Fuck It... Monday

Im in a fuck it, kind of mood today, so honestly. Fuck it. Pull out a large pitcher, 2 bottles of a red wine, doesn't really matter what kind or if there the same. Dump those bad boys in. Add ice, cut up some oranges, apples, a lime or two, i like pineapple if you happen to have it, fruit. Just put some fucking fruit in there. Mix it up. Then dump in some brandy, if you want to measure about a cup. Eye ball it really. For shits and giggles add some rum. NOT A SPICED RUM! Then i usually add in some OJ. Congratulations, you just made some fuck it sangria. Drunk mother fucker.

Almost Friday!?! LETS TAKE SHOTS!

I've had a steady intake of alcohol over the last 3 days and today is my first fully sober day. Its weird. Even though I should slow down for a day or two, that's just not going to happen. Tonight, i purpose we take a shot or three x2. 

ORANGE FIZzz

1 1/2 oz Absolute Citron Vodka

1/2 oz Peach Schnapps 

3 oz Red Bull 

1 - 2 splashes Orange Juice

Serious Wednesday

"Three measures of Gordon's, one of vodka, half a measure of Kina Lillet. Shake it very well until it's ice-cold, then add a large thin slice of lemon peel. Got it?" 

If you don't know what this delightful combination of liquors are then you're obviously not a James Bond fan. Though yes, he usually orders a vodka martini shaken, not stirred; but this lovely drink known as a Vesper martini made its appearance in Casino Royale. (If you have not seen it, make this drink and watch) 

For this drink you will need:

Gordon's - Gin (substitute Bombay Sapphire if need be)

Vodka - (Grey Goose)

Kina Lillet - a dry vermouth made in France (should be easy to find in LARGE liquor stores)

Lemon Peel

Ice

Since this drink is shaken you will need a shaker or just 2 glasses that fit together well without leaking. In your shaker filled with ice, add 3 parts Gin to 1 part vodka to 1/2 Kina Lillet. Shake till icy cool. Poor into deep champagne glass and garnish with a twist of lemon peel. 

NOW DRINK!

Flip Cup

Simple game, but DOES require a particular set of skills and a few brain cells... but by the end of the game you will be a little sideways depending on how many times you play and if you play with beer or liquor. This game can be played in teams or just one on one. Personally while playing alone I prefer shots of beer. When I play in a group I will go ahead and take shots of pretty much whatever is closest to my hand. What you will need:

cups (red solo cups, non of that glass shit)

table (beer pong tables work best, perfect width and length)

beer or liquor

people

To start, pick your teams (unless going solo), everyone gets a cup in front of them with there choice of beer or liquor. If you have a combination of people with beer and people with liquor its best if everyone has the same amount in all cups. Now to start the game off you decide which end of the table will start, then the first two players on opposing team pick up their drinks, cheers, hit the table and slam em' back. Here's the fun part, when your drink is finished put your cup at the edge of the table, then start trying to flip the cup. My method involves bending of the knees so your arm when brought out at a 90 degree angle is just under the cup, and using your index finger give the cup a forceful tap. Usually it takes a few tries when it's your first time playing. Once the first person on said team is complete with their cup flipped the next player may begin the same process and so on and so fourth.

Wined down Monday

As you may not know I am a college student, a college student like most, on a budget. I've got an easy Monday though, with only one class early in the morning so my day is usually wrapped up around noon. For the rest of my day I like to do a little studying, grab a coffee at my local Caribou, clean my house and then just relax with a nice movie or tv show and a box of wine. Yes, a BOX, of wine. I get four bottles of wine wrapped up into one convenient container that is easy to open and store nicely in a fridge without taking up to much space (only white wines and dessert wines for the refrigerator people). And don't judge me for this last part, but its easier to pour when you've had a few especial if your me and have it sitting on your coffee table less than two feet away. Now these are some of my favorites listed in no particular order (yes, one is a bottle but that's because they don't sell it in box form):

1.  Franzia: Rhine

If you like a nice to the point chilled wine, this is a good one. Its not something that you would serve with a big hardy meal or anything but if you were in a cheese and cracker or lighter dips and such this is a deliciously crisp wine to get the pallet going. 

