SHADOW WORK FOR CALLUM TURNER
ANALYSIS OF CALLUM TURNERâS RELATIONSHIP DYNAMICS + HIS FAMILY KARMA + FUTURE PREDICTIONS
Callum Turner faced a lot of issues in healing his relationship to a paternal figure growing up, and had issues surrounding the conception of love and healing in his motherâs relationship, not only to his biological father but to a potential step father or affairs/loves that his mother had with men. For this reason, he wasnât very open in receiving or accepting love and engaging with other women, because he felt he could never leave his motherâs side or allow her to be âaloneâ. This largely influenced his relationship dynamics with women, to which he was very distrusting and often self-sabotaged his love and relationship dynamics for not feeling like he was âenoughâ.
Callum is subconsciously attracted to women who share the same eccentricities and unique or peculiar qualities and habits or particularities in terms of preferences that his mother had. He is accustomed to accepting womenâs demands, expectations and preferences, as long as they donât override him in a way that exhaust him rather than encourage him to continue feeling excited and optimistic about where the relationship is going.
Callum is very sensual, flirty and charming. These are natural qualities that he depicts without even trying. Women are charmed by him through conversation and he is very good at enhancing his eroticism to attract women sexually and please them. However, a lot of women are misled by this as he may appear physically available and sexually interested, but mentally, he is completely unavailable, distrusting and keeps to himself. He is not easily trusting and has learned to engage in dynamics where he is not mentally affected or harmed by women. A lesson heâs had to learn is to overcome his saviour complex and no longer live as a man who has to âsafeâ every woman he deems vulnerable, sensitive or hurt. Callum is very intuitive and can already see into the future and develop a sense of foresight on where the relationship is going and whether itâs going to end, or how the woman will disappoint him. He knows exactly when to disengage and move on. But he might take longer to make this public knowledge to the other woman.
There may have been men who were involved with his mother, whether boyfriends, or a stepfather, that Callum is protecting (heâs truly protecting his mother and her poor choices in love), which cause Callum a lot of pain. He is naturally a very sensitive person, but also emotionally aware and his emotional intelligence has made him capable of being both vulnerable but emotionally strong at the same time.
VANESSA KIRBY
Their relationship taught Callum a lot of important lessons in love, in particular what he is willing to put up with and whether certain sacrifices are worth it for a relationship with a specific person. Â
In this case, Vanessa was not meant to be the right partner for him to make such sacrifices and compromises, which he already knew but had to prove across the years he was in a relationship with her.
There was infidelity in this relationship, which damaged trust and time did not improve the dynamic of their relationship. In hopes of bringing them closer, it drove them further apart.
Callum grew tiresome of being a caretaker for Vanessa and no longer wanted to be in that type of dynamic. He wanted to take care of himself.
He cried a lot and had a lot of disappointments, because he wanted to gain more strength and prestige as a means to become well-known and more successful in his public career. This relationship exhausted him. Â
He was tangled up in this connection longer than he needed to be, and he knew this, but he felt trapped. He had a lot of subconscious guilt and didnât want to abandon Vanessa, in the same way he saw the pain that was done to his mother.
VICTORIA VILLARROEL
Callum was not 100% interested in this relationship. What was interesting was how different Victoria was, in terms of having a different ethnic background and upbringing.
Callum might be intrigued by differences, but for the long term he needs to find a lot of similarities and become familiarised with a woman in order to bond with her and connect with her long term.
He has a strong ego and felt that Victoriaâs career path and lifestyle was not aligned with his personal and public goals in his career and broader public image. He wanted to improve and get better.
He wasnât proud of this connection and felt that he was above her on a social scale. She appeared superficial and not too intelligent. Very limited thinking and view/way of life. He felt like the breadwinner in this relationship, which he didnât want. He wants a woman to lead.
DUA LIPAÂ
Very strong sexual and physical chemistry. They bonded very well and are extremely compatible. Callum sees a few traits in Dua that remind him of his mother - her eccentricity, breaking points, the good and the bad - which he ultimately finds charming and perfect in her own unique way. She shares a similar face shape and eye shape as his mother, which seems familiar to him.
He connected with her purely for understanding British custom and culture, but enjoyed the worldly and international air that makes Dua refreshing and open-minded, far more open minded than his British ex. Callum wants to live an international life and explore the entire world and grow, and his relationship with Dua enabled him to achieve such growth, mentally and spiritually.
Dua is very caring and loving, so he considers her to be the ultimate greater version or edition of his mother - alongside all his past relationships. He feels safe and secure in the relationship. The issue that is sometimes faced here is Duaâs possessive nature as she is extremely jealous of him. Sometimes he gets upset and sad because heâs sensitive, and doesnât want to disappoint her. She needs to give him space for his âegoâ, which ultimately has to do with his relationship with himself, and not other women.
He laughs a lot in this relationship and Dua is a woman who genuinely makes him feel happy. He fears self-sabotage and ruining the relationship, so he wants to ensure that he keeps her as happy as possible and flowers her with attention. She is a woman that makes him feel intensity, excitement and lots of warmth. Warmth that he lacked across most of his connections.
