omg I have thrips on some of my plants D: (at least I think that's what they are) how did you save your monstera?
Oh noo! Thrips are terrible, I’m still dealing with them on a few of my plants. :/
The only thing I found that really worked to get them off my monstera was a systemic insecticide, specifically imidacloprid. The problem with thrips is that they reproduce inside the plant, so spraying the outside with something like neem oil isn’t that effective at removing the infestation. On top of the imidacloprid I also wiped all of the leaves with dish soap and water every 2-3 days to kill/remove any mature bugs on the leaves, and I sprayed neem oil in the leaf joins because it seemed like that’s where they were congregating. I probably only had to do this for a week or two before the numbers of thrips I was finding went down significantly and eventually I stopped finding them completely.
I hope this helps! Good luck saving your plant friends!

I went to Logee’s for the first time since they reopened their greenhouses and picked up a plant I’ve had my eyes on for forever! Chinese perfume plant/Aglaia ordorata. I absolutely love fragrant plants so I’m looking forward to this one eventually flowering! This is a nice pick me up after I had to toss a few plants with thrip issues.

Monstera seems to be enjoying his spot in the new apartment! He grew pretty slowly this year (maybe because of the thrip issues he had in the spring?) but he’s got a big leaf coming in now and is looking healthier than ever. :)

Long time no see! I started work again, moved, had my wisdom teeth removed, got an 8 week-old puppy, AND I bought a new bird of paradise! Hope you’re all well 💕

I proudly present you the family portrait of my plants 🌿 Well, most of them anyway. I have over 30 plants actually and that’s not including the dozens of succulents props I have. You’d think I have enough plants already but honestly I just keep wanting more!
Sweet and adorable mug of silver pothos! 🌟

I picked up a baby monstera the other day (for only $10!) A couple new leaves have already unfurled and it looks like the next one has spilts! They grow up so fast
I got a bamboo pole for my mini monstera/raphidophora tetrasperma yesterday as leaning it up against the wall wasn’t really cutting it anymore — baby is 6’6” now! At some point I’ll start pruning which will hopefully allow for more growth at the base of the plant, but right now I feel like letting him do his thing!

Does anyone have any tips for getting rid of thrips on my Monstera? I’ve been wiping down the leaves with water and dish soap, spraying with neem oil, and I added imidacloprid spikes to the soil but I’m still finding more..
My Hoya is going through a growth spurt! It’s growing taller as well as branching off the main stem. The pink color of the new leaves is so cute! I hope the new growth is a sign I might get some flowers this year 🤞
It’s here! 😍 Calathea musaica aka Calathea network. This is one of the plants that has been on my wishlist for soooo long! The patterns in the leaves are amazing
Finally ordered one of my dream plants and it’s getting here tomorrow aaaahhhhhhhHH I’m so excited
