beautifully poetic things
waking up on a Saturday morning before anyone else in the house has
camping with friends and telling stories and laughing through the night in a tent or around the amber glow of the fire
the sound of rain hitting the glass windows and of cars driving down the rain-soaked road
going back to your childhood home and seeing how different it has become and then feeling your years settle into your bones
standing near a waterfall and feeling the droplets and moisture on your skin and in your hair
running your fingers through your hair to feel the ghosts of the ends after a haircut
the unanimous and unbroken silence of anticipation before a concert as everyone waits for the band to come out and the shouting to begin
holding hands with someone you like – possibly love – for the first time
the cleanness of the air when spring has moved in and draped the earth in her green flowered robes
coming home and crawling into bed after a day of adventures and energy-draining excitement
taking rides on ferris wheels at sunset just to see the honey-like light spill over the landscape
witnessing the emotion of mother nature in a thunderstorm in the middle of the night
taking roadtrips and listening to your favorite songs
looking in the mirror and realizing that this body is your vessel, that it was created oddly and unevenly for you and for your life
the sound of living, moving water in lakes, oceans, rivers, and streams
falling in love with a song or movie or book or moment
the feeling of satisfaction after finishing an art piece of poem
taking a walk through your neighborhood or gazing at the unfolding city lights and realizing that behind each house is a family with a story as complex as the stars
taking care of someone you love through sickness or a break up or anything that they’re going through
walking through a forest of ancient, towering trees and seeing the splotches of sunlight filter from the canopy to the floor
the feeling of lifting off in an airplane
loving and being loved – but loving first

wow I haven’t used this thing in more than two years. I want to get rid of it sometimes but I have over 6 thousand posts on here so I can bring myself to.
I’m trying to write more often. while writing my personal essays for my grad apps I realized how much my writing has digressed since I don’t ever write.
Now that 2017 is about to end, I’ve been reflecting a lot and damn this year has been so defeating. This year I felt like I digressed. I can’t exactly contribute it to just one thing, but there are certain things i’ve noticed about myself.
1. I’ve realized how sensitive and emotional I am. I didn’t use to think it was a quality I possessed, but now I see it as a defining characteristic. I don’t think its entirely a bad thing. I’m empathetic, I think I understand people well, and I’m caring. But sometimes I wish I didn’t well up every time I got frustrated and tried to explain why, or cry every time I think about how much I love certain people in my life. Maybe i’m more in tune with my feelings, maybe there are more people around me that i’m comfortable expressing my emotions with, or maybe its my birth control. Got to keep an eye on it, I don’t want it to influence my decision making skills.
2. Shit happened to me this year. My sweet aunt died. She was a bright light throughout my entire life. Gentle, selfless, strong, everything I aim to build during my lifetime. Losing her opened my eyes that this, is fucking life. I also got in a car crash that totaled my car. It really sucked and an expensive mistake. But I had all the love and support from my family and friends who reminded me that that is why I paid for insurance. My uncle told me that if money can fix it, then its not really a problem. Time is fleeting and I really need to be living each day the best I can. I’m also worried that when i’m old i’m going to regret how much time I spent staring at my screen.
3. I need to be more confident in myself. I’m always second guessing myself and I think its the root of a lot of my anxiety.
4. Family is the most important thing.
5. I need to grow up!!!!! but it is so expensive to :(
THIS IS SO FUCNKING FUNNY
