The Daily Dipper

Dipper’s first vet visit with us! Heartworm negative and all done with vaccines for the next 6 months!!!

I also got him a life jacket but he does not seem happy about it yet.. I’m sure he’ll come around once he figures out he gets to swim more with it.

Also! Finally decided on an age. He’s 8 months so we’re just gonna call his birthday December 19, 2018. We got him June 19 so it just makes it easier. We’ll be celebrating his adoption day anyway.

Dipper first time swimming was.. rough. But he loves it!! He wants those ducks! 😂

I need to get a life jacket for him before we go anywhere besides this pond.

The mud is his favorite part of going to the dog park.

He even dropped his favorite toy into a huge puddle.. I thought it would float. It did not. So guess who went into calf deep mud water to find it!!

My alarm went off this morning and Dipper came snuggle closer!! Usually he wakes me up in the morning but he’s turning into a major snuggle buddy.

First day at the dog park! He played well and got so dirty. Also had some fun on the agility stuff, nothing serious, just playing around.

Our bond is getting better

When we first got dipper, I liked him. He’s a good dog, really cute, usually listens well. But I didn’t exactly feel love love for him. And I felt bad for it, like he’s ours now I should love him the way I loved my other dog I had for 18 years. But a lot of people have the same problem at first, it’s normal. Real bonds take time.

We’ve had dipper for almost a month now and I can honestly say that we’re getting closer. He cuddles more and seeks me out in the house. He’s getting more independent and comfortable in his new house but he still likes to be close to me. And I feel closer to him. Obviously I don’t have the same feelings as I did for Lexi but that took time.

So all in all, on 7-14-19 our bond is pretty good and I can’t wait to see it get even better.

Our bond is definitely getting stronger. Even though we’ve had a few bumps in the road, I think we’re doing pretty good for only being together less than 3 weeks.

I am no longer allowed to take baths in peace. Dipper LOVES getting in the water, and he likes it even more when I’m in there.
