September 24: Kohlrouladen, an autumnal German comfort food (minced meat wrapped in cabbage - but with a vegetarian replacement for myself)

22/09/22 still sick, but feeling okay enough to make some ugly porridge for breakfast rediscovering some cheap college favourites in times of inflation : pasta with spiced up store-bought marinara and grated cheese

21/09/22 the beginning of fall and the blessings of meal prep: vegetarian hot and sour soup straight from the freezer

19/09/22 & 20/09/22 nothing really special, because I'm sick at home: french onion soup from scratch with homemad semolina pudding for dessert on Monday and scrambled eggs on Tuesday

18/09/22 more fall pizza, because it's so good

18/09/22 another rainy day, another day of canning : bell pepper and chili jelly

17/09/22 fall pizza with pears, brie and vegetarian salami

17/09/22 first harvest from our garden: elderberries and two apples

spent the whole day making spiced fig jam and elderberry-apple jam for Christmas

16/09/22 zucchini stir fry with feta and a store-bought apple fritter for dessert

14/09/22 autumn comfort food: Käsespätzle (unfortunately not from scratch )

13/09/22 still too busy to cook properly : leftover smashed potatoes again with canned lentil soup

12/09/22 smashed potatoes and dip

because food has become expensive

11/09/22 salmon from the grill and smashed potatoes. Grilled peaches and blueberries for dessert. elderberry flower lemonade. too tired to function. chores all day. #thedinnerdiaries

10/09/22 garden day . Planted blueberries, blackthorn, winter berry and hydrangeas. F grilled. Spicy tuna for me, t-bone for him. Smashed potatoes made by me and grilled peaches with blueberries for dessert. Got our heads cleared. Much needed.

09/09/22 Excruciatingly long day after excruciatingly short night. Workshops attended, our own workshop went well. Lots of exhausting small talk. Shopping had to be done. Rain. Thunder. Wet, cold feet. Cried tears for the Queen. Still no time to cook. So #starchfest it is... #fishburger

08/09/22 The Queen is dead and I feel strangely lost.

Haven't been feeling well today anyway, too much work this past week, preparing a 90 minute workshop for tomorrow while teaching. So I'm not ashamed to present today's dinner: instant ramen and canned lentil soup.
