Lapis very suddenly locked her jaw around Jasper's in a strong, hearty kiss. The azure Gem smiled small as she kissed Jasper, her hand on the back of her head. She pulled away from Jasper with a smirk. "Peridot dared me to do it~ She knew I'd be fine with it 'cause I love you so much". She kissed Jasper on the Gem with a sweet chuckle. (Not a thread ~ lxpxsgxms)

Like whiplash, bewilderment coursed through Jasper when she was suddenly grabbed and kissed. Her eyes widened, and instinctively, her hand reached out to grasp a far smaller one, either to defend herself or push the other away. Soon though, Jasper realized who it was, and although she was still tense, her grip on the hand grew more tender, and she leaned into the kiss.

When they pulled away, Jasper snorted at the sly look on Lapis’ face. She faintly flushed and grunted, “Love you too, but be more careful. I was this close to accidentally poofing you.”

A something carried on massive wings glided towards Jasper. The feathers of the wings looked like a night sky, rippling and shimmering as he flew. Suddenly, he pitched towards her and just before colliding with Jasper, he vanished. A voice in her ear and a tap on her shoulder from behind. "Psst - hey, mortal," he said.

At this time of night, most creatures were fast asleep. Jasper didn’t expect for anything to be out here at Mask Island, not as she walked along the shoreline, reminiscing over times long gone. She had been contemplating sitting down and watching the waves roll over under the shine of the moonlight when it appeared.

Jasper hadn’t been entirely sure what it was, either an oversized bird or a corrupted creature gone wrong. Nonetheless, as soon as it came into her vision, it soared forward as though it was going to collide with her. Her eyes widened and her arms rose immediately to protect her chest. However, no thud came. Whatever had been coming towards her disappeared.

And then, it whispered into her ear, voice low and causing her to whirl around, raising her arm as though she was going to hit it. She couldn’t see it though, not here and with her poor sense of vision. Jasper therefore opted out for listening closely, relying on her other instincts.

“Who are you? What are you?” She snarled, “And what do you want?”

Chibiusa grinned, doing a little twirl in her luscious pink coat, cute, white, fluffy ruffles along the top of it. Chibiusa loved it.

It was a shame that the other girl didn’t know where she had gotten the coat, but it was so pretty that Lola decided to let it slide. Lola herself stood by the other in a pretty rosy dress, a small grin resting on her lips. So far, she liked this girl. She had never seen her before at this playground. Was she new? Lola had no idea, and honestly, she didn’t really care as long as the other was as cool as she looked.

“Your dad has a way better sense of fashion than mine, then.” Lola remarked, resisting the urge to cringe as she thought about her father’s tie collection. They were all just so hideous, it was evident that Lola did not acquire her eye for style from him. She was pretty sure that this girl’s dad didn’t have an ugly tie collection.

Before their conversation could come to a sudden end, Lola stepped closer and somewhat circled the other, like an elegant vulture, before asking, “What’s your name? I’m sure you know who I am, but I’ll tell you anyway. My name is Lola Loud, and I was wondering if you’d want to go play on the swings with me. Since we’re the cutest ones here, I thought that it would be perfect for us to hang out together!”

Prehnite smiled happily at her compliments, nodding as the Quartz gave her compliments. She checked her agenda to see if she had free days.

“Three days from now I have a free day in which I won’t be practicing with my group. I could come and throw a movie night with you guys, you included”

She already had a vague idea of what to bring…

“Ah, before you travel all the way back and take hours… I have a warp pad in the basement. I think they made you walk here because I would poof myself out of getting scared if you’d have suddenly appeared in my basement, heh…”

Jasper allowed for Prehnite to have a moment to check her agenda. Once she did, a date was relayed to Jasper, at which she slowly nodded, considering the offer. After she briefly thought about it, she concluded, “I’ll have to ask, I don’t know what is going on that day. We have been busy with everything in between Homeworld attacking, but taking one night off shouldn’t be a problem... I’ll let you know.”

After millennia of fighting relentlessly with little to no down time, Jasper had learned to appreciate moments of peace, and would take them whenever she could. She didn’t do this because she was lazy, but because it made more sense to have them every once in awhile so that she would have a chance to recuperate. It made the team stronger.

Upon the offer, Jasper rose a brow and then snorted. Lingering close to Prehnite for the sake of following her into the basement, she teasingly remarked, “Bastards, making me walk all the way over here instead of just warning you I’d come. I’ll give them a piece of my mind later. Alright, I’ll bite, take me to this mystery warp pad.”

Jasper grunted at Pearl and made to grab the little thing - yet it was too fast and pounced the Quartz, grabbing onto her Gem. Jasper thrashed and snapped at the creature, but it was a hopeless cause. The Quartz fell back, and with a bang that shook the earth, poofed.

