Were you planning on becoming the guildpact? Is that why you were pushing for the implicit maze thing? Also! Waddya think of jace?
By me, no, other Guildmaster who’ve never trusted me, and neither would have I ever trusted anyone who’d want to become the new Guildpact. I planned to have perfectly designed and seemingly unbiased elemental artificial intelligence run the Transguild interaction, slowly easing the other Guilds into dropping their guards down and then letting Izzet League operate on more lax regulations. It was perfect! They would have never seen it coming!
But enough of that failed gambit. Jace Beleren is an adequate Living Guildpact, though his repeated abscesses and rampant procrastination halts most of Transguild activity to gridlock, which is marginally better than war.
May I ask what the most spectacularly failed experiment has been so far this year?
Vedalken Blastseeker Yakow Eteroglan the Luminous, proposed that condensed and purified aether could be used as viable alternative fuel source to elemental-, spirit-, and muscle-powered solutions. His distillery imploded last Seleni, earning him highest body count in past 3 years, several fortunes worth of equipment and infrastructure damage, as well as several posthumous charges by other Guilds.
Shame really, I thought he might’ve been onto something. Maybe in a different universe…
Why didn't you keep the guildpact going?
I am afraid it wasn’t matter of what I didn’t do but what I could have done at that point. I learned about Azorius Senate’s decision to overrule original Guildpact only when I arrived to my safe house location after tactical retreat from a fight with Nephilim (during the whole incident that spawned Rubbenbelt). Several months later Karlov heiress tried to establish non-magical peace treaty which lasted exactly as long as such venture could have last. (That is as soon as it became more beneficial to stop pretending to be on board with this faux-Guildpact.)
Could I have tried to use blackmail and threats to get six other Guildmaster’s play nice for several years longer? Not without making my presence in the background known and leaving myself vulnerable for such pleasantries in return.
Oh! That makes sense^^ I guess the stupid ones earn Darwin awards fairly quickly huh?
Surprisingly less common than one would expect. It takes certain kind of mixture of common sense, survival tactics, and pure genius to have a child while meeting League’s minimum quotas, so hereditary Guildmages tend to be taught do’s and dont’s of safe fringe science practice before they can even learn how to walk.
You do know that Izzet Clan has best life expectancy of any Goblin Clan on Ravnica, right?
Round and round it goes, which guild you pick no one knows.
This is an early attempt at animation using my tablet of the guilds
So I have a question bout-well some of your people have kids right? Are the kids counted as izzet or do they have to jump through the same hoops as everyone else?
Guildmage status is hereditary. Common practice, really. Many Guildmages prefer that the protection offered to them by their Guild would be extended to their children, and turn here at Izzet League we expect that parents, like any irresponsible Magewrights, will pass all their trade secrets to their children (And it’s such great habit to have spares just in case, you know?).
So, yes they count as Guild member, no they don’t need to go through usual channels (though we do screen and exam them before they are let anywhere near lab equipment, as required by Azorius regulations…) unless they choose to disown their Guildmage status in adulthood and change their mind later.
Is this blog still alive?
…ello? Hello? Hello?
Hello!
Strange, it appears there was some kind of disturbance in the Aether as if some large object was moved forcefully through infinities. Well signal seems to be working again, so yes, this blog is active.
I hope the mun is feeling better and that nothing particularly disastrous hit nivix this new year^^
((I appreciate it.))
Wouldn’t recommend betting on it. Our Statistics and Divinations Department have declared that by all plausible probability models it’s a miracle that Nivix hasn’t spontaneously ceased to exist yet. “Too many explosive substances and temperaments per square meter,” they say.
Have a Nivvy New Year!
I doubt they were ever related to your sort of dragons. They were ah... Made, essentially, by my ancestors to protect ourselves. And its not so much dependence as much as symbiosis.
I recommend you be more careful with your words now. Not so long ago my kind was treated as undisputed Gods of this plane. Your words would be considered blasphemous by some.
Actually if my memory serves right there was even a play about me eating someone alleged of saying something along those lines.
You're about... A tenth larger than ramoth, the largest we've got. And yeah, they're intelligent. They've got short memories but well, that's what the riders are for
They let themselves be rode on? That’s just embarrassing. And are dependent on other beings? Vulgar.
They must have split off from the family tree long ago.
It was a compliment, I promise. And I'm from... Well lets just say I'm from *very* far away ((I'm imagining pern and ravnica in the same universe cause why not))
((Probably same Multiverse, since Magic uses it’s as base premise?))
And I am larger than Dragons from where you are from? Interesting. Are these Dragons intelligent?
... Well. You're the biggest dragon I've ever seen and that's saying something
...are you trying to insult me or praise me?I am the only Dragon one could hope to see on Ravnica. Rest of my specie was exterminated, and what average Rarvnicans refer to as ‘Dragons’ these day are nothing but overgrown breed of quadrupedal Drakes. One of these days Simic Combine will breed bipedal apes and I will refer to them exclusively as humans! Then we’ll see who will have the last laugh on the matter!
Or are you perhaps saying you are not from Ravnica? If so you have my attention, mortal.
Niv-Mizzet ponders some of the most important questions in the Multiverse.
Such as ‘What should I have for breakfast?’ and 'When will Chandra ever wear her goggles?’
Feel free to fill in his thoughtbubble XD