2. French Rabbit: Pinot Noir 

If your like me and have those days where you want to eat everything you see, and you do, then this is a great wine to have with your everything but the kitchen sink meal plan. This wine will go with anything, though it has a mixed berry aroma. It is a little more expensive though, 10 bucks will only get you a liter.

3.  Bota Box: Riesling

(for this one I copy and pasted the description from the website because its perfect) 

'Bota Box Riesling has aromas of sweet melon, ripe stone fruit and floral notes.  On the palate, white nectarine and pear flavors finish with a zing of green apple.' <-- clickable 

4. Twisted: Old Vine Zinfandel (bottle)

I enjoy this Zinfandel over many (that I've tried) because of its spice. It gives you a little kick, mind you my chronic heartburn already does that, but this one doesn't get you ion the back of the throat or the stomach. It actually gets the spice to the tip of your tongue where you would normally taste salt or even a bitter taste.

I've been bad...

Alright, I've been pretty bad about posting things... I've been much better at actually drinking vs. posting fun drinks and games that are my favorite. this week I will be posting everyday. maybe even twice a day. hmm.... yeah probably not that last one. but for sure I will be posting for the next seven days in a row. If I f*ck up and skip a day, you may hang me by my toes till the blood rushes to my head... then please get me down, I'd rather not die.

Saturday Is Staber-day!

Why we call Saturday, Staber-day??? I couldn't tell you. haha. Today I am hungover, day 2. So of course this means I need another drink! I'm going with one of my favorite things, and its very simple. You can even leave out of of these ingredients and its just as good! Jameson and Ginger Ale. Jameson, a delicious (in my opinion) Irish whiskey. 

How to:

Put these things in a glass over ice. If you need more direction than that, then you probably shouldn't be drinking till your brain has fully developed. (age 25) GOOD LUCK!

p.s if you have yet to figure it out; if you leave out the ginger ale and just go for the Jameson over ice, its tits. Definitely a drink to put some hair on your chest.

Almost Friday!?! LETS TAKE SHOTS!

Close enough right?? why not start the weekend a little early with a shot or three? Here's 3 easy Vodka shots to make...

1. Apple Pie:

1oz Vodka

1oz Apple Juice

Dash of Cinnamon 

Directions: Pour vodka and apple juice into a shot glass, now, put a dash of cinnamon on your tongue and throw that shot back. (Make sure to shake your head to make sure you get all the cinnamon off your tongue.)

2. Lemon Drop:

2oz Vodka

1/2oz Lemon Juice

1 Sugar Cube

Directions: Pretty self explanatory... but... Start with your shot glass, add your sugar cube to the bottom, muddle it up a little bit, then add your lemon juice then vodka. Swirl it around then GO! (Adding the lemon juice first helps dissolve the sugar.) 

3. Estonian Forest-Fire

1oz Vodka

10-12 drops Tabasco sauce

1 Slice Kiwi

Directions: Get your shot glass, add your vodka then the Tabasco. DRINK IT DOWN! Chase with a slice or two of kiwi. This will surely set your night ablaze!

Serious Wednesday

Wednesdays in my family are known as serious Wednesdays. So for the hell of it we make serious drinks. Think business professional. (ha) For this serious Wednesday, were talkin' a Manhattan. For this drink you will need Sweet Vermouth, Bourbon Whiskey, Angostura bitters and Maraschino cherries. 

1. Combine 3/4oz Vermouth, 2 1/2oz Bourbon and 1 dash Angostura over 2-3 cubes of ice. 

2. Stir this drink! Carefully. 

3. Finally add 1 Maraschino cherry. (you can also add a twist of orange)

            Now Enjoy!

Everyday is a day to enjoy a drink. Occasionally, we enjoy to get a little f*ucked up. Here is a great way to get hammered with a group of friends and laugh hysterically. Its a win win!
