@crossurthoughtlessheart wrote my baby Marina and Emmrich for me 😭😭😭. I love it and I love you
This One
@starfleetteddybear I adore you. I love you. I always have and always will. Seems kind of funny I started writing Emmrook because of you and gave my first piece to you like a year before this. Anyway Evie is the most special girl in the world to me
Every time @svanha messages me and says it's my turn in her queue I scream. It couldn't have come at a better time as I was completing Secrets, Silence, and Sorrow. I am so utterly in love with these beautiful masterpieces!
Secrets, Silence, & Sorrow
A part of the @thefadediscordserver AU Zine.
Rating: M for Mature
CW: Angst, Body Horror, Depictions of Body Horror, AU, Dark, Knight in Shining Armor (ish) , Major Character Death
Words: 34,798 (Chapters 4/4, Complete)

I promise this is the last time I’m going to share this but I’m still very much sitting here giggling to myself.
@sofiemystique and her little accomplices in @thefadediscordserver (I know who you all are…) rocked my world with this cameo so obviously I had to add some Sable and Allette emotes to it as I process human emotion for the first time in years.
A gift for the ever wonderful @queenmuzz for the @thefadediscordserver's Secret Santa event!
Inspired by the prompt “near death experiences” and the request for smut and angst (the angst may be light, but I hope still enjoyable lmao)
Explicit. 2,897 words
Summary
“What were you thinking?”
Emmrich's anger was not a loud thing. Instead, it simmered just underneath the surface, a quiet roil as he frowned in displeasure at Rook's latest display.
“What? No one’s dead now, are they?” She rolled her eyes at him, sitting on his desk, crossing her feet at her ankles with the sort of casualness he feared would become the death of her. “Well, besides those Venatori, but that was kind of the point.”
A headache steadily built at the back of his eyes, needling at the base of his skull at Rook’s flippant attitude — to her own life no less!
“Indeed,” Emmrich managed to say through gritted teeth. A breath in. A breath out. Still, his eye twitched. “However, there surely were ways to do that without almost killing yourself, darling.”
—
Or, Emmrich is most displeased with Rook’s recklessness getting her nearly killed again and again. Rook reminds him she’s very much still alive with a distraction.

“Indeed,” Emmrich managed to say through gritted teeth. A breath in. A breath out. Still, his eye twitched. “However, there surely were ways to do that without almost killing yourself, darling.”
“No.”
Ah, and this was where Rook dug her heels in, ever stubborn, and yet still infuriatingly beautiful. It was practically a talent.
Emmrich raised a brow. “No?”
“They nearly had you.” She scowled, a furrow of displeasure on her features despite the fiery gleam in her eyes. “Do you expect me to just do nothing about that?”
A breath in.
A breath out.
“What I expect is that you exercise at least some caution, even on my behalf. There is a league of difference between helping me and risking your life by physically standing in front of a Venatori blade. It landed mere inches away from your heart. If I hadn't been there, you would have—”
“But you were! And it barely even scarred!” she retorted, voice rising without meaning to. She went silent before huffing, trying again to keep her voice measured. “You and I — we're both okay, Emmrich. We risk our lives every day. This really doesn't have to be an issue.”
“Is that so? And how many more blades would you fall on before it becomes one then? Five? Ten? A hundred more?”
Her face turned hard. “As many as I have to.”
Another vision of Rook taking a blade — a spell, a curse, a dagger, everything, anything — for him, the blood draining from her face as she collapsed, and the world narrowing down to her inert body, reckless and foolish, life rapidly pooling around her in dark streaks of terrible red. The fear of losing her gripped Emmrich's chest as though the blade had struck true on him instead. His eyes burned, though he refused to let the tears shed, frustration building behind his throat.
Whatever expression he made had Rook’s own softening, reaching out to take his hand in hers, squeezing it as she threaded their fingers together. Her voice was gentle when she said, “We’ll be fine.”
Here is my gift for the lovely @lilacvolkarin from @thefadediscordserver's secret santa event!
I had so much fun drawing your Rook snuggled up with Emmrich <3
I painted this for @thefadediscordserver's Emmrich themed calendar!
