Sorry I haven’t been posting despite being back. I work at a factory 8 hours every day and by the time I get home, I’m often too worn out to give anyone a proper post... but I plan on staying up late tonight posting, editing, gaming, etc. Just send me an ask or ‘like’ this post so I know to post at you tonight.

The belt is tightened around the waist and the spikes cause a slight burning sensation in the abdomen, followed by severe pain (and some bleeding at times if twisted too far). This had two purposes when used and that was to interrogate prisoners, as slowly tightening the device would inflict more and more pain and get them to confess or admit their wrongdoings, and the other was often a side effect as if it was twisted too far, the interrogated prisoner would often die.

The Scavenger’s daughter was a type of torture device invented in the reign of King Henry VIII of England. However, extant documents reveal that the device was rarely used. Scavenger’s Daughter (or Skevington’s Daughter) was invented as an instrument of torture in the reign of Henry VIII by Sir Leonard Skeffington, Lieutenant of the Tower of London, a son of Sir William Skeffington, Lord Deputy of Ireland, and his first wife, Margaret Digby. It was an A-frame shaped metal rack to which the head was strapped to the top point of the A, the hands at the midpoint and the legs at the lower spread ends; swinging the head down and forcing the knees up in a sitting position compressing the body so as to force the blood from the nose and ears. The Scavenger’s Daughter was conceived as the perfect complement to the Duke of Exeter’s Daughter (the rack) because it worked the opposite principle to the rack by compressing the body rather than stretching it. The Scavenger’s Daughter is rarely mentioned in the documents and the device itself was probably not much used. The best-documented use is that on the Irishman Thomas Miagh, charged with being in contact with rebels in Ireland. It may be in connection with Scavenger’s Daughter that Miagh carved on the wall of the Beauchamp Tower in the Tower of London, “By torture straynge my truth was tried, yet of my libertie denied. 1581. Thomas Miagh." Another victim of the Scavenger’s Daughter was Thomas Cottam, an English Catholic priest and martyr from Lancashire who was executed during the reign of Elizabeth I. It is also known as Skevington’s gyves, as iron shackle, as the Stork (as in Italian cicogna) or as Spanish A-frame. Further it is known as Skevington’s daughter, from which the more commonly known folk etymology using "Scavenger” is derived. There is a Scavenger’s daughter on display in the Tower of London museum.

The Virgin of Nuremberg: The Maiden – The victim was tied inside The Maiden and one of the two doors was shut, penetrating the victim’s flesh with the strategically-placed spikes that didn’t penetrate any vital organs. When completely closed, the screams from the victim could not be heard outside, nor could the victim see any light or hear anything. This increased the psychological pain. Additionally, the spikes blocked the wounds so it took many hours – or even days – for death to occur

Would I still not remember doing them? Would lying to myself change what I have done?” He very likely had no idea about what she did, this was more to prove a point. That simply calling himself something different didn’t change that he did them... perhaps, he hoped, she could relate in some small way.

"No we wouldn't. I want to always be able to remember our visit." The female spoke sweetly, hues gazing over to the brand that would soon mark her skin.

“Good girl.”His words rolled off his tongue like honey, using a tone one would associate with training a dog or other obedient animal, certainly not how you’d talk to a human. He had kept her here for days... perhaps weeks. It would be hard for her to tell. She had been given just enough food and water to keep her alive and never allowed to get enough sleep. Upon seeing her glance to the brand, he looked back to her eyes and offered a smile.“I was thinking the same thing... but where would something like this best be placed?”He plucked up the now glowing hot brand of the flayed man and held it where she could see it.“It should be a place where you will see it any time you see your reflection and tell everyone just who this puppet belongs to. I could leave it on your forehead, the way they used to mark dolls. Yes! That works! From now on, you’re Doll.”He chose a name that implies an object rather than a human and fully intended to treat her as such. A cruel smile crossed his lips as the brand moved in close to her forehead until it was pressed to her flesh, forever marring her and marking her as his property.

With his head bashing into hers, there would be a bright flash and dark silence for her. He simply stood over her a moment longer as a smile crept across his face. With her now out cold, he reached down and plucked her up rather uncermoniously and tossed her over his shoulder. With her hanging over him like this, he gave her rear a rough slap and carried her off to a more private location. When her eyes finally began to flutter open, she’d be in a simple cloth dress, one that a common woman might sleep in. The room was very dim but it’d soon become aparent that she was strapped to a something with her arms and legs spread in the shape of a large ‘X’.

“What do you believe you are doing?”, Myrcella asked, as she realised where she was now. “What you are doing is punishable by death!”, the princess almost screamed. “I demand that you let me go! Do you truly believe you will get through with this! I am a gast of Lord Bolton, your princess and the fiance of Trystane Martell you are about to start war!”

As she continued to squirm and scream, he paused and waited, glancing about the room as if to see if anyone would respond to her. He knew no one would. Everyone here was loyal to him, as far as he knew anyways. Their true loyalty lied with his father, but what he was doing right now would not be over turned by his father. “You’re a guest of my father’s, but so are the Tyrells. In fact, they left right around the time that you went missing...” He smiled at this little bit of info she had been denied.as he stepped forward until they were almost nose to nose, staring into her eyes like a predator might to cornered prey. “I believe they left after some harsh words with your family... while your family was bickering with some relatives of your husband to be about your welfare in Dorne. I was the last one to leave the room” This meant he wasn’t the one that brought her here. Hinting that this was bigger than just the whims of one man. It also meant, no one would come looking for her here.

To her reaction, he simply paused to turn to her, a single brow arching as his smile waned ever so slightly. “Not going to keep me waiting, are you?” Any other servant would have rushed to do his bidding, lest he find other ways to occupy himself. His voice holding that polite tone with that just dripped with his own brand of subtle venom.

Emely swallowed hard. Of all the things to happen, this was probably the worst. Gone were her silent days of examining the stronghold. Any opportunity to look for an escape, or even attempt one, were now nonexistent.

“Ah, no! I just–I was surprised my Lord.” Quickly as she could she dried her hands on her apron. She pursed her lips and took a step forward, hoping this would placate him. At least for a moment.

As she dried her hands, he waited for her to move with him and his entourage of armed men. Once she had stepped forward, he slid a hand to the small of her back, preventing her from stopping or retreating. He then began to lightly push her as he walked, taking her with him as his hand guided her. “Well, since I surprised you... do you have any surprises for me? Anything I should know about before we continue?” His tone hinted that he knew something about her that she was hiding. Though this was honestly just a play of his expression and his voice. He hoped this would cause her to give up anything she was hiding from him or at least instill a little paranoia in her.
