Skyping Home {Cam&Gemma}
Cameron settled into his seat next to Gemma, fiddling around with the webcam the staff at Oasis lent them to be able to skype back home. Since coming to Oasis, Cam’s mind had always been with his mother. After everything that had happened over these few years, he was always worried about her. He had taken care of her and Gem for so long, it was weird to be away from her for this long. He was lucky to have Gemma here with him but that left her on her own.
“Ready?” He asked, wrapping an arm around her shoulders and pressed the skype call button - letting it ring until eventually it stopped. His mother popped up on the screen, a smile across Cameron’s lips. “Hey mum!” He cooed. She smiled in response, though he could tell she was obviously tired. “Hey babies.”
The face of their mother had haunted Gemma’s thoughts since she arrived at Oasis, the guilt of having Cameron and herself away ate her up inside. Even though she knew Cameron took care of their mother the most but she still felt a very strong protection and loving care for her. Ever since their father, their mother had never been the same - dark thoughts plaguing her thoughts that only made Gemma feel sick. She just hoped she made herself busy while they were away.
“As I’ll ever be.” She shot a small smile at him and leaned into his side, watching the screen load and their mother coming on. “Mum!” She exclaimed happily in response. She noticed the heavy bags under her eyes but the smile on her lips was all Gemma could pay attention to.

“Before you scold me, it’s not my fault. Someone spiked the drink last night.”
“I will still scold you for continuing to drink it. But whatever - you’re a moron.” He playfully smacked his head while hungover. “Better?”

“I feel like shit.”
“God. Did you drink?”

“Half Top Gun, half zombie. I can’t believe I actually got this to work.” He said, doing a little spin.
“Nerd.” She giggled.

He sighed in relief hearing that. “Really? She’s doing okay?” He shrugged his shoulders. “I’m sorry I just… I get worried about her. I get worried about all of you.”
“I know. I know you do.... but this is the whole point, Cam.” She said softly. “This is the whole point of why you need to be here as well as myself. So we can relax and not be so alert about everything and on top of responsibilities.” She smiled and rubbed his arm. “So relax, brother.”

“Im the ships asshole.” He told her. “105 is this way.” He said leading her to the room.
“Ooo. Better stay away from you then.” She teased, but followed him anyway. “How long have you been around here for?”

“Seems like everything I do is never enough.” He squeezed her one last time before pulling away, a concerned look going across his face. “How was mum? She wasn’t too bad with you leaving? Is she-?”
“Cam.” She said sternly, before sighing and pulling away to see his facial expression. “Woah woah it’s okay, Cam. Mum is okay. She was alright at the airport, she’s gotten back onto her medication again so to say she’s been acting happier is an understatement. She’s also been back working again so I think she’ll be fine.”

“Stop. You know I would scratch something up to give to you.” He kissed the top of her head and rubbed her bag, a small smirk and chuckle on his lips. “Fine. Did you fly okay besides that? First time on a plane is nerve-wracking.”
“Hush. It’s okay. You already have done enough for me.” She rested her chin on his chest and looked up at him. “Yeah it was alright. I was more scared getting a train for the first time ever with mum to the airport. After that, I just had it down.”

“Since im feeling a bit nice today, ill show you to your room. Whats your room number?”
“Oh? Does that mean you’re not always nice?” She looked down at her room key. “105.”

“I assume you just got here, correct me if im wrong.”
“Nope you’re 100% correct. My brother was supposed to meet me but I don’t see him anywhere. I don’t even know how to find my room.” She chuckled.