It was an absolutely pleasure being paired with the amazingly talented @starfleetteddybear. She wrote a deeply heartfelt story that goes along with this. Be on the lookout!! I will reblogging her story to the moon and back.
My original idea was just "April's showers bring May's flowers", but it quickly morphed into something else. The past two years has been very rough on me, and I am not the same person I once was. I experienced a great loss, and even more hardships on top of it that I am still going through. I only truly started to process it all when Emmrich came into my life with Dragon Age: The Veilguard. To watch him be so open with his fear and grief, he taught me to accept this pain and not to let it hold me down. 'To live with grace and fervor while we may." Because this life is cruel, and most times, much shorter than we'd like.
As much as I credit Emmrich for finally clawing my way out of my grief, there's much more to it. The Fade server is honestly one of my life's greatest achievements. The community that we have made is the most supportive and welcoming I've ever been a part of, and I am so honored to host it. I may have created the server, but you all made it what it is today. Every day I watch you all with your unhinged antics and aggressive positivity, it fills me with such love and hope. This world is so much brighter with all of you in it.
And most important of all are the friends I've made along the way. Their love and support has allowed me to accept the person I've become, and move towards who I want to be. To move past my grief and find out who I am again. It is my honor to be by your sides, and I am so grateful to be a part of your lives. @ermagerdperpehs @paramortality @sofiemystique @starfleetteddybear @kirain I love you all so much.
My tags are not all-inclusive. If I have talked to you or see you often in the server, you hold a special place in my heart.
Thank you everyone 💗
With @thefadediscordserver calendar finally hot off the presses, I'm finally able to share this piece. What I'm considering my magnum opus, just in time to close out this year.
To have been a part of this experience is, for want of better, more elaborate phrasing, a life changer. And I couldn't be more grateful than I am now for the friends that encouraged me, welcomed me, and wanted me to be part of this magnificent community collaboration. I couldn't have asked for a better partner in this project than @scuttlingcrab !!!
I am leaving this year with seldom few the same people I entered it with. Emmrich's fandom found me amongst the lot I thought I was content with and said, "you are so much more than this." It costed me people and spaces I thought I would be in my life forever. It costed me my comfort zone and my resignation to the quiet edge of every social circle. But for everything I lost this year, this fandom has replaced it and rebuilt so much more wonderful things in the gaps. They revived barren soil and poisoned wells the past had long cursed anything to thrive in my heart. People who barely knew me if at all have cheered me on simply bc I was there. I've made friends who challenge me, inspire me, comfort, and genuinely want me in their life for no real reason or expectations... just for the vibe I bring to the function or something like that. I'll never wrap my head around what makes me likeable to them, but by the Allfather do I want to give them my best every day. Kintsugi would be so lucky to hold a candle to beauty and healing all these amazing people have brought into my life.
This painting wouldn't exist without any of them. Maybe it's a good one, maybe it isn't. But I have the courage to create and share my work again because of this incredible fandom. And because of Emmrich. I hope Nick and Sylvia know what an incredible thing they've created via just one fictional man. I have my spark back.
I could tag a million names, all deserving of the love and due credit for being so good to me. I'm so grateful to my Cryptlings of The Fade.
@deny-the-issue @ermagerdperpehs @sofiemystique you three were the first. Every day, you three inspire and stand beside me and make me want to be a better friend, artist, mod, and person. You all have taught me what friends should really look like and that my own nagging self esteem and the expectations others hold of me doesn't disqualify me from enjoying the good life has to offer or the way I live it. This painting was for the calendar, but it's also for you. There is a word amongst the Norse vocab that refers to a badass. A warrior who is reckless and free spirited but shows great compassion and honour and is one of the most loyal of kin in someone's life. It's one of the highest compliments of the old sagas. The word is "Drengr." You three are my drengr. Thank you for everything this year. I love you guys more than I can possibly say. As I live and breathe that will never change. 💙
The March of the Forgotten transpired once every Firstfall. By then, the autumnal foliage had passed its peak; bright colours already fading from senescence, the beauty of its transition another harrowing reminder of the toll of time.
