“No, thank you. I’m fit for duty, sir, you have my word. Yes... yes, thank you,” the old-school device worked perfectly while her omni-tool was being repaired, though she still preferred being mostly hands free. Oh well.
Maggie pocketed the thing before looking up, blinking at the new body in front of her,
“Oh ... you’re here,”

Hello folks. Rebooting the blog from where I left off.
Clean slate. -Rubs arm on chalkboard.-
Forgot I had this blog.
Welp, this is awkward.
Do I revamp you, Maggie, or do I leave you alone to continue gathering dust.
Decisions.

I'm Sorry || theroguesniper
Garrus limited himself to nodding at her. At last they agreed on something. At last the Irish storm was starting to pass. It was leaving a trail of misery in its wake, he realized. But maybe, just maybe, he would be able to act as first responder to this tragedy. He desperately wanted to patch things up with Shepard, to make it up to her.
But how the hell do you compensate for ruining someone’s wedding? Even if you were completely justified in doing so? Hopefully, he would find out about that soon enough.
Before he knew it, they were sitting at a table in the VIP section of the casino, far from the loud noise of the big crowds that usually frequented the venue. Of course, it wasn’t completely quiet, but they didn’t need to raise their voices to be able to talk, and given that what they were going to talk about was rather… delicate… not having to yell was appreciated.
Garrus ordered a Guinness for Shepard -it was her favorite- and a turian brand beer for himself. They kept quiet while they waited for their drinks. It was strange, really. The silence had taken on a different quality. It was no longer the angry and tense silence they had suffered through in the skycar, no. It wasn’t completely comfortable, either. They hadn’t quite reached that point yet. No, this silence was… rather awkward, if anything. Garrus just watched her while they waited, glancing around at passers-by or at the casino in general every now and then.
Soon, their beers arrived, and Garrus looked back at Shepard, thinking of how best to start.
"So, uh… I guess I should apologize again first. So. Sorry I ruined your wedding day, Shepard."
"There's a fine line between 'ruining' a wedding, Garrus, and nearly restarting the Relay 314 Incident," Shepard remarked plainly. He'd barged in a political wedding, demanding he not marry what's his nuts, and was apparently surprised it hadn't taken a turn for the worst. Frankly, she was surprised too. Most of the people there had been veterans of, or raised by veterans of the Incident, and thus held long-standing grudges against the Turians.
Not that she blamed either side, however. Both had been wrong, and it was rather annoying that people still held those grudges. Though frankly, today, she'd wanted to throw Garrus through a relay and be done with him. She'd not even noticed she called it the 'Relay 314 Incident', when most humans preferred 'First Contact War'. Eh, Garrus had more of an effect on her than even she realized.
The beer was held in hand, but not drank from just yet. Shepard stared at the bottle for a long time,
"Why did you stop the wedding?" she asked softly. She knew she'd sent him a message about it; telling him it was political, and that she had to in order to garner peaceful relations. Naturally, Shepard didn't like it, but when you had had the whole galaxy on your shoulders not once, not twice, but three times.. well, a political marriage to an ugly fat man was hardly something worth being -too- angry at.

"If we lose this moon, we lose Palaven" he explained, once they had let go of each other and Shepard had commented on his presence on Menae. Spirits, he should not feel this happy, this damn relieved, not with this war. But he’d be damned if he wasn’t glad to see her. Alive and against all odds, all things considered.
Shepard was damn hard to kill, he knew, and the one time she had died, all it had accomplished was getting her to make a comeback, a hell of a lot more pissed off than the last time.
"I’m the closest damn thing we have to an expert on Reaper forces, so I’m…" admitting that he had somehow landed himself a respectable position was not something he really enjoyed. If it were up to him, he’d lay down roots at the bottom of the meritocracy. But apparently, having talked to Sovereign back in the day and accompanied Shepard on more than enough missions over the years had somehow qualified him for the (all-new) position of Reaper Advisor. Honestly, he thought it was bullshit. Garrus shrugged nonchalantly before finishing his sentence. "… advising." Cocking his head, he looked at Shepard, and then at the company she’d brought.
Introductions. Right.
Looking toward him, she'd then look to Vega and Liara. Liara just smiled to the Turian, greeting him,
"It's good to see you in one piece, Garrus," Shepard would then gesture to Vega,
"Garrus Vakarian, James Vega. A helluva soldier, and a good man," Vega extended his hand for Garrus'. As the two shook, and talked a bit. Shepard nodded, looking to Corinthus who began explaining everything that was going on. He mentioned Adrien Victus, a general who was up next in line for the Primarchy. Her fingers rested against the holomap,
"They've hit everywhere," she murmured, more to herself than anything. Slowly she ran her finger over the map, checking different drop points for the Harvesters and for the Reapers themselves. Annoyed, she was about to speak before Vega's voice rang out,
"Harvester!" Shepard's head shot up with a gritting of her teeth, and she'd then look to Garrus, about to speak before Joker went off on her comm. The ship was going crazy. Liara volunteered to go and check it out, and the Commander nodded before looking to Garrus,
"Ready to kill some Reapers, Garrus?"

Familial Thoughts || theroguesniper
Garrus took her hand in his and squeezed it lightly. He kept his eyes down, fixed on her fingers as he played and fiddled with them, thinking how to best go about this. “Yeah. Her name’s Solana. She’s my little sister. Although, well, she’s hardly little anymore…” another soft, wistful chuckle here, the two-toned sound never quite reaching his eyes, his mandibles always snapping back tight against his face.
"My mom, she… she has corpalis syndrome. Ever heard of that?" he lifted his eyes to look at her, full of emotion, a kind of sorrow that weighed down on his shoulders and made him, somehow, look tiny.
Shepard did not know how to react. He ... she wasn't used to seeing him like this. Garrus was an imposing turian, taller than most. Others were hard-pressed to outmatch him in height or bulk, but now.. now he seemed so small. Thus, she raised her hand and rested it on his crest,
"I've not heard much .. but I know it is currently incurable.. I'm sorry, Garrus," her hand stroked along his fringe and against the back of his neck, her head tilting to get a better look at him,
"And Solana sounds like a spitfire, if she's anything like you,"
