For our most recent finished project, we were given the task of creating an exhibition space as well as the exhibition pieces that would go into it. The focal point of the exhibition would have to be the abstract spatial models that we built ourselves. It was a challenging and a pretty fun task to do.

A journey towards a brand new identity

For our current project we are not only asked to design the space, but to also create a brand that would work effectively with the space. Things like the name of the brand, the logo and target audience should be considered while designing. I’m worrying about this now, my sense of naming is just terrible! Seriously!

These gradient colored geometric animal cutouts by designers Maik Perfahl and Wolfgang List make great lamp shades, masks or something entirely different! Available in various fun animal shapes like cat, fox, penguin and rabbit, you can really get creative with how you choose to showcase them. Check out Most Likely Shop to see more.

Swedish design student Nathalie Dackelid created an awesomely clever ash tabletop called Wooden Cloth that can be shortened or expanded by rolling or unrolling a series of prism-shaped wooden batons, held together with rubber cords.

“Instead of having drop-leaf construction where the hanging table tops close off one or two sides I wanted to create a use for the hanging parts, which turn out to look like a tablecloth when it’s contracted,” said the designer, who is studying at HDK Steneby in Sweden.

Coop Chicken House, a small restaurant located near Central Station in Newcastle. This was part of my summer assignment before I begun my course in uni. Thankfully the restaurant was not busy during the time I went, so I managed to take a couple of good photos.
