The Five Crowns is open for its twenty-sixth wave of auditions!
WE WANT YOU! in The Five Crowns, also known as TFC, is a 16+, literate roleplay centered around the trials and conflicts of five Clans. While originally modeled after the five book Clans, TFC’s five River Territory Clans are unique to the canon, with their own extensive backstories and lore. The mod team encourages you to read the following documents prior to or during auditioning to learn more about the roleplay:
Main Doc | Rules | FAQ
This is TFC’s twenty-sixth wave of auditions. We are accepting auditions with characters that are warriors in ShadowClan and SkyClan. When creating your character, we suggest perusing the roster found in the Systems Spreadsheet to gather more information about your character’s prospective Clanmates.
If the Clan you want to join isn’t open this wave, please note that the other Clans are opened inside the roleplay for new characters for members. If you’re unhappy with the Clans open in this wave, but want to give the roleplay a try, we encourage you to still audition.
Auditions will be open for two weeks, and will close on June 20th at 11:59pm EST. After submitting your audition, you will receive a Discord friend request from a mod so we can contact you if necessary. Acceptance messages will be sent to new members via Discord in the days following the deadline.
If you explicitly stated in your audition that we should prioritize a different method of contact, you will be messaged on that platform instead.
Audition Form
When submitting your audition, you’ll have to sign into an email; please use an email that you’re comfortable sharing and using for your character docs if accepted.
To track progress on auditions and learn more about the roleplay, please consider following the blog! We’ll be posting updates and other content throughout the audition window. If you have further questions, feel free to send them in our Asks.
In case you’re wondering what TFC has been up to since the last auditions wave, here’s a recap of the previous plot and what has followed:
Since Hawkstar's conquest of the StarClan dreamscape, the River Territory has been in decay. Prey is running low, sickness is spreading, and leaders are dying—including Rueblossom, the acting leader of RiverClan after Swanstar's retirement.
Seeking to aid RiverClan and restore it to normalcy, young warrior Violetsnow traveled to the Whispering Tree and spoke with Hawkstar about a possible alliance. She agreed to join forces with him, and was crowned Violetmoon and given nine lives. She returned to the living world as RiverClan's new leader, and after bringing otherworldly power into the River Territory after seasons of decay, caused a power vortex to appear overhead the Whispering Tree. All the Clans were drawn to it and learned of her decision; a battle immediately broke out, during which Cloudedstar of ThunderClan was killed.
Tigerblaze, ThunderClan's new leader, was visited by one of the evil spirits, Batfang, in his dreams. Unwilling to work with his evil brother, but also distrustful of StarClan, Tigerblaze vowed to his Clan to ignore the ongoing war... but ThunderClan would soon fall sick.
WindClan, desperate to see StarClan's return, began to consider leaving the River Territory. In the meantime, they opened their territory as a safe haven for cats from all Clans to come for refuge from the war. Eventually, Jaystar approached his medicine cat, Viperlily, and sent her and four warriors on a journey to the mountains, where he hoped they'd find an alternate point of contact with StarClan.
RiverClan was initially distrustful of Violetmoon, but when their territory recovered as promised and prey began to thrive, they welcomed her as their leader. Violetmoon, carrying out Hawkstar's orders, began to offer prey and other resources to the other Clans, hoping they'd join Hawkstar, too.
Meanwhile, Wildspark of ShadowClan had still not claimed leadership after Dawnstar's death, hoping to restore her spirit to her body. He was inspired by Violetmoon's decision to try a new method of contacting StarClan and eventually went to the Whispering Tree to speak with Hawkstar. He joined the tom on the pretense of having a lives ceremony with the StarClan spirits of his family—which he was granted.
Now, Violetmoon and Wildspark are working together to bring the other Clans to Hawkstar. They're starting with a return to normalcy: a Gathering under the full moon.
More information about this can be found in the “Plots” section of our main document!
Why is there a limit to how many people can have one type of physical disability (untrue example purely for the sake of an example: only 5 people max can have a missing eye)? With these cats living in the wild with all sorts of threats like predators and terrain and battles with one another, surely it would be realistic for more than a handful of them to be deaf in one ear or partially blind. I apologizes if this comes off as accusatory; I'm not accusing you guys of doing or being anything. I just wonder why.
At the moment, the amount of characters allowed to have specified disabilities works well for our roleplay! The number allowed is not set in stone. If we see that many members are interested in a certain limitation, we could absolutely increase that number. Additionally, if the number of characters in our roleplay increased drastically, we might also change the amount of characters allowed to have certain limitations. The current maximums just help us to keep our roleplay more realistic!
ok wow i never post art here so here's this little guy who earned himself a new reference for artfight!!!! this is asterflake, he's part of the roleplay @thefivecrowns which actually has auditions open, i highly recommend auditioning, it's a great roleplay with lots of lovely people!
