Seeing his friend and partner lying in the hospital bed, motors and gears whirring to life as she started to move her new mechanical body, brought sadness to his eyes. He kneeled by her bedside, and grabbed her mechanical hand in his own. 

“Cinder..she..” he shook his head slowly. “She did this to you..I’m sorry I was not there to help you…” Sage looked into her eyes. “I’m…I’m just glad you’re alive..I’m glad that I could save you…”

“I remember- At least some of it yes,” She figured something was off, feeling the large quantity of metal and her semblance try to cope with it. “What happened with me?” This last question is a bit more concerned, confused.

She wondered just had much had truly been saved.

Sage looked at her in pain. His answer would come from a place of brokenness, and tears rolled silently down the dark man’s face. “Pyrrha, when I found you atop that tower..you were dead…parts of you..missing…” He shook his head. 

“Pyrrha..they had to give you new, cybernetic body parts…they..I…I..couldn’t save all of you…”

She reclines, thinking it over. She dwells on it, weighing reality with her last memories. Maybe it was denial, but there was little emotion to her next words: “It’s fine. Loss is expected as a huntress in training— How much was lost?”

Pyrrha looks to Sage craving an honest answer, almost like she needed to realize how angry or calm to be.

Sage was distraught at the sight of the fallen warrior in front of him. He never thought…he never thought she could be beaten, let alone this badly. He thought she was invincible, everyone did. Tears rolled down his bloodied face as he picked Pyrrha up. As carefully as possible, he carried her down the tower, heartbroken. When he reached the bottom he caught the eye of General Ironwood, who took him aside, and offered him an idea. 

Ironwood still believed that Pyrrha would be the one to take down Cinder, and he had a way to make that happen. With Sage’s cooperation, the Atlas military took the body of a once vibrant life, North, to an Atlas Research and Development Facility. There they worked around the clock to bring her back. Through a use of Atlas military technology, Dust, and state of the art medical training, she was revived, and was now recovering. 

Sage waited patiently outside her room, when a nurse excited, and gave him a small smile and a nod. “You can go in and see her now, she is conscious, and is asking for you.” The man gave her a nod of thankfulness and proceeded into the room. 

“Pyrrha?”

It had been its own brand of agonizing, but a success was a success. She appreciated it, specially considering how bent she was on returning the favor to Cinder. She still tested her fingers, curling and relaxing, trusting the doctors would bring Sage to her as soon as possible.

Seeing the green haired hunter in training enter, a small relief washed over her. “You are okay,” it was but a tiny whisper, an exhale escaping her. It relaxed her, both the fact and the company that followed,” What happened to me?”
