I miss her. She could be loud, hard to handle and even angry but she was mine. I miss you Elsie.
Getting #BlackRock to change/exit the real estate market in NYC is a massive win for New Yorkers and #ZohranMamdani.
And billionaires weaponizing data, profiting off the deregulation of energy suppliers for profit...and on and on and on
A few months before he passed away in 2003, a 74 year old children’s television host sat down in the same studio where he had filmed 895 episodes over 33 years and recorded one last message. It wasn’t for children. It was for the adults who had grown up watching him.
Fred Rogers hosted Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood on American public television from 1968 to 2001. For over three decades he walked into the same set, changed into a cardigan and sneakers, looked directly into the camera, and spoke to children as if each one of them was the only person in the room. He never raised his voice, never talked down to his audience, and never rushed a single moment.
In that final recording, he looked into the camera one last time and said “I’m just so proud of all of you who have grown up with us. And I know how tough it is some days to look with hope and confidence on the months and years ahead. But I would like to tell you what I often told you when you were much younger. I like you just the way you are.”
He passed away from stomach cancer on February 27, 2003. He was 74.
Godless Soviets now run the Republican Party because conservatives are easily persuaded clowns and their religious beliefs are performative.
A glimpse of her
A simple moment in a simple day
Yet so profound and meaningful
Sustains me in the truest way
The retail holiday that is Valentine's Day is just that. A marketing profit machine. It does, however necessitate special heartfelt recognition of those we cherish. To declare to the world our love and devotion as the heart desires and the brain questions. So it is for me, to scream from the tallest mountain, my truest honor in declaring my undying love and unshakable trust to you, my best friend and only one... Happy Valentine's Day Amy.
I know not of god
I cannot trust the church of man
In these times and on this day
My soul weeps for mankind
But I hold and protect the most precious to me
She who cannot be replaced
So if it is to be a fight for survival
Lo, beware those who would seek her harm
How dare the darkness
To intrude on the light
To cast a shroud on the hope
To seek silence among the songs
Too long thoughts of freedom have begged my fancy
I set fire to the wick
I continue the work of my father
"Renee was one of the kindest people I’ve ever known,” said Renee Good's mother. “She was extremely compassionate. She’s taken care of people all her life. She was loving, forgiving and affectionate. She was an amazing human being.”
