I'm seeing some people say that Professor Anthony Crowley felt like a totally different character from our Crowley and I have to disagree. That was Crowley unburdened by anger and bitterness and betrayal and abandonment. That was Crowley as he was in the beginning:

The ending we got is the best ending we could have gotten. It's all they ever wanted. From the very beginning. From season 1 episode 1. From the beginning of time itself.

And they actually got it. They actually got what they wished for!

They got peace forever! They have each other. And that's everything they ever wanted and needed.

it’s 5 AM. my finals are NOT finished. I have work in three hours. let me tell you something. about a little show called the Magicians. nobody watched it except for me and 3 other people. those showrunners did INSANE things to me personally and the most important character ever Quentin Coldwater. I am beyond fine with the GO finale. though I can understand people’s frustration and probably would have more critiques upon a second viewing. That said I know to be grateful for the gift of a queer ship getting to be real and sweet, and expressing love in non-physical ways is also beautiful actually! and beyond the ship, which I feel I do need to emphasize, it was good and I believe that in my soul truly. but also I haven’t seen a NOT completely, utterly dogshit finale in like 6 years so idk. bias perhaps. But also I work in entertainment I am ASTONISHED they did so much with what they got. Shoutout the set designers, decs, and visual effects artists especially. Omg and the costumes!!!! Soooo excellent this season. I could gush about those costumes for hours.

Imagine finding out you have 90 minutes to tie up a love story that's developed over thousands of years. You create something beautifully in character and completely on point for the plot. You pay homage to the original writer's legacy in a fitting and poetic way and create an ending that not only shows the depth of two people's love for each other but the wider love they have for the thing that brought them together in the first place.

And then you go online to find the loudest outcry is that everyone hates it and "THEY DIDN'T EVEN KISS!"

I feel sorry for people who didn't get anything out of that stunning finale.
