bro come on the ave you gotta hear this shit. so he already had the hook & his verse and all that. I just added my verse & all the extra vocals after smoking massive amounts of marijuana. again, at this point there is no "Godville" yet. This was proly the quickest verse I ever wrote cuz well....weed is my thing. lol & there you have "Dope God" Change - on the ave again, what else is new? Loso is like the king of finding producers who make dope beats. lemme just say that. lol I don't remember how the hook came about but hooks are also Loso's thing. This verse took a minute. idk why, it just did. fuck you. you don't know my life. but anyways, this ugly nigga Mike aka Sixty aka Guapo Miguel (I just refer to him as ugly....because he's ugly as shit) was supposed to lay the third verse & he did but the verse was snickel frits so we was like eh, no. but that's my nigga tho. he wanted the song for himself after he heard it too, on the lowest of keys. again, eh, no. lol Bae Ass (Interlude) - this was just hella dope smoke at Desiree Bolden crib. Fat Ass put her on the spot & lowkeyly told me to record her. I did. lol Narmcena Youael was in the vicinity as well. 1 Night Stand - ok so we at the nigga Mychal S Ford crib. he playing beats for us & shit. niggas done hit the bong & the fuggin vaporizer. LIT NIGGA. this where we get our freestyles out at & where I feel comfortable making beats. but that day we were just bouncing ideas. so Myke play like 20 beats no lie. we been free styling for like 20 mins. I still got that recording of us freestyling too. then he plays THE beat & my high ass just goes "my one night stand game strong". don't ask. lol I lowkey like the freestyle better than the final version but whatever. this is the day and the exact moment where "Godville" came into play. idk man, I was high as shit & I just said it. Loso was like, ok. Myke was like, why Godville? I'm like nigga idk I'm high I feel godly right now. leave me alone. lol 2011 - BY FAR MY FAV SONG ON THE EP! maybe my fav song ever frfr. it's just so real, so true, so genuine & you can feel that shit. Fat Ass is a genius for taking two separate beats & combining them. the nigga texted me a fucking long ass gay ass love letter about how he made a song & his verse was him talking to me & it's about the great ass summer we had in 2011. in your feelings or nah bro? what a fucking faggot. haha but nah when I heard it I knew it was lit. the goddess that is Ily Rose added amazing vocals/ a verse as well but I'm not gone lie, I had an asshole moment cuz I wanted my verse where hers was cuz I thought it sounded better. then her verse didn't sound right at the end either cuz my verse is long as shit. I don't even count bars no more. fuck structure man, do what feels right. that's another lecture tho. so anyway we ended up taking Ily's verse off cuz with hers it was like a 8 min song dead ass. TGTF - so this song is SUPER lit. I was on some Kanye shit like nah I'm it even gone rap on it nigga, I just wanna control all aspects of the song. lol so lowkeyly I jacked this song from Fat Ass & my nigga Robo Riles who killed the hook & bodied the 2nd verse. I was like yall niggas lowkey made raw ass gospel song frfr lol. the nigga JReel made this beat too. TGTF = Trill Gang Trill Family, Thank God & The Family. that's Fat Ass's little thing or whatever. lol no shade, no shade (hella shade). so we at the session doing the final recording and mixing @ JDR which is where we do all final mixes and recording (shout out) & the nigga Darrion, who's the engineer just presses record, literally just gets up, doesn't say a word, goes in the booth. sits down. no lights on & starts singing that wonderful melody at the end. me & Fat Ass in the control room starring at each other like wtf?! like my nigga, for one, YOU CAN SING?! and two, WTF YOU CAN SING BRO?!?!?! man once that happened I knew this shit was going up.... and there you have it. the story of Godville. my thumbs are tired as shit.