Where the Veil was thinnest, in a dense forest near the edge of the Necropolis, spirits, both old and new, strode through mists of quietude. The procession wasn’t met with profligacy, as was the norm for Nevarran pageantries, but with deep reverence. Above all, it was an opportunity to see history resurrected, to mingle with the dead.
A short distance away, Emmrich Volkarin stood, observing the sea of transparent figures drifting past him. Manfred was at his side, emerald eyes glittering. His ward was transfixed, for once his curiosity subdued, not even a hiss escaped him.
Emmrich scanned the thinning crowd, gaze calculating, always searching for two faces in particular. His parents. Yet luck had never been in his favour, no matter how often he paid his respects.
When the last spirit finally dissipated, its embers rejoining the currents of the Fade, Manfred’s shoulders wilted in disappointment. He turned to Emmrich, expression dim.
“I’m afraid that was the last of them.” Emmrich’s lips quivered, fighting to keep his smile from faltering.
A soft hiss, bones rattling as Manfred pointed to where the spirits had been. His naivety just about shattered Emmrich’s heart.
“That won’t be necessary, Manfred. They’ll come next year, surely.” He lied. Though was it for Manfred’s consolation, or his own?
My writing submission for the @thefadediscordserver's 2026 Emmrich calendar! Art by the wonderful and incredibly talented @paramortality 💀❤️
Y'all do not understand the vision and TALENT my friend @scuttlingcrab has! I was so honoured at the chance to work with them and create this piece for @thefadediscordserver calendar. 💙💙💙 They deserve unimaginable credit and love for all their work and what a joy they are! Thank you for sharing this opportunity with me, my friend! 🫂😍
It is my honour and my pleasure to show you the the result of a fantastic collab with BloodhoundOmega (bluesky) for the @thefadediscordserver Emmrich calendar project.
While BloodHoundOmega created this gorgeous Emmlich masterpiece, my part was the writing for the scene that you can see here.
We got the month march, so we decided to show the transition of winter to spring with icy pastels.
The month of August for the @thefadediscordserver Emmrich calendar. I admit I got a little carried about the time that I decided to paint moroccan lamps as a compositional element.
This was done in collaboration with the writing of @qoboe41 and the whole collection is on AO3 (somewhere) ((I don't really use it that much))
For @thefadediscordserver I got my sweet love @starfleetteddybear. And considering it has been just over a year since I posted my first Emmrook piece which you inspired bby (you made me love Emmrich and brought me my Marina who has given me so much joy) it was my honor and privilege to get you. Our friendship is so special to me as are you.
Evie picked up her phone as she browsed today's schedule while sipping her morning tea. Being NYC's most popular match maker had its perks, though it kept her more than a little busy. She flicked through her appointments, her texts, and her emails from new potential clients.
Many of the men who sought her help were rejected at their application. Helping certain men prey on helpless women wasn't really her style. No, she only took on those who craved genuine connection. Those seeking a true partner in the fast paced world of today's online dating shenanigans.
Experience had taught her what to look out for, and she was more than picky as she sifted through photos and intros like sorting yesterday's recycling.
But she paused as she clicked on the last message, a handsome older gentleman staring up at her with a reserved smile. There was something in his eyes, in the dignified set of his shoulders as he posed. And she found herself swallowing down another gulp of tea as she tried to quench her suddenly dry throat.
Professor Emmrich Volkarin
She mouthed his name silently as she scanned over his profile. Fifty three years old, life long bachelor, and his list of requirements for a potential partner was one of the shortest she had ever seen.
“This one…” she whispered to herself as her violet eyes widened. She pressed her fingers to her lips, suppressing a giggle as she delved into the details of this fascinating gentleman.
“I wonder how no one has snatched him up yet–” He was more than charming even through the limitations of her phone screen, and those soulful eyes seemed to stare right into her as she tucked an errant strand of hair behind her ear. Some girl– or guy, was going to be lucky with this match. And it was now her personal mission to make sure Professor Volkarin found the love of his life.
Even if Evie had never extended the same courtesy to herself.
I was so happy to create this October piece. Drawing this amazing Professor was an absolute pleasure. This artwork is part of The Fade’s Emmrich Calendar @thefadediscordserver and I’m still a bit in awe that I got to contribute.
