“Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.” Today, we remember Martin Luther King Jr. #MLK50 📷 Dan Weiner #ICPCollections http://bit.ly/2q4brdL
chandler bing: a relatable summary
Have you ever had your heart ripped from your chest, crushed slowly until it shatters into a million pieces and a little bit of you crumbled into emptiness?
To put your trust and heart wholly in someone's hands, to really fall without worrying about the descent or end - this is living isn't it?
I was swept off by a wave of surprise emotions, saw the fit in the impossible and ended up sorely disappointed, sitting as the tide sweeps out, leaving scattered shells and smooth sand. We pretend it doesn't hurt but under the surface no one sees it.
The rational part of me thinks well, he's not the one if he doesn't love me, doesn't treat me right, doesn't appreciate all I do and won't adjust to me. The other part just turns left and right in a haze of emotion, hurt, disappointment and in some ways a slight tinge of injustice - how you let me continue believing in us was the worst part of all.
I wish it would be simpler than this. To move on, to immerse yourself in distractions without riding the wave of hurt over and over like a poor choice of rollercoaster ride. Instead I can only try to put walls up (but you know how this ends) , cry these silent tears and hope that you don't hurt me any more than you already have. I've done so much for you and I can't do any more.
Please remember to be fair the next time, I hope you are happy. I hope you figure out what you want and what you're willing to sacrifice. It's funny how even when the pain hurts so much you can't eat or sleep, you still want the best for that person.
Some days,
I feel everything a once.
Other days,
I feel nothing at all.
I don’t know what’s worse:
Drowning beneath the waves
Or dying from thirst.

I have JUST watched back to the future and I don't understand how it took me only...about a quarter of a century being on this earth to do so
It’s not just what you say that matters. It’s how you say it.
Take the phrase, “Here’s Johnny.” When Ed McMahon used it to introduce Johnny Carson on The Tonight Show, the words were an enthusiastic greeting. But in The Shining, Jack Nicholson used the same two words to convey murderous intent.
Now scientists are reporting in the journal Science that they have identified specialized brain cells that help us understand what a speaker really means. These cells do this by keeping track of changes in the pitch of the voice.
“We found that there were groups of neurons that were specialized and dedicated just for the processing of pitch,” says Dr. Eddie Chang, a professor of neurological surgery at the University of California, San Francisco.
Really? Really. How Our Brains Figure Out What Words Mean Based On How They’re Said

where were we
Last time I was here...it was a hell of a ride and I made it back home. It's a new career, a new chapter in life. I've met people from all over the world and I'm still searching for my place. Being here, but not yet home, coming to the realization that there is no one place called home for me. It's a new beginning, I am so lucky to have met amazing people. Some, more unexpected than others. Don't get me wrong, I miss Australia. In a lot of ways it hurts when I think about not being able to go back. Not just the country, but also where things were. But as always, life goes on. It would be a lot more comforting if I knew there was a greater plan, yet the uncertainty and adjustment is a challenge I am (nervously) taking on in the hope it will make me a stronger person. I will make something out of this.
to new beginnings
Whoever said love was all that you need, well that was just a full fucking lie now wasn't it?
Burnt and burnt out
I guess it was a lesson I had to learn sooner rather than later - keep it to yourself and not tell others. Had a colleague talk too much and well, could be worse but hey here it is. I have to smooth this over but you know what, I'm committed now and not looking back. #workbitch #lolrihannasong #last two months
“The more we love the more we lose. The more we lose the more we learn. The more we learn the more we love. It comes full circle. Life is the school, love is the lesson. We cannot lose.” ― Kate McGahan