  Odyssey’s head popped up off of the couch. Amethyst was napping. Odyssey had felt that something really, really, REALLY bad just happened to her mother - so she summoned her bow and went running towards the Warp Pad. With a bright flash, she appeared in the forest with her bow drawn. She saw her mother’s gem laying on the ground, the little creature chewing on it. She knocked an arrow and impaled the little thing through the side and poofed it. She ran over and scooped her mother’s gem into the palm of her hand. She kissed it and pocketed it and looked over at Pearl. “I knew I’d be needed”.

It all happened so fast. She didn’t realize that she was screaming until she could only hear the echo of her own voice resound in the forest. Pearl’s eyes were wide when she saw Jasper’s gem clatter to the ground. She had been almost positive that Jasper had the corrupted beast under control, but she had been wrong.

Before she could so much as consider dashing forward and grabbing the gem, the creature reared back and snarled at her. It looked like it was ready to attack again, but an arrow suddenly rushed through it and caused for it to poof. Pearl glanced to the side and saw Astrid coming forward, taking ahold of her mother’s gem and pocketing it.

“You- How did you know- Is she-” Pearl began, but there was no time. She heard other corrupted gems start to surround them so she leapt forward and quickly bubbled the one already on the ground.

Another beast leapt forward, but this time, Pearl was ready. She sliced the threat and caused for its form to fall. Pearl swiftly grabbed it and bubbled it like the last one, before coming up back-to-back with Astrid. Bracing her spear, she warned her.

“There are five, I think! Let’s split them up! Be careful, Astrid!”

Pearl couldn’t let guilt over what happened to Jasper consume her right now. They had to fight.

Calcite had been watching the waves while listening to the Pearl, humming as she took in the new information. That explained why so many gems went missing when they went on missions to Earth. They had obviously encountered the Crystal Gems and been too much of a threat to not be harvested. Altering her uniform had certainly saved her life today.

When Pearl apologized to her, Calcite turned to be better facing her with a nod, “Homeworld gems can be rather persistent sometimes. I’m sure you dealt with them as swiftly as you were planning to with me. I never even thought a pearl could have a weapon and that threw me a bit.” She paused for a beat while pretending to consider her question, really only one thing coming to mind in that moment. “Why exactly were you sitting here by yourself? You seemed upset and that was why I approached you in the first place.”

Sucking in a sharp breath, Pearl did her best to not feel insulted at the remark about her weapon. She had to remind herself that Calcite’s ignorance was not her fault. Homeworld taught her to not know any better, and she had never joined the Crystal Gems so she had never been exposed to anything different.

“Well, no. Violence is seldom our go-to tactic. Rose was very adamant on dealing with adversaries with words before fists. While we have had to physically restrain some Homeworld gems, most have run away and some have joined our forces. I don’t believe we’ve had to shatter anybody who attacked us thus far,” Pearl explained, and then corrected, “Every gem can have a weapon, some are simply not allowed to draw theirs.”

The next question threw her off and made her shamefully look to the side. Pearl knew that there was absolutely no way that she was going to confine her feelings with a stranger, she could hardly manage that with those close to her. However, she could tell Calcite the truth.

 “I was upset, but I am fine now. I was not as useful during a mission as I thought I would be so I was a bit miserable. No matter though, that is in the past and like I said, my teammates should be here soon and will be pleased to meet you, I am sure.”

“Oh, scary!” Garnet taunted, catching the other whip in her gauntlet. She couldn’t feel any of its power now, so it was easily to remain confident. She honestly thought she was done for when the Agate began to pull her down, but to her surprise, she barely budged. 

Weren’t Agate’s supposed to be able to easily control subordinates? No wonder none of the Amethyst’s were afraid of her anymore. They must have realized the fear that came with Agates had little to back it up. They could probably rise up and bubble her if they really wanted to.

Garnet’s hands were busy, so she jumped up and came down at the Agate with a powerful kick. Knocked back, Holly was unprotected enough for Garnet to drop the whips and reach out, pinning the gem’s chest down with a fist.

“Tell me which way to Pink Diamond’s chambers.” Garnet demanded. “Think carefully before you answer. Realize…the information you have is the only reason I’m keeping your form physical.” She pressed down slightly harder so that Holly would understand just how easily Garnet could poof her.

Before Holly knew what was happening, she slipped and was on her way down to the ground. She yelped and braced herself for the rough thud that met her, causing for her entire body to shudder. Her whips! They went soaring across the room, leaving her defenseless as they clattered against the wall.

Holly did not have the opportunity to reach back and summon another whip. A heavy weight rested itself on her back, prompting a shaky gasp out of her. She realized int that moment that she was utterly trapped, and Garnet only emphasized that when she pressed down slightly harder, threatening her while she asked a question.

She bit down on the inside of her cheek. A wave of panic rolled over her and fear coiled at the bottom of her stomach. Not only was she in a feeble position that could easily get her poofed — stars, she had never been poofed before — but her gem was also visible, leaving it vulnerable and easy to shatter.

This couldn’t be it, this couldn’t be it.

 “Let me go, please,” Holly began to flail, clearly frightened while she exclaimed, “Please! For the love everything, just let me go and I’ll lead you there! I don’t- I don’t want to be shattered!”
