Odyssey to Ogygia || Merlin and Calypso
Merlin had no idea about what she was talking about.
Whether it was because of the vagueness of her explanation, or because of the unfamiliar terms she had mentioned, he now found himself slightly confused. But despite his perplexity, a small scoff escaped him at her remark about his standards of normal.
If only she knew. In perspective, an enchanted island was the least bewildering of the things he’d run into.
"…So it’s some sort of enchantment, then? A curse of some sort?"
He peered at her, only to notice that she was avoiding his gaze. That, however, didn’t discourage him.
In fact, it only sparked his interest even further. If this girl was hiding anything, then he certainly wanted to know.
"…And if it affects my view, why doesn’t it affect yours?"
"Because I live here, that's why."
She rolled her eyes. Calypso had been irritable lately, and who ever this guy was, he certainly wasn't making her life any easier. She turned her head, and began to walk off in the direction of her garden.
"Ogygia is none of your concern," she called back.
"Stay on the shore; a raft will come to pick you up soon, I suppose, since your small boat is gone." With a flick of her hand backwards, Calypso pointed to the ocean.
She continued her way to her garden. Dark would be coming soon, and she to make sure her Moonlace was properly planted so they would bloom tonight.
you’re really cute and its ruining my life because i think about kissing you all the time
im a nice person i just hate everyone
WHERE WOULD YOU MOST LIKE TO VISIT ON YOUR PLANET?
"Percy, ahem.. once told me about a place called Manhatten. He said it was a shame that there were no gardens there.
I'd visit, if only to talk to the Satyrs and get them to start whipping that place into shape. Other than that I'd love to visit somewhere rural, with lots of trees and plants, but still a decent amount of people around."
Odyssey to Ogygia || Merlin and Calypso
Merlin couldn’t help but notice that the young woman didn’t seem all that excited to see him. Not that she was to blame or anything. After all, he’d be wary if a stranger suddenly strolled onto his island.
The warlock watched as she approached him and much to his surprise, found himself staring. Whoever she was, she was beautiful, even in that ashy chiffon of hers.
His blue eyes glued themselves onto her face, until he suddenly coughed in realization and straightened up, feeling that familiar, flustered smile pull at his lips.
"…Sorry….".
He stood there, awkwardly glancing around his surroundings as he tried to think of something to say, until the girl’s words hit him.
"At times? What, does the island change?”
Merlin was about to laugh at his joke, only to find himself suddenly sobering. As the thought took hold of him, his smile slowly faded into a frown. Something deep inside him confirmed that the island was in fact, special and now that he was thinking clearly, he noticed that he could feel a familiar sensation coursing through him.
..As it did whenever magic was present.
"…This isn’t a normal island, is it?"
"Ogygia never changes," she started, trying her hardest to look past him. "But rather, the sailor's view does." That's all she wanted to say on the matter, but the strange boy seemed like he would be hard pressed for answers.
Calypso didn't want to look at him. As far as she knew, the curse hadn't been lifted yet--despite that she felt different--and any newcomers to her prison would only suit to break her heart.
She figured, if she pretended he didn't exist, the curse wouldn't happen. Don't forget how well the last one went, her mind reminded. Oh, yes. She couldn't forget her repair boy.
"Depends on your standards of normal. As for myself, my island is about as normal as the clothes you dress yourself in each day." Vague answers--her specialty. "To an outsider, it's about as odd as finding a.. a sprig of Moonlace in.. in Manhatten."
