I read today about the American journalist Katie Halper getting fired by her news outlet over a monologue she wrote saying that Israel is an apartheid state. She recorded the following video for Breakthrough News that sums up why https://youtu.be/_3xLOxx1ggQ
I was reminded of a conversation at my school where some colleagues said they rather avoid the subject of Israel/Palestine because it's too sensitive. I am convinced we should talk about it around us, also with our students.
After the many testimonies, the videos, the articles, the proof by Al-Haq Organization مؤسسة الحق, Al Mezan Center for Human Rights, Adalah - The Legal Center for Arab Minority Rights in Israel, Addameer Prisoner Support & Human Rights Association, B'Tselem בצלם, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch, what else do we need before we dare say that Israel is an apartheid state and the international community has a role to play in dismantling it.