This is a scene of my oc Springlark playing in the snow with her crush Sunthroat (Aquorn oc). Theyre both apart of @thefivecrowns discord rp which has auditions open NOW!! AUDITION TO BE MY FRIEND :p
Hello! I see you have auditions open and I'm currently working on a character. Are you accepting apprentices?
I'd love to have my character learn the lore and world practices alongside me as I'm not gonna lie, it's pretty overwhelming for someone who has only been part of casual roleplay in the last couple years. I have a hard time with the idea of throwing in an adult character with zero relationships/experience in the world.
I'm interested regardless! Just trying to explore my options lol. Have a good day :)
Unfortunately we're only accepting warriors in this wave of applications. However, you can choose to make your character freshly graduated if that would help with the desire to learn the lore alongside your character!
Of course, the server is very welcoming, even to casual roleplayers! We'll be happy to answer any questions you have about the world if & when you're accepted, and many of our members would be willing to help as well. Take it from someone who was also only in casual rps with friends before joining TFC :)
This happened awhile ago, but my oc Creeksnap sadly killed one of my fav ocs, Cloudedstar of ThunderClan (Rismue oc) I drew this scene of Yarrowshade (Hib oc) finding her body, with his former apprentice, Springlark (my oc) in the back. Im not good at scenes so this was hard.
Btw this is in @thefivecrowns You should check it out to hangout with me and get free art 💋💋
“Jaystar stood beside Viperlily, staring at Nettlefrost, Wisteriadusk, Ivoryveil, and Sedgemist. The leader was nervous for this group to leave. Not only was the outcome a total wildcard, he was sending his daughter, and on top of that, their medicine cat. His gaze lingered on each of the chosen cats in turn. They all trusted him enough to walk into the unknown for WindClan and to find their ancestors. For a moment, he didn’t say anything, unwilling to let them leave. With a sigh, he nodded his head, as if a way to console himself. “Thank you all again for being willing to travel such distances for WindClan.” He began quietly. “You’re going farther than any of us have traveled, paths that will certainly try to break you before you reach the mountains.” Blue eyes flickered briefly toward Viperlily, confidence creeping in as he looked at his daughter. “I am confident you will find what WindClan needs. The mountains surely will have a connection point to reach StarClan. They will tell us what the River Territory needs to do.” He was sure of it. They had to be there.”
Recently, Jaystar has sent a group of four WindClan warriors alongside his medicine cat on a journey to the mountains in hopes they can contact StarClan and move there permanently. From left to right, Sedgemist, Nettlefrost, Viperlily, Wisteriadusk, and Ivoryveil have started their adventure and currently trek through The Withering Fields. Hopefully they’ll make it there soon.

If you want to see how our plot progresses for The River Territory Clans be sure to keep a lookout for auditions! Maybe one day you can make the journey too.
This past week, TFC members celebrated the 8th year of our roleplay through Spirit Week. Each day brought new activities for members to engage with as we all worked to uplift this wonderful community that makes our roleplay thrive!
The image above is a collage of the beautiful work our members created during our Arts and Crafts Day. Hypokits, creatures, nests, and flower crowns were designed through member-created artwork and bases drawn by mods. Our talented and creative community truly shines during this day!
Our members also had other opportunities throughout the week to celebrate. On Community Day, a roleplay-wide scavenger hunt was held, testing knowledge of former plot events and characters! A non-canon in-roleplay party was held, allowing members to use dead and alive characters at a celebratory party on Anniversary Day. Character Day was celebrated by allowing members to trade OCs for the day and pretend to be their character in our fun chats. Our Plot Day encouraged members to analyze past plots and make AUs using forums to share their ideas. Mod Day allowed members to get a taste of what it is like to be a moderator by looking at forms, answering questions from members, and creating their own plot with events. Finally, we celebrated Game Day with several hours of chat and online games. Members were rewarded for engaging by earning tickets to a raffle at the end of the week and the winners will be receiving moderator art!
Be sure to look out for auditions so you can participate next year!
Today, May 25, 2026, is TFC's 8-year anniversary! The roleplay is celebrating with our annual Spirit Week, which started yesterday and will last until Saturday.
We're so happy to be sharing this anniversary with our current amazing members and any future ones following our blog! Stay tuned for more posts about this year's Spirit Week.
With just a blink Bramblestar thought she had been pulled into another vision, only it wasn’t. The daylight suddenly shifted to night, the sun that had been clearly seen now covered by a certain blackness. She gasped at the change in light, panic sinking into her. “Cloudedstar?!” she called out, circling around as she didn’t know what the next branch was to step down. She needed to get away from this chaos. “W-What’s..w-what’s happening?!” she frantically meowed. With one step, Bramblestar felt her back paw only meet air and with widened eyes she quickly felt herself drop. A screech escaped from the leader as she tumbled from the near top of the tree, her body roughly hitting a couple of tree branches on the way down. With one final slam to the Whispering Tree floor, Bramblestar felt her entire world turn black.
